We continue our series of articles for members focusing on the player Key Performance Indicators (KPI). This time around, we delve into the data to discover those forwards who favoured home comforts over 2013/14 and also assess the more consistent strikers who produced the same sort of attacking threat regardless of fixture.

For the unfamiliar, these Key Performers Indicator (KPI) tables are designed to use a series of key stats to allow our members to track form or change in player performance. By tracking the frequency of certain key statistics and comparing over two separate periods of time, we can ascertain each player’s form, whether it be an improvement or decrease in displays on the pitch. As mentioned in last summer’s introductory article, we’ve rolled out a preview movie which shows just how to get the best out of the KPI tables.

If you're getting Yaya, as well as those other big hitters, you need a cheap defence. Your front line is really lacking now. Downgrade the defence and upgrade the attack if you're set on Yaya.

YaYa will be in a sulk this year in order to get a transfer to somewhere where he'll be given a birthday cake commensurate with his massive talent (or is it ego?) and he's way too expensive. Ramsey will continue to fire on all cylinders so I'd swap YaYa for someone like Nasri or maybe even de Jong and beef up the forwards - Nugent hasn't got a hope, Pelle's a punt but prob worth it -> Nugent for Bony (esp if he's transferred), Giroud or Dzeko I'd say.

Tough call because both their early fixtures aren't easy. I would maybe say Sanchez because worst cast scenario you can down downgrade to Hazard even if his price goes up.

With no context on how Sanchez will adapt to the prem or how Hazard will link up with Fab/Costa it's hard to say who will get more points.

not really..i still feel we lack depth in CB, especially with a error-prone dawson, always injured kaboul and chirches on the way out. if we can sign another cb, then i can see this being a viable option. it's our weakest section of the team currently. but then again that's just one opinion.

Do people really think Vermaelen would be nailed if he went to Man U? I've seen so many people excited at the possibility of a United defender for 5.0, but am I the only one who thinks he won't be a certain starter, especially at the start of the season?

    Opinions wanted/welcome please:

    Krul Elliot

    Cahill Debuchy B.Davies Wisdom Targett

    Sanchez Mata Fabregas Siggy Wanyama

    Rooney Dzeko Giroud

Krul play every week, 3 main defenders every week, Wisdom and Targett can be most likely nailed 4.0m defenders. Siggy Wanyama rotate nicely if I need them too but Siggy has a great previous away record so likely to play him most weeks. Happy with strikers. If Fabregas looks likely to play deeper, I will consider a change to Silva or fancy Sterling maybe......

I think you have a solid team here. I've flirted with a similar team myself -- somehow managed to talk myself out of Giroud (at least at the start) and upgrade Siggy, but that is by no means how everyone should do it.

There's no real weaknesses here at all. If anything, my only advice would be to try and find 0.5 to upgrade Wanyama to Davis, but that's nitpicking.

I'm a sucker for goal threat and Caulker has one of the best goal threats in the league for a defender. Austin looks like the best 6m striker IMO and I can see him becoming the next Lambert. I think QPR will finish the highest out of the promoted teams.

Fixtures aren't the greatest, not that this should make a difference. Could be also that there are many shiny new additions to the PL this season in attacking positions and like a flock of magpies we are gravitating towards them,

    Guys,

    Current team is as follows:

    Mannone / Krul
    Shaw / Luis / Davies / Wisdom / 4.5m
    Sanchez / Eriksen / Hazard / Sigurdsson / Albrighton
    Rooney / Dzeko / Pelle

Whats the best way to get Mata in, in place of Eriksen? I need 1m.

A - Downgrade one of my 6m defenders to a 5m? If Vermaelen goes to Man U that would be straightforward.

B – Downgrade Shaw to Jones (giving me 0.5m) and my 4.5m defender down to a 4m? Risky as that would give me two 4m defenders who may not play much.

C – Downgrade Sanchez to Ramsey?

D – Downgrade Pelle to one of the many budget attackers available?

    Cheers!

I know there are no nailed-on 4.5 defenders, but expect City in GW3, they have a run of AVL/hul/LEI/qpr/NEW/sun/SWA/sou/WHU in the first 10 weeks. And also, they are Stoke City.

Completely agree. Never rated Hughes as a manager until end 1/2 of last season when they combined the old style Pulis meanness in defence with actually passing the ball on the turf rather than launching it in the rough direction of Saturn. Huth may well come back and at 5.0 he's good value + Cameron was excellent for the US at the WC so he'll likely be ahead of Bardsley @ FB or poss even OOP.

if remy is going to get gametime hes the easy pick. giroud will face rotation this year and pelle is a punt that could go badly wrong. soton dont have the team they had last season

Is it just me or is Debuchy destined to be a flop?

5.5 mil and with not great fixtures, a propensity for a yellow card, and now Chambers too?

nah, I'm just messing tbh, i don't have him and don't want him either, he's a bit of a bamdwagon in here. if he hadn't played for the french in the WC he probably wouldn't have had so many buyers

Monitor him in the pre season games, most probably he will play as RW in the emirates cup. Both are good option imo.
If Sanchez shines, then go for B or else A.

No idea Wakey, hoping for more clues over the next couple of weeks. I think it might have to be 3 Utd to start with. Now it's just finding the right ones and the ones that start every game.
