With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

The next up is our fixtures specialist Roscola.

Begovic – (Gilks)
Azpilicueta – Evans – van Aanholt – (Wisdom – Bartley)
Mata – Fabregas – Ramsey – Sterling – Sigurdsson
Rooney – Costa – (Zamora)

Roscola admits his team has a major flaw in that it is potentially benchless. He says though that he’s happy for QPR striker Bobby Zamora never to play, because this is a 3-5-2 that reverts to four at the back for first sub. He believes that there are more points available in the budget bracket in defence than further upfield. Sticking with this basic strategy he is looking for advice to find extra funds to invest in his bench. Downgrading Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas to Manchester City’s Samir Nasri is one option he is considering.

Feel free to get stuck in with your feedback. We look forward to scanning your RMTs throughout the day on this article.

I'm not a fan of 3-5-2 but I think if you are to use it the third striker needs to at least be nailed on, which Zamora isn't. A few more injuries and you could be faced with hits or playing him every week to pick up his 1pt sub appearance point. Bojan looks a better bet, as does David Nugent. Nugent especially is nailed on and on pens.. That costs more, but is worth the investment I think and would mean sacrificing one of your top mids for Eriksen perhaps. that extra 1m invested in attack would give your 3-5-2 genuine bite.

If I were to go 352, which I have decided against, Steven Fletcher would without doubt be my cheap forward.

He looks fit and back to hist best. He should represent great value at 5.5m.

Not cheap enough though. 5.5 is too much for a first sub in my book. It is the big problem with a 3-5-2

I might yet change Sterling > Jovetic (you know what I mean).

Maybe. Not sure I believe in rotating forwards.

Fletch could easily go into goal-a-game mode though, like he did 18 months ago.

3-5-2 is hard to do as I think you need to spend 5.5 to get a guaranteed starter up front.

Its risky but ive got a 5.5 mid striker & a 4.5 Mid. See my RMT below, any feedback would be appreciated.

    Sorry for reposting:

    Thoughts on my team?

    I currently have:

    Begovic-Krul
    Davies-Wisdom-Luis-Ward-Debuchy
    Lamela-Ramsey-Hazard-Sigurdsson-Aluko
    Jovetic-Rooney-Bony

According to my calculations based on expected goals from last season, if Jovetic had played a full season the way he played the few minutes he had, he could have scored more goals than Suarez. Similarly, Aluko does decently if played and has played well in preseason. He is registered as a Mid in FPL, but gets played up front. My only concern is that he won't get played.

    Thoughts?
Also is there a better option than Lamela or Davies?

    Cheers

Well it's certainly not template. There's doubt over Luis' place. He could well be benched, no-one really knows yet.

Personally I'd partner Begovic with a 4 and play him all the time. He has good fixtures anyway for a while. You could use the extra to upgrade elsewhere.

I went Bego + Hamer (save 0.5m) (play Bego all season long) and get Cahill or Terry.

You can't use calculations and expected goals here. That way that Wilson chap from United could have scored 50 goals if he had played all the matches. Jovetic can get 15 goals at the most due to rotation

I did account to some degree for time played as I removed players who had played less than (can't quite remember, 400 minutes?), to try to reduce dealing with the small sample size. Also I entirely agree that Jovetic would be unlikely to score more than Suarez did last season if he had a full season.

In more recent calculations, I have used to expected goals from last season and combined with the expected time played from this site, and I have him sitting at ~13.6 goals for this season +/-2.7 goals, which according to my projections (although they may be low for everyone) leaves him 4th in forwards behind Aguero, Sturridge and Rooney. If he goes on good goal scoring form he may be award more time, and score more.

    Think this looks pretty good:
    Green (Speroni)
    Cahill, JEvans, N.Taylor, Wilson, Hutton
    Coutinho, Eriksen, Ramsey, Arnie, 4.5
    Dzeko, Rooney, Costa

I want Coutinho in their as a differential. Looks good and is going to be deployed in his favoured position now that Suarez has gone. Also, looking to get Fabregas in, any ideas how???

Whilst I applaud the bravery of opting for Coutinho, I am yet to be convinced of his Fantasy merits. I think Sterling is by far the better option for just 0.5 more.

Other than that, I really like this team.

To get Fab in, you probably need to downgrade Arnie to Siggy and one of:

      A) Green > 4m
      B) Wilson > 4m
      C) Dzeko > Jovetic

I'd favour C, myself. Very close to putting him in my own team.

I'd agree with favouring Sterling over Coutinho.

Coutinho is a great player to watch, but the type of balls he plays will often 'assist the assist' if you know what I mean. Sterling is much more direct.

I feel that both are overpriced by about £0.5m though especially with the high quality of Silva, Ramsey, Mata and Fabregas at £9.0m.

Actually, since I originally mooted this team, I've decided on Naismith over Zamora (funded by Begovic > Krul).

With Mirallas probably out, he should start GW1 so I don't have to play Siggy at Old Trafford.

Last season he played a part in 30 games, scored 5 and assisted 3. Martinez seems to really like him and he's been their key man in pre-season. After GW1 he's just a sub so I'm happy with what I might get from him.

(Many thanks to Community member Beavis for the Naismith suggestion)

Naismith is a good shout to start the season. Long term, I'm not so sure. Everton seems to be looking to bring someone in his position. One problem I don't like with 3-5-2 is it keeps value on your bench. Lots of choice in midfield though, so it is tempting.
Looks a very good team Ros..

Hey guys, I have always gone with a 3-4-3 in all of the years I have played fantasy football. However this year, initially at least I think that there is far more appealing options in midfield. Interested to see which team you think is better.

    A. Begovic Gilks
    Terry Jones Coloccini Wisdom Hutton
    Mata Ramsey Sterling Siggy 4.5
    Rooney Costa Dzeko

Obviously this will be a 3-4-3 predominantly.

    B. Begovic Gilks
    Jones Coloccini Ferdinand N.Taylor Wisdom
    Mata Ramsey Fabregas Sterling Siggy
    Rooney Costa Bojan

The thinking here being that Bojan and Siggy rotate really well, so its shifts from a 3-4-3 to 3-5-2 depending on which of the two are at home.

Any advice would be appreciated, cheers.

Bojan & siggy rotation is a problem. Siggy scored most points away from home at Swansea. For me he's unbenchable. Bojan could be a big let down doubled when Siggys points are staring at you from your bench.

    -Marney could be Isgrove

    Any thoughts welcome

Hi, this is my first season as a member on this site and I would be grateful for any help in (RMT).
    Currently this is my team;

    Mannone - (Krul)

    Evans - Ferdinand - Cameron - (Ward) - (NTaylor)

    Mata - Ramsey - Sterling - Eriksen - (Sigurdsson)

    Rooney - Costa - Bojan

My thought being I would rotate (Bojan/Sigurdsson) (Cameron/Taylor) (Ward/Ferdinand) depending on fixtures.
    Issues I'm struggling with;
    - Cameron looking unlikely to start but I want a Stoke defender
    - Mannone or Pantilimon?
    - Eriksen or Lamela?
    - Really want to upgrade Ferdinand to Caulker but don't know if I can

      Doesn't seam like he will
      dont know, better stay clear
Up to you, Erik was good last season and is on FK, new manager has improved Lamela's prospects, I have Lamela if it helps
If you switch to Krull Elliot you can get Caulker

      See above for siggy/Bojan rotation.
      Mannone
      Either
      Caulker not worth the upgrade

    please RMT:
    DDG (Krul)
    Lovren, Caulker, Debuchy, Baines (Bruce)
    Mata, Hazard, Henderson, Matic
    Rooney (c), Studge, Bojan

You don't need Krul since you have David. Matic is not good in FPL, and Bruce isn't nailed.

Krul is 4.5 though, anything cheaper and worthwhile?
agree, re: Bruce, not sold on him yet.
Matic also not sold, need a dead cert starter... any suggestions for similar price?

I'd use that .5 to make one of your riskier players...erm...less risky.

      Either Luis > Cahill/JT
      or
      Jovetic > Dzeko
      or
sort out the Davies/Chambers situation (both risky)

Posted on other article and got the 'go post on this thread' treatment...

Am I finally free from tinkering? Please say I am...I can't take any more of this I tell you!

    Krelliot

    Cahill - Evans - Debuchy ( Moore - Wisdom )

    Lord Ramsey - Mata - Eriksen - Henderson ( Isgrove )

    Rooney - Costa - Dzeko

    Last Minute Tinkering

    Speroni / Adrian

    Ward/Delaney/Cresswell/Reid/Chambers

    Ramsey/Hazard/Sterling/Shelvey +1 more

    Jovetic/Pelle + 1 more

Do I go for Sanchez and someone like Crouch or

    Lamela/Eriksson/Tadic with either Bony/Giroud upfront

    Help would be much appreciated...

    DDG (Gilks)

    Luis - Coloccini - O'Shea - Ward - W.Reid

    Haz - Ramsey - Coutinho - Eriksen - Sig

    Rooney - Dzeko - Bojan

Like it a lot but not sure on having city players for the first few weeks so could replace Dzeko. And I'm not sure on defence D:

Personally I would downgrade ddg to begovic and then use the spare 1m to turn coutinho into mata. Other than that it's a strong looking team in my eyes.
