With the third international break of the season upon us, we’re afforded time to assess the leader contenders in the Fantasy Football Scout leagues across in a variety of games. With leagues in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Ultimate Fantasy Premier League, Sky Sports and the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) Champions League game, there’s plenty to catch up on.

Fantasy Premier League

Adam Stuckert sits atop the Scout League with a total of 758 points after the first 11 Gameweeks. Adam – who notched 72 points in the previous round of fixtures – had the likes of Tim Krul, Nathaniel Clyne, Leighton Baines, Alexis Sanchez, Sergio Aguero and captain Graziano Pelle to thank for steering him to number one in the overall standings.

Vasil Raykov is just seven points behind in second spot, or third overall. He also has the likes of Baines, Clyne, Sanchez, Pelle and Aguero on board, with Brad Guzan, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Nacer Chadli and Diego Costa amongst his starters as he racked up 89 points last time around despite, like Adam, handing the armband to Pelle. Intriguingly, Vasil is the only one of our top five to have played his wildcard at this stage.

In third spot sits Matthew Furlong, on the back of a 92-point Gameweek 11. His decision to captain Aguero paid off handsomely, with the usual suspects such as Baines, Clyne, Sanchez, Sigurdsson, Chadli and Costa all amongst the points last time around.

Matthew sits just one point ahead of both Petter Gullestad and Mariusz Fyrstenberg. Petter registered 79 points in Gameweek 11, with his decision to captain Aguero reaping rewards, whilst he also had the likes of Baines, Sigurdsson and Sanchez as part of his starting XI. Another one to hand the armband to Aguero, Mariusz delivered 82 points – he’ll be hoping his decision to retain United’s Angel di Maria will prove a differential amongst our top five.

Thanks to those five managers, we’re currently retaining our spot at the top of the League of Leagues. You can join our classic league using the code 11856-4526.

Hitesh Gulati is a new entry at number one in the Scout Members league, which sits fifth in the league of leagues. He sits fifth in the overall standings, despite deciding to ignore the consistent Leighton Baines to this point, with 749 points accrued. Peter Chesley earns second spot with a total of 731 points, just edging Matt Summers into third by a single point.

Ultimate Fantasy Premier League

Lawrence White is the leader of our UFPL Scout league, after a 99-point haul in Gameweek 11 took his total to 884 for the season – second overall. Joe Hanmer is in second spot with his total of 869 points placing him 13th in the world, whilst Geoff Shotter is 13 points further behind in third spot. To join our UFPL league, use the code 524-87.

Sky Sports Fantasy Football

Jason Callender leads the way in the Scout league with a total of 826 points – that’s enough for third place in the overall standings and earns him a 38-point lead over our second place manager, Ryan Hutton. Martin Smith takes third spot after Gameweek 13 of the Sky Sports offering, with a total of 782 points helping to 32nd spot overall. The winner of our Sky league, which is also top in the league of leagues, wins £1,000. To join up, the league name is FFScout and the code is 8009000.

Champions League

Our official Champions League game this season is the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) offering – a free, reliable and easy-to-use Fantasy football app. After four rounds of Matchdays, Daniel Lord heads the Scout League with 328 points, whilst Waleed Cherif (314 points) and Simon Gow, on 313 points, grab second and third respectively. There’s an iPad mini on offer to the winner – the league name is Fantasy Football Scout and the pin is 11155.

We’ve set up another league for those still following the official Champions League game. Simon Butt is the leader on 316 points – 28th overall – and is followed by sidharth91 and gkalaf on 315 and 313 points respectively.

Nah, that's too much. But an extra FT would give you insurance against all the annoying injuries. Maybe it could be one that you couldn't roll over though - use it or lose it.

      @7shades......

I'm not here to debate again... you destroyed me. 😛

I think it is basically the ultimate stats vs opinion dilemma.

You're right... the stats and logic suggest Hazard/Chelsea can win and score plenty of penalties. It's just that nagging doubt that relying on penalties will end in failure. And his poor form and regular blanks make him such a painful player to own (been there, done that this season!).

I'd love to own a steady Hazard. 😀 But the constant disappointment, and the fear of selling before an inevitable haul make it too painful. 🙁

(Although, I'll obviously return to this rejected lover, tail between my legs, at some point this season! 😛 )

Well, who would ever take that seriously. Off the top of my head i`d rate Hazard somewhere between 5th and 10th in the league, most likely at the end of that scale honestly.

On another note; why does Bale think that hair looks good?

                  superlatives sell papers.

He was asked about Bale vs Hazard since they are the media darlings of the two sides, doubt the likes of Agüero and Ron Vlaar ever crossed his mind.

DG, there was no destruction, its just a case of trying to remain objective and looking for data to back something up.

(Also, going with "i think/don't think" gives you space to breathe in an argument, rather than "this will/won't happen")

I actually agree with the point that Hazard is struggling to justify £10m just now, and don't feel as uncomfortable as i ought to not owning him. That said, I'm fully prepared for him to bust out a 15 pointer anytime soon!

And there you have Hazard in a nutshell! 😀 Impending doom for owners and non-owners alike.

To be honest, you've actually made the prospect of getting Hazard a lot more tempting! 🙂

Damn it! 😛 I mean you've made Hazard seem a good logic-based pick, rather than the temperamental and explosive image that I currently have based on his reputation. If you keep him for a long time, chances are he'll score more points than most.. accept the blanks, enjoy the hauls. Can't get him in right now, but you never know soon.... 😀

this is typical hazard fpl scoring. He's always tearing apart defences but the final ball/shot is not up to scratch. Leads to blanks and unpredictable hauls. That's why you just get him for a stretch. Think i'll get him in this gw actually

I got Austin, both WH and QPR have good fixtures, Sakho has been more consistant but Austin seems to be in better form right now (or could be the next Ulloa, who knows). Austin on penalties and cheaper gave him the edge when I was picking between the 2.

The past 2-3 games ive seen both Arsenal and QPR, QPR as a team have had way more energy and attacking prowess than Arsenal, and Austin seems very on it at the moment. Looking very sharp. Whilst Welbeck i think is looking pretty meh.

And QPR have scored 2 in 3 of their last 4 games, which all included Chelsea/Liverpool and City.

I'd like to say we're unlucky. But paying wastes of space like Anderson and permacrocks like Evans means this really isn't that much of a surprise for United fans who knows their arses from their elbows.

Arsenal on the other hand are a lot of pansies run by a board and a manager who spend the bare minimum to appease the fans. So they can't count themselves unlucky either.

It's not all luck. Have read some really interesting articles on why Arsenal get so many injuries (training style, environment etc.) so perhaps LvG has similar methods to Wenger.

When you have a high number of injuries consistently over a number of seasons, luck is much less of a factor. Fact is something is lacking in their physichal team, even though they`ve spent hundreds of millions on it.

How does Blind getting injured playing for the Netherlands fit into this? Disregarding the perpetually injured players like Evans and Jones, the rest of it is very bad luck.

Sure, single injuries happen and those can be accredited to bad luck. Maybe. Injuries sustained at international duty could also be down to mismanagement, like for instanstance Sturridge for England.

Fact remains that United (amongst other teams) have too much injuries to ever blame it all on bad luck. Its like that one guy at the blackjack table that never wins because hes unlucky. Do you consider United to be THAT much more unlucky than other top teams with less injuries?

Why would you go and blame mismanagement for Sturridge's injury. Look at his injury record over the years.

We also decided it worth the squeeze to add to our issues by bringing in Falcao who's nearly 30 coming off a major knee injury. We don't half do ourselves any favors do we.

Which was the reason we haven't bought him yet. It's just a rather expensive trial. Let's see how he gets on the rest of the season, we're only just a quarter of the way through.

Yeah. But we weren't exactly hurting for strikers were we. Don't get me wrong. I love Falcao. Has the potential to be a legend. But it's very unlikely. And then what kind of shelf life will he have even if he does get back properly?

Because the club`s apparatus has developed a specific routine for him, and over the course of Rodger`s reign over the club, Sturridge has had less injuries than previous years. Hodgson/England clearly didnt feel the need to respect this program, and thus they deserve blame.

When it comes from Liverpool fans, Hodgson always gets the blame. Never seen such bad blood towards an ex manager.

Anyway it's just not true, Sturridge is always injured.

Can you really blame those of us that do? He brought nothing but shame to the club, even admitted to buying a player "so he would have someone on the inside of the wardrobe". Just how silly is that?

Sturridge is injured, alot. I agree, and thats not the point. The point is he`s been injured less and the people at Liverpool Football Club are actively and specifically working on things to prevent that. When the England team/Hodgson completely ignores that, you blame them.

If your infant goes to school having a sprained ankle and the gym teacher forces said infant to participate in full PT, you`d blame the school/teacher, right?

it definitely is not due to bad physical training.
reckless tackling and stupid players maybe.

but feel free to explain to me how physical training leads to a dislocated shoulder from a tackle.

I never said it was down to bad physichal training. I only said it wasnt all bad luck. His injury specifically is down to him tackling like a moron, much like almost all of the injuries Phil Jones sustains.

But, i guess if you wanted to, you could say that his shoulder might be overly tense from too much weight training and that could have helped trigger it. Im not going to do that though.

Rojo is the Argentine Phil Jones only with worse hair and passing ability. He'll injure himself and others again and again. Meanwhile when he's healthy we'll be benching superior talents like McNair for him. Great business by us.

Yup. Rojo is your Salif Diao/El Hadji Diouf. Produce a good world cup, and suddenly he`s your saviour. Only he`s not. McNair actually looks really, really good. Rojo does not. I like it.

As a rival fan I would too. McNair should be one of the first names on the teamsheet. He's a fantastic prospect. What's the point of letting players who've proved they can't stay fit constantly disrupt the backline by coming back, trying to play themselves into form and getting injured again.

                  I'm at my wit's end.

The two games ive seen him, hes been absolutely sublime. Not just for his age, overall. It seems worrying that this is someone LVG just randomly found in the youth team and had no knowledge about previous to injuries forcing his hand. If thats the case, then i`d be worried. I hope to see you continue use of the bisquit boys for a long time coming.

One of my first concerns I expressed to my United supporter mates early on was that LvG would be relying on Giggs to clue him in on the youngsters. I don't trust Giggs at any level of management or scouting, never mind the top level. Yet he's our #2. Ridiculous.

Anyone care to guess the top 5 penalty earners (clubs) since 2002?
Obviously those who've been relegated are immediately penalised as its total earned and not average per season.

Are Liverpool really high on that list? Previous to last season i cant remember us getting a ton of penalties. While Woy and Kenny were managing the club i vaguely remember us getting shafted out of a ton of penalties. Mind you, ive tried to forget most of that period.

I wasnt trying to be "like that" and say OH WE NEVER GET ANY PENALTIES and only remember the bad times, i honestly didnt remember. I just had a vague memory of us getting some poor penalty decisions in that period. I guess its easier to remember when there wasnt a whole lot of other stuff to pay attention to.

And afaik, it was all Commoli`s work to get Suarez in. I honestly dont believe Hodgson or Kenny did anything to help further the club. I think most of the honor for that should go to Benitez, and whatevers left over to Rodgers.

Benitez set up our youth teams and infrastructure, and a lot of the talents he signed back then as kids are now blossoming. People might have their jokes and what not, but he was a fantastic manager for our club. So sad that he got outplayed so hard by that one Fergie interview.

        PL PENALTY EARNERS

        Liverpool (74)
        Chelsea (73)
        Manchester United (68)
        Arsenal (63)
        Manchester City (63)
        Villa (56)
        Spurs (51)
        Newcastle (49)
        Everton (46)
[Numbers are over 12.25 (ish) seasons]

Over the past 5 full seasons:

        City (35)
        United (35)
        Liverpool (34)

Hazard missed just 33 minutes of Premier League football in the whole of December and January last season.

I've actually written something on this (in the pipeline), and Hazard's lack of rotation is certainly a big plus point compared to Oscar, for example.

      Carrick

      Herrera Rooney

      Mata/Adnan RvP AdM

      or

      Carrick

      Herrera AdM

      Mata/Adnan

      Rooney RvP

Won't really affect us that much as long as Carrick's fit. Blind hasn't exactly set the world alight in the holding role. Whatever Carrick lacks due to age he'll make up with or more in discipline.

      Question

When voting in the captain's poll do you

      a) Vote for whoever you think is the best captain, even if you don't own them

      b) Vote for who you are captaining

        Personally, A. But I guess a lot do B.

And I bet a lot play it safe, despite thinking they own someone who will score better. (e.g. Aguero v Costa this week)

          I own Costa and Aguero

Has to be Aguero for me

On pens, incredible home form and more likely to get BAPs

            11 years, 1 month ago

Yeah, I guess it depends how much weight you put on ownership. But I guess it's nearing the stage where Aguero might edge it at the top? Just guessing on that, though..

if he learns how to score goals and assist consistently, he could become as good as Ribery.
Haz seems to be less injury prone and is still young, so might even surpass him.
