With the domestic action on a brief hiatus due to the upcoming internationals, we thought we’d give you an early heads-up on one of the Fantasy games already available for this season’s Champions League. Having supported Fantasy iTeam during the summer World Cup, we’re delighted to announce we’ll be teaming up once again ahead of the competition’s kick-off on Tuesday September 16.

Fantasy iTeam is a free Fantasy football app that’s available on a number of mobile devices, including iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android. With many of you accessing this site and other apps on your mobile or tablets, Fantasy iTeam proved popular amongst the community during Brazil 2014, with a slick and reliable user interface making it a welcome addition to our Fantasy games of choice.

Free to download and play, you can already go in and start drafting up your starting XI with unlimited transfers right up until 10 minutes before the first kick-off. With an iPad mini on offer to the Fantasy Football Scout league winner, there’s no reason not to get involved.

We’ve already set up an official Fantasy Football Scout league for you to join – the league name is Fantasy Football Scout and the pin is 11155.

Furthermore, there are a number of prizes on offer for Fantasy managers. The winner of this season’s Fantasy iTeam game earns a VIP European Match Day Experience for two, whilst second and third spot collect £500 and £250 worth of Amazon vouchers respectively. There’s also a Manager of the Gamreround prize on offer, too – essentially, the Fantasy iTeam that accrues the most points for each individual Champions League Gameround wins a Red Letter Days Experience worth £150.

The Fantasy iTeam game also uses fluctuating player prices based on the transfer market, making it a wise idea to follow the current trends – the team with the highest value by the end of the tournament wins another £500 Amazon voucher.

If you’re looking to dabble in the Champions League this year and have a compatible device, then there’s really no reason not to click here for the official website and download the app.

We’ll continue our coverage of the Fantasy iTeam Champions League game over the next week or so. Next up, we’ll cast an eye over the rules before delving deep into the player price list for potential bargains.

Major dilemma. Have Aspi (can't afford Ivan and want chelsea coverage at the back). Chances of Luis playing over Aspi this week?

Is Azpil injured? If not you just gotta take the chance he stays in
I know they conceded 3, but all 3 could be attributed to Gary Cahill mistakes rather than anyone else and does bringing in a more attacking option solve it?

Ah excruciating, I hate when that happens
You never know his paltry 5 points from Chelsea's 6 goals might see him dropped to the event he goes to 9.9....

Looking at transfers in/out I don't think he'll change now.

Although just having another look at my team, I have Jones in defence, and notice that Evans and Rafael have dropped to 5.4, could maybe switch him for one of them.

Evans looks awful so far though.

I have indeed, I've had Lamela since GW1, thought he would suit the new spurs style, think he will get decent returns over the season, but won't outscore Sterling overall.

    Begovic
    Jones Alderwierld Moreno

I wouldn't do a -4 just to bring a defender in. Just do Siggy and Naismith then sit on the cash and see what happens next GW. You may need some cash for Augero or Falcao if they explode.

      It's concerning isn't it
My advice is try to find the extra 0.5 for Bardsley - he's a poor mans Ivanovic with similar style and attacking threat that comes with it

My backline is in bad shape! Selling Chester really don't wanna take a hit for this so its a 4.5 or less and Stoke seem the best by far right now. Wish I had the extra .5 for Bardsey 🙁 thanks anyways mate!

This is my defence Ivanovic Chester Hutton Dummett Wisdom .. Chester out for 2 more then a bad run of fixtures after that, Dummett lost his place and Hutton has the worst possible run of fixtures on the way. Was thinking Wilson for Chester for a while then get him back cant think of anything much better to do.

I kno im paying the price for goin cheap at the back 🙂 but im rly happy with my attack and was thinking the first bit of money I get from an injury loss of form etc from there I beef the back up with. Besides Ivanovic is worth 2 good defenders 😀

With your defence I would be nervous about bringing in someone who isn't 100% nailed as you then have 4 players who may get dropped. What about PVA and if Dummet comes back you can rotate

Chester out for someone more nailed is the correct call unless you wanna take the risk on Dummett or Chester retaining their place
Bear in mind Newcastle did ship 3 at home to Palace without Dummett....

Would love to hear your thoughts.

    Krul Elliot
    Terry Clyne Chester Hutton Wisdom
    Hazard Mata Ramsey Siggy Marney

    2 FTs, nothing itb.

      Mata to Sterling, yes 100%

tbh I think his potential is fairly diminished with Kun returning.

My next transfers would possibly be either
        A. Jove & Haz -> Lukaku & Fab (-4)
        or
        B. Jove & Roo -> Pelle & Falcao (-4)

Rooney > Balotelli comes to mind but Mata > Sterling seems like the best move imo.

If you're not interested in either then you can shuffle your defence a bit. Hutton won't be of much use soon and wisdom will drop to bench once all players are fit.

1FT. Which would you do first?(Or take a hit and do two)

A - Mata to Sterling or di maria
    B - Green to Begovic
C - Jovetic to Anyone (8.6 or less)
D- Chambers to 5.0 (could be 6.0 if i do jove to welbeck)

    Thanks in advance

My front 8, having already spent my free transfer:

    Fabregas, Ramsey, Sig, Sterling (Marney)

    Aguero Rooney Wickham

What would you do? I really don't want to do Rooney out, but I want Costa

Stoke are a solid outfit on an upward curve
I see no reason not to bring in a Begovic, Wilson, Bardsley or Diouf if you don't think Welbz will hit the ground running 🙂

Stoke kept something like 8 clean sheets last season if I'm not wrong which was less than a lot of other clubs. Not at home right now so can't look up for stats. Stoke under Hughes is different. But that's just my opinion.

Was gonan reply to a post by Kingskneww but perhaps it's worth a general comment (or not)

With Steve Bruce having signed Dawson that makes Curtis Davies and Dawson his two main CBs

While Hull have played 352 of late, having signed a wad of attacking midfielders in the window (none of whom can be expected to play wing back) surely he's gonna go with an aggressive 433 / 4231 formation?

Chester owners beware - he probably ain't getting back in the team any time soon IMHO

Guys, pretty new to wildcarding and I have a question. Are profits allowed to be made when wildcard is active. For example, if I have Naismith tonight and he rises .1 over the next 12 hours, when I sell him do I recieve the new value of 5.5?

May seem a silly question, but nevertheless.. 🙂

Always. Your profit when u sell a player will be halved of what the player has rised. So if a player from 9m when u bought rose to 9.4..u will get 0.2 profit. Should u want to buy the player again u would need to pay 9.4.

Note that price drop is different. A 9m player dropping to 8.8 means ur selling value is 8.8...not 8.9

In UFPL, there are teams on Sunday and Monday until GW14 and then again on GW16.

Have been using this info to pick players that I can swap in off my bench. All well and good.

I worry, though, that fixture changes will happen after I've finalised my GW4 -> GW20 squad.

Does anyone have wisdom apropos the nature of these fixture changes? I understand that they can be due to:

    1) Teams going through in CL/Europa/C1/FA cups.
    2) Sky Sport's schedule planning executives' will.

Am I correct in assuming that the teams most likely to be moved to a Sunday/Monday from GW15 -> GW20 are:

    a) The teams in European competitions?
    b) The teams with significant fan bases outside the UK?

Or am I being overly naive trying to plan for more than 8 games hence?

      • 13 Years
      11 years, 3 months ago

Surely the rescheduling due to European games is done up until Jan? I mean it's not like there's any uncertainty as to when those games will be as the fixtures have already been released.

The ones for TV have only been done to GW14 I think so should be fine until then. GW15-20 will change obviously, but usually it's the obvious teams like you say for the most part.

To be honest I thought about this approach in UFPL but ended up going with a really strong squad and then looked through about 9/10 game weeks and I have a fairly good spread across the Sat/Sun/Mon fixtures.

Seems to even itself out over time.

Playing my wildcard this week to get Falcao in. Lost a bit of money in the first few weeks due to some poor decisions which isn’t helping but considering this:

    Begovic – Fabianski
    Petiers – Taylor – Moreno – PVA – Colocinni
    Sig – Ramsey – Fabregas – Sterling – Boyd
    Falcao – Costa – Welbeck

    Thoughts?
