Arsene Wenger is “quite confident” Kieran Gibbs will overcome a hip problem in time for tomorrow’s visit of Burnley. Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has rated Papiss Cisse “touch and go” as the striker bids to overcome a knee problem in time for the Liverpool clash.
Reports in the local press indicate David Silva will miss the next three weeks with a knee problem sustained against Newcastle in midweek. Manuel Pellegrini is expected to clarify the situation in today’s lunchtime press conference.
