As if out of sympathy for the Fantasy Premier League, or podcast recording software crashed at the death this week. Finished. Kaput.

Panic ensued – hands on head there were cries of “I can’t go through that again” from host Mark as I desperately attempted to recover our lost words. Luckily, temporary files restored, our fifty fourth episode was rescued and rebuilt like Ledley King’s knee. Hopefully it won’t collapse again next week – like Ledley King’s knee.

Within it you’ll find unusually muted tones as Mark and I dissect the events or rather “non-events” of the weekend. Frustrations vented, this week’s broadcast picks up to its usual pace and departs on an optimistic note.

    It was on the BBC that Mikel is available for the next game, and that he knew about his dad when he played the first game. Is he not a decent option for the next few weeks?

      For max 3 points + bonus, no chance of him scoring. Maybe with this new bonus system, but I don't think anyone has figured it out well enough yet.

        For 5.0 I think he is a decent punt for a cheap midfield player, but yeah he will only be getting 3 pts max.

      front 3 is expensive but risky at the same time. Torres could as easily score 2 points or 24. Same for bent. After all that has been said about arsenal being leaky at the back, next week is still a home game for them. Needs rooney for some solid returns each week, even if their fixtures are tough.

      Maluda played rubish last weekend. no reason to believe he will play well this weekend. If you want to gamble, why not gamble on T cahil? AV look good for lots of clean sheets this season. Try to get some AV in the back. maybe collins for jags

    If you were to pick an XI for the next two games only who would they be? Am asking because tomorrow morning I'm going on holiday for ten days with no access to the Internet. So I'm gonna chose 11 to start and then wild card when I'm back!

        Yep that looks ok! Lol - may hav to slim down in some areas, but the principle looks great, thx.

        On a separate note, as a fellow villain do you really think McLeish will be as defensive as everyone says esp. at home? I don't but I think I'm in the minority!

    Torres, Bent & Rooney - best forward line for this gamesweek?

    Bolton and Man City I see as 1-1 so will wait on Aguero until gw4. Suarez appeals with Arsenal's depleted defence but am slightly worried how Liverpool went off the boil in the second half at home v Sunderland.

    Saha also has possibilities but Everton were sometimes unconvincing v easy teams at home last season, although Saha is best when fresh.

      Yes to the forward line, and completely agree with the Siarez comment.

      With Saha its a question of having him when he hits his purple patch... I'm rubbish at calling when he comes good (been stung there...) But I have noticed he has started a season or two very well (and then gone off the boil...). He's not for me tho'.

      Nani had one average game and people write him off! He plays well against strong opposition and he will want to prove himself against tottenham! BUT VDV looked good today!!(as did defoe!)

    Watson on penalties is a big upside compared to moses i think. formica plays upfront, right? anyone taking a punt on him?

      Better players out there than Ferguson - see my post above.

      I would worry about Malouda too.

      I have gone for Young over Nani as I think he is less of a rotatio risk playing on the left.

        not much chance of all 3 of my subs being drafted in so happy to put in ferguson for £4m. cheapest that there is and i need ever bit of the £100m.

      I'm having real problems with Chelsea too. Got Lamps at the moment but genuinely worried that he's not going to be value for money this year, fantasy wise.

      Not keen on Malouda and would like to know Torres definitely starts every game (and starts scoring) before I plonk £11m down for him.

      Very tempted to downgrade Frank for VdV, but would leave me with no Chelsea attack.

      What do you think peeps?

        Ive gone for Torres. He seems to be the main man under AVB and I agree with your Lamps assessment.

        As mentioned above, I am having trouble with my higher vale mids....VDV might be a good option, but surely not for the next 2 weeks?

        Don't worry about lamps. He will deliver. He ALWAYS delivers fantasy football wise, it won't be any different thisnyear. And when he does if you don't have him you will have a nightmare tearing your team apart & rebuilding to fit him in... I can't believe there isn't more interest in him this year to be honest

          Lamps regardless of age or regardless of playing deeper......is always a pest for points!

          Look at it this way if it doesn't happen at least it's an easy transfer to replace what with the 12m price tag.

        If you wait until they fire, then you will lose any head start in a season where everyone has more access to info through "the scout" and a WC gw2!

        Equally....if you gamble and get it wrong you lose the headstart! But thats the reason-get in before everyone else does! Up to you which of the 4 you go for!
