The season could barely have started brighter for Raheem Sterling after the youngster grabbed two goals and an assist in the opening three Gameweeks for Liverpool. With Daniel Sturridge sidelined ever since, however, Sterling has struggled to replicate his early form, scoring just once and earning a pair of assists in the subsequent six Gameweeks.

Despite a weekend showdown against Newcastle on his agenda, Sterling is the most sold player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, with over 65,000 owners parting company in order to acquire the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Dusan Tadic and Cesc Fabregas.

In our second members article of the week, we take a look at his displays with and without Sturridge on the park in order to ascertain just why he’s failed to deliver.

      It's that conversion % that worries me. However we saw similar things with Ramsey and Yaya. It will regress at some point, but no point worrying until it does!

        It shouldn't do that much, most of his chances are because of good positioning and fantastic passes from Fabregas - he can't miss most of the time

          Oh yeah, I've still got him in my team! But it will regress because that kind of thing nearly always does. Something like 25% is normally considered really good for a striker. Hopefully it will be the same amount of goals with more shots!

          Fair enough, but he's first in chances created and has 10 goal attempts. He's such good value and a consistent point scorer.
