Welcome to our annual attempt to pick the best and worst options in the Fantasy Premier League game and assess how the forthcoming Premier League season will shape up.

As usual many of  our last season predictions proved to be terrible.

Among the worst of our predictions was Mark’s assertion that Andreas Weimann would be the best differential and highest scoring budget forward in FPL and Paul’s belief that Roberto Soldado would finish the year as top Premier League goal scorer.

My forecast that Kolo Toure would be the best budget defender and Crystal Palace would be relegated proved equally embarrassing.

Applebonkers was also left with egg on his face by labelling Hull defender Curtis Davies as the worst signing of 2013/14, while Granville’s optimism that Iago Aspas would be the best differential in FPL was another of our top clangers.

There were some predictions we nailed, though. Evs correctly reckoned Southampton would overachieve, while Fulham would falter. Andy and Mark can also feel pleased for themselves for correctly naming Seamus Coleman as the best budget defender in FPL last season.

Hopefully we shall all do better with this series of predictions for the forthcoming Premier League campaign.

What do you guys think is better:

Luis and the rest of my defense 4.5s

or downgrade Luis to a 5 and spread it around to the rest of the defense and get a couple more 5s? Not in love with many of the 5s except maybe Ward and Caulker

VfL Wolfsburg will present Nicklas Bendtner as a new signing tomorrow at 12:30 German time.

If I were a Wolfsburg taxi driver or pizza parlour owner, I'd be very worried indeed.

We won't pay that extra few million for Lukaku, sure why not Bendtner instead....

I know I'll end up using WC sooner rather than later, so going in with this team, even though some will lose their place shortly.

    Krul

    Chambers, Terry, Caulker, Kolarov

    Sterling, Ramsey, Mata, Fabregas

    Rooney, Jovatic

Apparently Pulis wanted to buy Cork but Parish wanted him to buy Zaha. Can understand the frustration. Its Stoke all over again. Wish owners would let managers manage and focus on winning games

Why doesnt Parish just shut his mouth? Pulis knows his squad and tactics very well, hope he doesn't leave.

Bit too pricey. 10m last season was on the money. 1.5m extra with Suarez gone is madness

This is what I've come up with now...

    Green Gilks
    Clyne Kelly 4.5 Moore Wisdom
    Sterling Mata Ramsey Sigurssdon Wanyama
    Sturridge Rooney Costa

Defence too weak? Wish I had another 4.5 in there.

Also, another plan I've had is to downgrade Costa to Lukaku, and then upgrade a 4.5 defender to the most nailed on 6.0 Chelsea defender a few weeks into the season.

Siggy to Young and Mata to Eriksen gives you the money to go 4.5-6m defender.

      Just an idea
