Jack Wilshere is a big doubt for Arsenal’s home clash with Burnley, who welcome back Dean Marney into midfield. West Ham’s Diafra Sakho is in with a chance of lining up against the Potters. Brendan Rodgers rules out Jose Enrique against Newcastle, who themselves could be without forward Papiss Cisse. Sadio Mane is set to return to training as he bids to prove his fitness ahead of Southampton’s KC clash, while the FA rescind Federico Fernandez’s three-match ban ahead of Swansea’s trip to Everton.

Arsene Wenger is “quite confident” Kieran Gibbs will overcome a hip problem in time for tomorrow’s visit of Burnley. The Gunners boss expects Jack Wilshere to miss out with a “very, very short-term” knee problem, whilst he also went on to confirm Theo Walcott is “not completely ready” and won’t start against the Clarets.

Sam Allardyce has revealed that Diafra Sakho is “touch and go” for the weekend, after injuring his shoulder during the win over Man City. Allardyce confirmed the Hammers will monitor the forward’s condition before Saturday, whilst James Tomkins and Matt Jarvis have recovered from their injuries and will make a return to the squad.

Jose Enrique will miss the reunion against former club Newcastle, with Brendan Rodgers confirming that the defender has an issue with his knee. The Reds boss has also conceded he expects Daniel Sturridge to remain sidelined until after the next international break, before talking up Fabio Borini’s prospects ahead of the Magpies clash and also hinting at a change of tactics for the weekend, after mainly operating with a 4-2-3-1 in Sturridge’s absence.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has rated Papiss Cisse “touch and go” as the striker bids to overcome a knee problem in time for the Liverpool clash.

Reports in the local press indicate David Silva will miss the next three weeks with a knee problem sustained against Newcastle in midweek. Manuel Pellegrini is expected to clarify the situation in today’s lunchtime press conference.

Sean Dyche has received a boost ahead of the trip to the Emirates, with news that midfielder Dean Marney is back in contention to face the Gunners after recovering from injury.

Sadio Mane is a doubt to face Hull as he bids to overcome an ankle injury picked up last week. Ronald Koeman has announced that the winger is expected to be part of the travelling squad on Saturday, should he come through training this morning.

Federico Fernandez will be available for Swansea’s trip to Goodison after successfully appealing the red card he received in the midweek cup exit to Liverpool. Elsewhere, midfielders Gylfi Sigurdsson and Ki Sung-Yeung are both back in training ahead of the Toffees test

Odds on Tomkins going straight back into the starting XI? Normally I'd imagine that'd be the case but apparently Collins had a good game last week.

One of Tomkins and Wilson will be leaving my team for Lord Baines this week, preferably the latter but I'm at the end of my tether with Tomkins.

Mersons predictions say 5 0 to arsenal, 1 - 1 in the Manchester derby and Chelsea 3 0... If this was the case, majority would captain arsenal players Sanchez and then welbeck and then costa / hazard and then aguero.
Is this a case of Gut over stats?

Fantasy wise, Captains are influenced by form ? I. E. Suarez last season
How many times has one been burned by team loyalty over fantasy fact? (what I'm facing in captaining aguero against a united team I normally back)

BUT then there is pure "feeling, Gut, heart" that sometimes just doesn't make sense but it's exciting and if it works, keeps you coming back for more! If not atleast you tried and you do the " should ofs" but then again, if you go against Gut and prefer logic, and turns out your gut was right, you probably mope about for the whole week and it still stings....
So who wins Gut vs logic?

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Jack Wilshere will miss Arsenal's clash with Burnley due to a knee injury.

The Arsenal boss also denied that Theo Walcott could be named in his starting line-up as he closes in on a first-team return after 10 months out of action after rupturing anterior cruciate ligaments.

"Theo Walcott is not completely ready. He's been out for too long to start," Wenger added.

I expect Theo to start after the intl break. 2 games left for sub cameos to build up fitness

Plus Wenger won't want Roy calling him up if he can help it, so will possibly deliberately hold him back.

Seems unlikely he starts for such a big game as MUN don't you think?

See my post above. Been thinking the same thing, but worried wenger might keep him in cotton wool for a little bit longer.

Good news for Sanchez owners. Means Ramsey will play alongside flamini or arteta. Sanchez gets the hole

Yeah! Sanchez is good in the wings but in the hole he's a different beast altogether.

Dunno about Everton keeping a clean sheet so that is a bit risky but more fun that way right? Could end up being massive

Nasri when he's fully fit I think. I'm keeping an eye on him, could be a good differential.

Won't nail him on though - Silva out for 3 weeks, but there is an international break in 2 weeks.

Really we're only looking at the next 2 games.

I fancy Jovetic to start in the hole, Nasri and Milner either side (Navas could replace either)
