Every little point counts. With the mini-league gap between myself and co-host Granville widening by the week, my Mancunian friend can ill-afford to throw points aside in his bid to follow up last season’s victorious campaign.

In and around the usual ScoutCast regulars, Granville recalls the dilemma that saw him get away with benching Cesc Fabregas to the tune of just a single point. Will that prove costly?

We then join forces to run the rule over the accelerating Di Maria bandwagon, assess Rooney’s re-positioning and decide whether those steering away from Ramsey Street need to re-programme their sat navs.

Treasure this nonsense via this link or cling to these worldly goods via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Transfer options this week (2 FTs)

    A) Naismith > Pelle, Lovren > Bertrand = no hit
    B) Rooney > Pelle, Albrighton > ADM, Lovren > Chambers = 4-point hit

B has the upside of getting Di Maria in although Arsenal don't look like keeping any clean sheets. A, on the other hand- Southampton look a solid outfit with good forward players

A question to mainly Man Utd fans but anyone feel free to answer

Do you also get the same sense of unease transferring Welbeck into your team? Knowing that he's still the same player as what we have come to know over the years. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Danny fan - and would have liked to see him stay but he's never been prolific (played ooo I know) but even the golden opportunities you'd think he should score ..he doesn't.

I think this is the stumbling block for me putting him into my team, despite knowing it'll free up funds, give Arsenal coverage. I'm just worried of the weekly 2points.. Maybe with the occasional assist.

He's at his best when he has no more than a split second to think about his finish, like the one last weekend. Give him any more time and he'll usually contrive to cock it up.

The way I think though, is he might miss some chances but with all the creative players around him at Arsenal and him as the lone striker he will get a lot of chances and some of them will go in.

ON wc... what shall I change?

    Forster, Heaton
    Clyne, Baines, Wisdom, Duff, Chambers
Sterling, Di Maria, Tadic, Downing, Boyd
    Costa, Aguero, Welbeck

Maybe Sterling & Aguero out Hazard & Falcao in? Or anything else?

I wont get Fabregas, Hazard will get much more points from now on. And I can only do it instead of Sterling. I can also downgrade Baines and get Hazard instead of Tadic not Downing

i would do Heaton & Gilks and maybe another MID iso Boyd as otherwise you would have 4x Burnley, i.e. Tiote and then you could even upgrade Downing to Siggy or something

      1. skodaole2

My main concern is Sterling. I can upgrade him to Hazard doing the GK and a defender switch but since people are suggesting to keep i ll probably end up with this team. I want Downing, WHU are great and have pretty good fixtures to score. Thanks everyone for the comments, I ll probably keep Sterling

I would. As I say, I am a massive golfer and have played to a high level for years now, so can fully appreciate the highs and lows and all the rest of top quality match play golf. The swings for either side on the last few holes of that last Ryder Cup was incredible. Europe looked completely out of it until Poulter's gritty and determined fight back. Was amazing....

Yep, a lot went through him; he was on penalties, other set pieces (which Villa scored a lot from) and got bonus most weeks. I bet he was Jonty's first pick every season for a while 😉

Ah, I remember having Ireland when he went on a ridiculous run of scoring for Man City in the second half of the season. He was their best player that year but they bought a whole extra team in the summer and then he couldn't get a look in.

Seemed a shame at the time but since then he's come across as a bit of a tool so I don't feel so sorry for him any more.

I don't understand it though. I grew up with him and he was always the opposite as what he comes across as. Even if I happen to bump into him down home he always says hi and is just like he always was. Its hard for me not to like him.

Fair enough, perhaps he's been unfortunate in the way he's been presented/presented himself. I'm sure it must happen - some people will obviously be better at managing their public persona than others, I bet there are some right gits who we all admire and think are great too!

    re: Krulliot.

Which one should I start? Auto-sub should take care of most eventualities but I want the general consensus, currently I have Elliott starting and I'm going to rely on auto-sub to save the day if needs be.

If Elliot plays it's likely to be for a Krul red card, so chances are Elliot will score higher. Chances are he'll have a pen to save as well. Basically start Elliot.

and what if Krul gets a clean sheet, injures himself and gets subbed off at 65 min? Then Elliott comes in and if he concedes will get only 1 point max. This is just as likely as the red card so this tactic does not work

          1. Billy Gilmore
            • 13 Years

I'd say the chances of a GK doing a "Demel" are less likely than being sent off, although neither are particularly likely tbf.

Newcastle getting a CS is a funny one though 🙂

Am I good to go good people. Also a rmt would be appreciated

    Krul (Elliott)
    Ivanovic, Clyne, Moore (Dier, Hutton)
    ADM, Ramsey, Sterling, Fabregas, Siggy
    Costa (c), Pelle (Naismith)

    (a) I'm on Moore atm. I'm tempted to risk playing Dier due to his attacking potential. Both Moore & Dier probably won't get cs. So Moore or Dier.
    (b) Tempted to take a -4 hit - Krul out, Heaton in. I might just b/e but I'd be happy with a 2-3 point score with Heaton just so I don't have to see Krul as my 1st name on my team list.

Will be making my transfer later. Annoyingly Forster went up but waited to see if I had any injuries. 1 free transfer and 2.6 in the bank

    Krul
    Clyne Ivanovic Wisdom
    Ramsey Fabregas Sterling Siggy
    Rooney Costa Naismith

    Elliott Caulker Marney Hutton

    A) Krul to Forster
    B) Ramsey to Di Maria
    C) Naismith to Ulloa/Pelle/Welbeck

Is using a free transfer on a keeper a waste? I want Forster for the long term and want to give Ramsey and Naismith at least one more wee. Thoughts?
