There’s bad news and good news. Maybe. The bad news is that there’s no ScoutCast scheduled for this week. On the flipside, that’s because we’ve decided to take on a new approach which offers a new way to “enjoy” the weekly get-together with myself, Granville and any guests we persuade/cajole into joining us on air.

The ScoutCast is going live.

From next week we will be using Google Hangouts to stream the ScoutCast recording live. You’ll be able to tune in to the session and have the pleasure of seeing Granville and myself in our humble abodes and you’ll be able to interact live with us, during the recording, with Jonty joining us to fire us your questions and reactions.

If you can’t join us on the night, you’ll be able to download or view the ScoutCast Hangout shortly after the recording and, as usual, we’ll be publishing an edited version, in the usual mp3 format as a podcast, on Thursday evenings.

It will take time for us to adjust to this brave new world. The live stream will expose us, warts and all, to you the listener/viewer, but that’s a risk we’re prepared to take to improve interactivity and take the ScoutCast forward. Besides, with my current rank, I’m at rock bottom with nothing to lose.

Jonty will be setting up Hot Topics and a Twitter hashtag and, when our new live comments system is up and running (it’s looking good by the way), we’ll be embedding the live stream in this and you’ll be able to interact with us in real-time.

As well as Jonty’s return, we’ll be trying to bring in special guests on a weekly basis and we’ve already lined up the first victim for the opening show.

We’ll bring you more details on all this in the days to come and, if you want to be kept in the loop and get involved on the night, we recommend that you follow us on Google+ or Twitter to get the latest news and subscribe to our new YouTube channel, where all our ScoutCasts will be published from here on in.

If all goes to plan, we’ll see you, or rather, you’ll being seeing us, next Wednesday evening.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So looking at next season already, obviously there is a ton of variables yet to factor but have any players already earned a spot in your team for next year? Who do you think will offer good value? Heres a few i think could be great value:

    Eriksen
    Mirallas
    Walcott
    Salah
    Jovetic
    Bony

Definitely Eriksen. Should be a fairly nice price and will hopefully be playing under a very competent manager(Van Gaal).

Think Smalling and Sterling could be set for decent seasons too.

Jovetic is a hugely exciting prospect for me.
I expect Eriksen will jump back up to his starting price or higher depending on his end of season form.

I'd add Willian, and McGeady (no Deu).
I also think Barkley and Sterling could see themselves as serious contenders, but expect a hike in price.

Long shot, Lamela - depending on the new manager at Spurs

              So true.

Just thinking Januzaj could well come into the mix from a similar position if Moyes has a shake up. I can see Rooney at CF with Mata at #10, Januzaj in a sort of Hazard role off the left.

      Yeah good list.

Eriksen will depend upon his new manager, he's a great player but a bit lightweight
Mirallas same as the past two seasons

      Jovetic...nah

          http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2014/04/10/say-what-gameweek-33/

          About half way down

“We know he (Salah) needs time, we know next season he will be an important player for us. This season, step by step, he’s playing 10 minutes here and there. You can feel the connection between him and the crowd; the crowd like him, they like his style of play. He’s the type of player we need because we have wingers who prefer to play with the ball at their feet, he’s the type of player who prefers the ball into space….The goal was really good but I think a player with his (Willian’s) quality, that gives so much to the team, not just in possession but in the defensive work and balance of the team, I want to see him score more goals. He has to do that in the second season, he has to bring his game into other levels.”

Those who have underperformed and are likely to be much cheaper next season may catch my eye, such as:

        Michu
        Walcott
        RVP
        Baines
        Ozil
        Coutinho
        Ba (if he moves)
        Carroll
        Lamela
        Fellaini
        Swansea defenders.

I think Swansea players will be priced lower because of their poor performance this season though I'm hoping they bounce back from European football better than Newcastle did. Similarly without European football and a poor season Man Utd players could benefit from price drops, whereas Liverpool and perhaps Everton players will suffer the opposite fate.

Chiang Mai is a cool city, loved it.
Got a condo in the North of Bangkok so chill out there for a while. This time heading to Khao Yai national park for a few nights, been there before but going to stay in the park in a cabin this time. Probably driving to Laos border on Mekong this time.
Islands are great, take your pick but much prefer the non touristy options these days.

As I couldn't afford to wait for Sturridge's drop the other to fund my plans, so I put Dzeko and Aguero's name in a hat...Dzeko was drawn twice in a row so he's in. If this goes well I shall be making all future difficult decisions using this system.

Could happen again with the latter two, what with one playing with a little bit of an injury and the other fresh off of one. Kompany should be safe though, since he just recently got a rest due to his suspension.

Which combo is best, A or B? (2 FTs, for -4)

A: Yoshida > Baines, Haz > Punchy, Studge > Aguero
B: Yoshida > Baines, Nolan > Eriksen, Studge > Dzeko?

      Current team
      Mannone
      Azpi, Ward, Zabba (Turner, Yoshida)
      Yaya, Haz, Snoddy, Lallana (Nolan)

Both look pretty good. Puncheon has the extra game to offset the risk of limited minutes from Aguero in the first, Eriksen has the form and that easy schedule to boost the second. I have the 3 in B, so I guess I have to vote for that one, though I've got an upgrade plan to turn Dzeko into Aguero in a couple of weeks if Aguero can actually last that long without another injury.

That feels better. I couldn't spend another night looking into different permutations, so I've done:

Sturridge, Hazard & Bardsley -> Aguero, Lallana & Baines.

I'd already made a trabsfer so that's a -12 you're looking at. But DGWs are not the time for caution - throw it to the wind!

I suppose this will come down to people's views on Aguero, but any thoughts on the following transfers?

Mata, Jelavic & Sturridge > A.Johnson, Adebayor & Aguero (-8pts) to give me

      Mannone
      Baines - Coleman - Ward
      Mirallas - Yaya - Silva - A.Johnson
      Suarez - Aguero - Adebayor
      Marshall - Mutch - Williamson - Flanagan
      0ITB

I'm currently 28pts behind my league leader, and although A.Johnson doesn't particularly appeal, he's probably the best option at 6.5 as I'm 0.1 from Eriksen.

Hazard going to drop tonight? Looks close.
