Before we draw a line firmly under the first Gameweek, we’ve decided to analyse some individual performances over the weekend. By looking at the Opta stats of Fernando Torres, we can see what his Sunday showing at the Britannia offered in comparison to his average displays for the Blues last term. The same applies to Robin Van Persie- no goals from the Dutchman at St James on Saturday night, but how did his game hold up?

In this first Members article of the active Fantasy season, we also take a look at Victor Moses and Ashley Young’s Man United league debut, weighing up what the pair’s new roles this season have offered so far…

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Yo, RMT -

    Ruddy, Vorm
A Cole, Kompany, Wes Brown, Senderos, Simpson
    Cahill, NZog, Sinclair, Moses, Hoolahan
    Torres, Rooney, Suarez

I like this team… not sure why.

I think there is good value in Cahill for 4 weeks.

    Yo

Two home games in the next six. Plenty of rotation with Nasri and Tevez to come in.

You could save 4.5 million and get a different Wolves defender.

      DOnt like Yaya either.

Although it sounds like a silly question I have to ask.

Where can I see the Fantasy Premier League points for the previous season? I looked at the fantasy stats but unless my two glasses of wine have affected me more then I thought I cannot see them.

    Many thanks in advance!

I'm starting to think about going with no Man City attacking cover, given Nasri signing and fact that, BOL aside, their next few fixtures aren't as attractive as others with good attacking options (eg Villa, Chelsea, Everton, even Utd have next 2 at home).

Someone please convince me this isn't crazy...

Wenger has financed a brand new 60k+ stadium in what was then the most expensive city in the world to do so. I can't think of another manager to have managed this feat and kept his team in the top division. People constantly overlook that, which upsets me a wee bit.

    IMO Wenger is a God.

At the moment he is dealing with 2 bottomless pit clubs (chelsea & man city) and 1 club with more pull (man utd), as well as the other usual suspects at home and abroad. He cannot afford to throw money around for average players like Liverpool. He will make some astute signings and Arsenal will come through this period all the stronger. Wilshere will captain the side to glories aplenty in the future.

Barcelona took well over a decade to build, and Wenger will prevail.

From what I saw of him at Lille, I think he deals in frustration.

However, he ultimately does the business with goals/assists.

He's the kind of player I can see myself disliking, but ultimately accepting his contribution is valuable.

I think that's an exaggeration. In Rafa's final season, the players looked fed up of a manager who they no longer believed in. I don't think this is the case at Arsenal.

We lacked creativity, but that's because we missed a handful of out most creative players (or ex-players in the case of yet-to-be-replaced Cesc Fabregas). We still beat the side who finished 4th in Serie A, and kept a clean sheet, despite having a rubbish defence (apparently).

I'm sticking with Drogba personally. I thought he would have started against Stoke but surely will against WBA with Malouda/ Kalou bein rather ineffectual in the first match. I have a feeling it will be Droggers who does the busines, not Torres. Sticking my neck out here but I guess we'll see.

I think he`ll start with both this time. Cant see him dropping Torres after 1 game, i can see changes in the midfield area if anything.
Im guna give him 1 game to prove himself if not then he is out for good with a straight swap for Aguero.

No, as Man City will do well and Kompany and Silva are definite starters in a season where rotation will annoy many Fantasy managers. Yaya Toure also seems a definite starter.

Aguero is the only one on danger of not starting next match as City will rotate their big guns and Aguero may not be fully match fit yet although he seems to do quite well with only 30 minutes!

    Lost on the previous post.

These two teams would dominate the premiership. Their football is different class at the moment.

      Completely agreed.

BTW - that "lost on the previous page" thing used to annoy me, but with the recent post-inflation, it's wholly acceptable.

    Kompany, Bosingwa, Jagielka (Enrique, Simpson)
    Malouda(vc), Cahill, N'Zogbia, O'Hara (Moses)

This article hypes Torres and Moses but both got a 0 in the PPI index. Carroll got -10 FFS.

What are these players doing wrong that negates all the things they are doing right???

    Can anyone suggest a reason?

Carroll had 7 shots, only 1 on target. Presumably that's not a good thing in terms of PPI.
