I agree with what seems to be the consensus that Costa isn't worth value for money, but how much does him being such a highly % owned player make him close to being essential?
Aguero out has probably heightened his 'essential' status
I dislike this defensive way of playing. One of the reasons I've risen over the last few weeks is I've gone without Costa.

This is often undervalued. Easy to go safe but you don't rise (or fall) so much.
I've never owned Costa. Think Fabregas makes him look extremely good
Pick the players that score the most points. I don't think Costa at 11m allows the rest of my squad to score the most and would much rather get Austin in.

Narrowed down my Aguero replacement to these options (the stuff in brackets is later transfers):
A) Costa (along with Eriksen -> Yaya)
B) Costa (along with Kane -> Austin and Clyne to Baines)
C) Bony (along with Kane -> Austin, Eriksen -> Yaya and Clyne -> Baines)
D) Lukaku (along with Kane -> Austin, Eriksen -> Yaya and Clyne -> Coleman)
E) Dzeko/Jovetic (along with Kane -> Austin, Eriksen -> Yaya and Clyne -> Baines)

JokeStrikers generally lose BPS points for shots missed/offsides - It's often an advantage to score and get subbed off because of this. It's one of those things that mean the 3 BP guy is often not the MOTM.

Sucks that he's out though, as a puristI'm suspicious, no physio or person in the know would say his ligaments aren't "broken" because you can't break a ligament. You can tear or rupture it but they never ever say broken. Also, still doesn't identify which of the ligaments it is we're dealing with which you'd expect someone in the know to be told about.

The fact Ulloa scoring an open goal and playing only 45 gets him 2BP, meanwhile a defender playing the full 90, and scoring the winner only gets 1BP is frankly a joke. What are they doing up there in FPL HQ?
