As if out of sympathy for the Fantasy Premier League, or podcast recording software crashed at the death this week. Finished. Kaput.

Panic ensued – hands on head there were cries of “I can’t go through that again” from host Mark as I desperately attempted to recover our lost words. Luckily, temporary files restored, our fifty fourth episode was rescued and rebuilt like Ledley King’s knee. Hopefully it won’t collapse again next week – like Ledley King’s knee.

Within it you’ll find unusually muted tones as Mark and I dissect the events or rather “non-events” of the weekend. Frustrations vented, this week’s broadcast picks up to its usual pace and departs on an optimistic note.

          Really, it's a throw of the dice, but I'd go with Sess.

          You can always down grade to better player later.

        Cech out and Baines is only there due to attacking potential really...Cole much more def wise and a bit of attacking.

            I thinking / planning (dangerous I know!) to maybe go Cole for 2 weeks with their easier games, hope for a backlash from QPR and then Everton have a tough away game I believe, then make the Cole -> Baines switcheroo on GW 4.

          Both will probably be FPL gold, it's hard to have both tho and I think with defenders a cleanie is bread and butter, I don't feel I can rely on Everton for that and I suppose it's tough to really on a defender for attacking points.

            I would agree with that and have had Cole up til now. Baines is Baines and we all know what he can do. Fixtures are good and the dwg will hopefully be announced soon.

          I was going to double up with Bos as well, but decided against hit. It could all go horribly wrong with rotation of both players at the same time. Probably going with Young of Villa instead of Bos.

          Plenty of time to change my mind though...

      Pretty good effort.. Strong all round.
      Think we have to give it a couple more games before we can see trends- then we can make concrete decisions. For the coming weekd this looks fine.

    The more RMTs I see on here the more it seems that everyone is just picking from the same really small group of players

    I think the games scoring needs tweaking slightly. I'd like to see something like 1pt for every three tackles and 1pt for every three completed passes. This would really expand the field of legitimate midfielders that people could realistically go for

    I just dont think its right that there are so many great players that you just can't go near for FF purposes even although they are often the best players in their respective sides, especially in tight games, eg Mikel, Modric, Lucas, Fletcher, De Jong etc etc

    Given the stats that go into the new PPI system, I dont see why this couldnt be implemented and I think it would open up a new aspect to picking a team?

        These guys are key to their teams. Break up play, recover the ball, first stage of turning defence back into attack

        I've got to be honest, I was guilty of judging Alonso by his FF stats over the years, and was not that bothered to see him go because it looks like on paper that he does nothing, where as actually he was the linch pin of the whole team

        I'm just saying that the holding midfielder role is massive in the real life, and they should find some way of incorporating that into the game

        Noted, but I think it remains to be seen what kind of player gets rewarded with this new system over the long term

      Frankly, the less FPL bugger about with this marvelous game the better. Changes made to date are all for the worse as far as I can judge them, albeit, very early in the season.

      It wasn't broke, it isn't (too) badly broke, so leave off, I say.
