Every little point counts. With the mini-league gap between myself and co-host Granville widening by the week, my Mancunian friend can ill-afford to throw points aside in his bid to follow up last season’s victorious campaign.

In and around the usual ScoutCast regulars, Granville recalls the dilemma that saw him get away with benching Cesc Fabregas to the tune of just a single point. Will that prove costly?

We then join forces to run the rule over the accelerating Di Maria bandwagon, assess Rooney’s re-positioning and decide whether those steering away from Ramsey Street need to re-programme their sat navs.

Treasure this nonsense via this link or cling to these worldly goods via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I'm sticking with Rooney and Henderson this week instead of taking a hit, but I'm not overly optimistic about it.

I hope my "patience" is rewarded. That's one way to say it at least.

Henderson is the sort of player who could score in the derby. High-energy blood and guts sort of player in those sorts of games, and he's always making good forward runs. Getting rid of him for a hit would be really silly ahead of what could be another high-scoring derby.

You should look to ship Rooney out asap though as 10.4m is a lot for a midfield player who's limited to long-range efforts and has tough fixtures coming up.

5 for a goal, 2 for 90 minutes, and -1 for a yellow card. How is that 5 points?

I am thinking 7. Two assists, 90 minutes played, then one yellow. If he gets a bonus point, that makes it 8.

What is up my DZ brothers!
I am playing the Fox Sports Fantasy game and currently 17th overall, 2nd in NZ... have 3 transfers this week, current team is.....

    Courtois
    Baines, Clyne, Duff
    Ramsey, Siggy, Erik, Sterling
    Costa, Rooney, Welbz
    (Wisdom, Albrighton, Hutton)

thinking I will hold. See anything worth a trade team?

    B) Ade > Pelle / Welbeck

      Agree

Pelle - played midweek. QPR game supposed to be a certainty for saints goals and a win...
Rooney - out of position doubts
      Costa - injury/champ league doubts
Aguero - game time/ champ league doubts
Falcao - nobody has seen enough to be convinced yet

Personally if I had hazard I would captain him. I'm a Falcao and Di Maria owner. One of them will be getting the arm band

If I had Falcao in my team there'd be no doubt. Hazard also a good shout. As it stands one of AdM and Kun seems the logical choice. But I'm leaning towards Rooney for the differential.

I don't have Fabregas but I don't care if he's still rising. He will start dropping in price soon enough as people scramble to get rid. Tough fixtures and a deeper position doesn't bode well for him imo.

I didn't say deep, I said deeper. As a result of the Ramirez injury he'd have to play alongside Matic. Tougher fixtures means he won't be able to rush forward as much and will need to defend more.

he pops up in the attacking 3rd very often though with his late runs, usually gives him the time to have assessed the runs too. it's the final ball that counts.

seeing that time and time again. Hazard/Ramires/Willian take on defenders on the wings, play it back out to Fab who's outside the box, he's had the time to assess the runs, usually picks the best pass - goal.

non owner but i want to get him in soon.

    Hello everyone!

Am I good to go this week with this lineup? I used the WC last week due to the Debuchy injury plus underperforming players. I plan to stick with this lineup (aka no transfers used) but it would still be good to see what you guys think.

    Heaton
    Duff-Clyne-Cahill
    Siggy-ADM-Sterling-Ramsey
    Pelle-Falcao-Costa

At the moment, ADM is the C while Costa is the V.

My friends have opted for Costa as their C but heck, I may probably sleep this off tonight (I am from Southeast Asia) then decide tomorrow on whoever my C will really be.

It won't be as high-scoring as people expect. Both managers need to tighten the defenses up, and Martinez will be wary of leaving his team too exposed like in January so will likely play on the counter. I foresee a highly energetic but cagey game, finishing 1-0 or 2-1.

Generally high scoring, but Spurs have sucked the past few. Wouldn't be surprised if it continues high scoring. WBA and Burnley both have terrible offense. Better shot.

Didn't really think I'd be selecting a Burnley defender away over a Arsenal or Liverpool defender at home at the beginning of the season. Good on the Clarets

Trying to separate myself. My midfield is:

Sterling, Fab, ADM and the big question. Who do I want for number 4?

Here are a few of my thoughts:
    A Ozil
B Herrera (double Man U miss but the goals have been coming and I've got the other form United player.)
    C Downing

Trying to get away from the same ones everyone else has. Pelle is my Captain this week with Costa and Ulloa. As for D I'm starting Wisdom over Moreno, Ivan and Clyne. Mannone in goal.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

I'll go for A probably. I like United's attack but I just don't see Herrera maintaining this goalscoring form. As for choosing Ozil, if Wenger puts him as the #10, the returns will be back. But if Wenger resorts to using him in the wings yet again, problems will rise.

That's my thought…I agree. I am hoping he's the number 10. I might roll the dice. Gotta differentiate. Downing doesn't do it for me. Double mids on any team for me is something I try to steer clear of…thanks!

Ozil, good punt. Will inevitably bag an assist or two in a high scoring derby, you really can't go wrong w/ an Arsenal mid in an NLD. You have Welbz I'm guessing though.

Herrera no, if there's low faith in Rooney to score when he's in the hole, can't see how Herrera could outscore the lot of ManU attacking options. Even it is West Ham. At that price range a nice Tadic will do w/ good form & fixture. At least there If SoTo scores, he's bound to be involved in SOME way.

Downing, cheap punt against a mediocre ManU backline w/ low team morale & chemistry. You got come balls mah friend. I like that Downing punt, nice little ManU teabag also 😉

Ramsey, wtf?! Maybe next week at Chelsea but surely not in the NLD!

I'm benching Siggy this week, though I have to say, his head-to-head comparison with Ulloa was much closer than expected, even for the more attacking stats. Tough choice, and you can't go wrong with either imo. I just think Palace are a bit leakier and vulnerable to Leicesters pace and aerial threats than Sunderland are at home.

Just listened to the scoutcast, Finally seems to of dawned on Mark and Granville that team value does matter, they are already a million and a half down on some people.

Last week Mark said he liked the new system because there was no need to make early transfers, which cleary isnt the case, in fact we are forced into doing them even earlier through fear of an unexpected change

It's fairly easy to work out the likely double risers early in the Gameweek from TIR. If you're serious about gaining team value you have to jump on early and then hope the player's bandwagon doesn't plunge off an injury cliff.

Looks great but my issue with 5 solid mids has always been that there will always be a defender with a good fixture or a cheap forward that starts to pick to form that will grab a starting berth in your team from one of your mids creating a brutal selection head ache

Ulloa has scored against EVE,ARS,stk & now MUN. You could argue that Everton & ManU are leaking goals, but fact of the matter is that the little Argentine is proving to be fixture proof. These are all generally hard fixtures for a forward, Ulloa will dismantle Palace & Burnley, these are his first easy fixtures of the season.

Exactly. I would have kept Naismith if he hadn't got dropped vs Palace, but the simple fact is that I was planning on only using Naismith for his easier fixtures when Siggy had tough games, but since there's a big risk of him missing those easy league fixtures I preferred to move quickly for a replacement who's 100% nailed - and Ulloa was absolutely perfect.
