As many of you may have noticed, the EA Sports Index has already been published on the Premier League site. This, of course, is how the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) will break down the Bonus Points in this season’s game.

Many of the names are as we anticipated, though what’s something of a surprise is Shay Given, with 5 saves in Aston Villa’s 0-0 draw at Fulham, looks as though he’s earned no Bonus Points, despite keeping the Cottagers at bay. Newcastle’s Steven Taylor, on the other hand, is the top-rated player on the Index for the goalless Newcastle-Arsenal game. Wigan’s Victor Moses, Man of the Match in many press sources with 9 successful dribbles and 3 shots, is also likely to miss out.

As expected, goal scoring is the main factor- by the looks of things, Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney, Ivan Klasnic and Steven Fletcher are the highest-rated players on the EA Sports Index for their respective games and seem set to grab all 3 Bonus Points.

Fantasy Football Scout will, of course, be breaking down the Bonus in full for the Premier League and you can expect our article on the matter to be published later today.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I'm taking a holiday from the site for a few days until the dust settles on everyones moaning. The Baps aren't good but we need to deal with it. My team getting another run out this week before I make any changes. Once the final game of GW is over hopefully the FPL site will look better...

Soon we'll all need an advanced degree in statistical analysis to figure out how BP are calculated.

If FPL wanted to make the game better for the casual fan, then they failed.

I play PES. Always have done, but I don't think this is going to hugely put it in EA's face, unless it's done on a mass level, which won't happen, either.

thinking about drafting in walcott when arsenals fixtures improve, he scores goals. Him Bale/VDV and nani in mid field with saha zamora and carroll/bent upfront, get the goalscorers in!

    totally agree with The Buzzard
"am really annoyed that scores won’t update in real time and league positions are not done after each days matches. This is a serious problem i think and takes away a lot of the enjoyment for the serious ff addict."

no break down of each players score in player information.
i.e. pts for mins played, assist, goals etc... just the total..

rooney is my gw1 nemesis. in the past 3 seasons i've always started the season with him, always stongly considered captaining him but the only time i did it was last year when it cost me 12 points doing so over drogba. three 50-50s, wrong every time and 26 points sacrificed. next year wayne, next year!

Granny, I know there's a million and one things need sorting first, but I saw you were making a list of problems with FPL. Another I'd like to add is you have to type your email and password in EVERY TIME you want to log in, it isn't saved. Gets rather annoying.

As I said, not really that important but if you're passing on a list of their cock-ups pop that one on as well please.

what should have been great publicty for EA sports, having their stats machine evaluating play and providing statistics, however the scores from this gameweek have totally rubbished their system in its entirity.
Not only are the points gained by EA Sports PPI irrelevant to the fantasy game, but also give no indication to the nsture of the matches played.
I watched all the live games over the weekend and felt that the BP should largely have goen to: Torres/Huth/Bosingwa, Rooney/Young/Scharner and Gervinho/Barton/Colocini
Only the goalscorer out of these got recognition.
    RUBBISH.
GET RID OF IT ASAP - it will spoil the whole game.

this weekend really has been a big letdown

it might be down to the fact i had a pretty poor GW, had a nice looking team on paper, then none of these usually reliable players do anything worthwhile.

then the fpl comes and shits all over the weekend even more with its bonus points system which is just ridiculous, awful website, numerous bugs and errors that should have been sorted out before the site went live.

fair play it's early days, but i can't even look at any of my rivals' teams, what is the point in that! that is where the excitement is, looking at your team and everyone else's while the matches are going on. i hope they're going to change it so we can view our points like before.

and wtf happened to the bonus points, i knew it was gonna be different, but no ashley young?

    fpl - sellouts!

What I dont understand about the new bonus points is that they dont tie in with the inflated values for players seen as 'influential' for their teams. It was always easier shelling out 12m on Lampard, becasue you knew that if Chels won, they he'd get some bonus points - because of his all round influence. Same deal with RvP etc.
Im not saying it was necessarily the right way to do it, but it made sense in relation to the different values. If goal scoring is so vital to the points, who, for instance, is not going to go for the cheaper Hernandez (when fit) over Rooney?

after all the messing about have 69 points with Y.Toure to play tonight, am in turmoil though, have 0 in the bank, do I take off Suarez and bring in Bent seeing as they have easier fixtures the next two weeks, problem is I much rather fancy Suarez in the long run but with the undoubted increment that will come I don't think i'll have enough to buy him back :-s
