Steven Fletcher scores twice as Sunderland grab a win at Palace. Vito Mannone drops to the bench as Costel Pantilimon earns his first start of the season, whilst Fraizer Campbell is in the points for the third home match in succession for Palace.

Fletcher at the Double

The Scotsman took his tally to four goals and an assist in the last four as the Wearsiders clinched a vital victory last night. Like QPR’s Charlie Austin, Fletcher is another forward whose contribution is looking crucial to his side’s survival bid – Sunderland have only scored six goals in the last six Gameweeks and the 5.3-priced frontman has now played a part in five of them. With Everton, City, Chelsea and Liverpool in the upcoming five fixtures, though, few will be willing to consider Gus Poyet’s main men right now.

Mannone Benched in Black Cats Reshuffle

Poyet finally swung the axe on his error-prone stopper last night as Costel Pantilimon took his place between the posts for Sunderland. In spite of his recent poor form, Mannone had proven a reliable source of save points for Fantasy managers, having chalked up at least one point for saves in seven of his nine appearances, but after last night’s omission, his 9.9% of Fantasy Premier League owners will be looking for an exit rout.

Absences Build for Sunderland

The Wearsiders look set to be without a couple of key first-team players for this weekend’s home clash against Everton. Patrick van Aanholt laid on his second assist of the season but was stretchered off with a possible dislocated shoulder shortly afterwards, whilst Lee Cattermole was true to form and fell off the suspension tightrope after earning his fifth caution of the campaign. Poyet is likely to turn to Liam Bridcutt (who grabbed an assist last night) to sit in front of the back-four against the Toffees, whilst elsewhere in midfield, a goal for Jordi Gomez and assist for Will Buckley could ensure they retain their weekend starting berths.

Campbell in the Points Again

The Eagles may be struggling in front of their own fans this season, with just one home win in five, but their 5.2-priced striker continues to benefit from Neil Warnock’s attacking approach. Campbell had scored against Leicester and Chelsea in the previous two at Selhurst Park and grabbed a somewhat fortuitous assist thanks to West Brown’s calamitous own goal last night. With three goals, an assist and three bonus points in his last six now, he looks the man most likely to deliver under the new manager, with last term’s top scorer Jason Puncheon once again overlooked as Wilfried Zaha continued on the right.

Defensive Frailties Continue for Warnock

The Palace boss partnered fit-again Scott Dann with Brede Hangeland in the heart of defence last night, with Damien Delaney – available after serving a one-match ban – left out of the squad altogether. The 3-1 defeat means the Eagles now have just two clean sheets in ten under their new manager and have worryingly conceded at least twice in the other eight matches – 19 goals against is just one fewer than the top-flight’s most porous defence (QPR, with 20) and underlines how quickly their defensive assets have fallen in the post-Pulis era.

Has anyone heard of the new forward from Chile at Arsenal "Alexis Sanchez". Apparently he's quite good. might be worth a look?

    from wikipedia:

Alexis Alejandro Sánchez Sánchez (Spanish pronunciation: [aˈleksis ˈsantʃes]; born 19 December 1988) is a Chilean footballer who plays for English club Arsenal and the Chilean national team as a forward, who is adept at playing as a striker or a wide forward.

After his debut season of first-team football with Cobreloa, Sánchez was signed by Italy's Udinese Calcio in 2006. After successful loans at Colo-Colo and River Plate, he began playing in Serie A. In 2011, he was signed by Barcelona for £25 million, becoming the most expensive transfer in Chilean football history.[6] Sánchez signed for Arsenal in July 2014 for a fee reported to be around £30–35 million, making him the second-most expensive signing in the club's history after Mesut Özil.

    Is Ivanovic still worth it?

Still good for a clean sheet but not looked a goal threat for a while, at what point does his extra 2.0 value become too much to keep him?

Nothing really which is kind of the issue. Back 3 of Baines - Ivan - Berty, and I have far greater issues in my team than Ivanovic so this is more of a hypothetical at this stage. I'm just curious to see if people think his points haul so far this season is worth his price tag, and how he is predicted to perform going forward.

I would sell him, 2 million this year can do a lot in midfield or forward areas. He will score again but not worth investing that much in to wait for it, when others can bring in could points per pound

Already used FT this week, but next week I don't wanna play Foster (CHE away), and my other keeper is Mannone, who I need to get rid of for obvious reasons.

Who is the best option for 4.5 mil?

Baring in mind my defence is:

Baines, Bertrand, Chambers (Hutton, Moore) which rules out Guzan and Schmeichel as options.

    I was thinking Krul. Thoughts?

I have Begovic, who's lost value this week! 🙁 and really want to shift him, but not for a hit so I'll be playing him against Spurs and hoping for the best.

I have Krul/Foster.. They have quite good rotating fixtures until GW18 (NEW, QPR, whm, WHM/bur, hul, AVL, SUN), and if you ignore mun/MCI in GW18, they actually rotate good until GW 30.

CS from both this GW means that it may happen now or then.. I would say go for it!

The only way youll get Sanchez in is dropping Fabs, ADM, or a striker - all of which could backfire -you cant have them all

Boring transfer advice - who to get rid of?

    A) Hutton (£4.1m - inj?)
    B) Moore (£4.0m - dropped?)

Wow that is a boring transfer. I wouldn't bother with either and let them sit on your bench unless you have 2FT and nothing to do.

What's your thinking on holding Saints players when our fixtures turn sour in a couple of weeks time?

Ps- nice season so far 🙂

I'm dumping Forster but probably keeping Clyne and Pelle. I think Pelle will still nick a few here and there and Clyne can be rotated out for the real stinkers.

        Same.

I'll bench Forster (I have Krul) but I'll keep and mostly likely play Clyne and Pelle. It's going to be an interesting few weeks. I'm optimistic.

For a hit...guess that means not worth it...how about tadic to downing? I mean, tadic is a great player but he isnt a real fantasy producer. HE may have 54 pts but largely bcoz he got a huge week 2weeks ago. Otherwise if u look at his history, hes never gotten double digits. He reminds me of modric when he plays for spurs, a great talented player in real life, not fantasy.
