The final match of Gameweek 22 gets underway at Goodison this evening as Everton prepare for the visit of Tony Pulis’ West Brom. The new Baggies boss steadied the ship with a 1-0 home win over Hull in his first league match in charge but faces a tough task to turn around his side’s woeful away form, with just two points accrued in their previous five road trips.

Saido Berahino has netted five times in two matches across all competitions since Pulis’ appointment, though, and will fancy his chances of breaching a backline that has conceded in each of the last 11 Gameweeks. The likes of Andre Wisdom and Joleon Lescott are also on Fantasy radars as we look to the “Pulis effect” to transform the West Brom defence.

For the hosts, Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas will be looking to kick on from their midweek cup displays at West Ham. Both grabbed a goal apiece in the Upton Park defeat, with the latter also supplying an assist for his compatriot, whilst at the back, Leighton Baines’ two assists in the last three suggest he could yet persuade many Fantasy owners to hold for now as the Toffees attempt to rediscover last year’s form and climb up the table.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I don't think it's too much to ask for a Foster CS, saving a Baines penalty and then punting the ball up field for Berhino to nick in and score...plus 3 bps

The question on the minds of many. Should I WC for GW 23 or wait 1 more week. Allow me to offer the argument for either options from my point of view.

    Argument for GW 23 WC:

    - Most of us will be loading up on Chelsea,Arsenal,Utd,Sunderland,Soton players for the WC and all these teams except for Chelsea have great fixtures for GW 23. You'd take advantage of these fixtures and get a head start on those choosing to wait and you avoid slipping in rank because those who already WCed probably have many players from these teams.

    - You catch price rises and avoid drops over a 2 week break even if high activity isn't expected in the market.

    - You have most of the transfer market covered with the WC in case some interesting signings take place. I don't see any meaningful signings for the top teams though. Chelsea and City will not buy anyone. Arsenal and Utd could get defenders but they are shopping for premium defenders who will probably be expensive and unappealing for FPL.

    Argument for GW 24 WC:

    - You load up on Chelsea players after the City game when their fixtures turn to the better.

    - You play the WC after the transfer market is closed and all players are added to FPL.

    - All players are back from Asia cup and AFCON and ready to play again.

    - If you don't have Aguero already, you get him after the Chelsea game and he'd have taken enough time to be at 100%

I tried to be unbiased but I am leaning towards the GW 23 options. I'd love to hear some other ideas/angles I haven't thought of. Please offer your thoughts.

I had always planned to WC GW 24 but I think it's the fixtures this week which are swaying me. All my defenders have terrible fixtures this week.

Same for me except for Janmaat. I want Jones,Clyne,Panti, Terry in. I see at least 3 CS in there plus maybe a goal and some BAPs.

I only want Aguero and defenders in my wc. Team looks good for next gw and i'd rather use 2ft to do a couple of punts before aguero's fitness and fixtures improve.

Great points for both arguments, thanks for sharing as these types of posts are somewhat rare.
I think your outlook on the situation is spot on.
I agree that the transfer window will not be impacted much after the 31st
GW23 seems more appealing, and definitely has more advantages.

Well history has shown that the last day of transfers is usually packed with many deals and surprises but as I argued above, I don't expect much from the big teams when it comes to attacking players. And for defenders, there isn't much that can happen that could sway me away from Panti, a chelsea defender, a Soton defender and some budget options like Wisdom/Hutton/PVA.

Any reason other than Yaya?whose appeal is much less with Kun back now. Bony is dead fpl-wise now. Mane could be worth a shout but will be even more rotation-prone with Elia in the team. I am not sold on Bolasie either. What am I missing?

I noticed you were eyeing up Kos. So am I but I have a tough call to make

Kos and PvA v Fonte and Bellerin

          I have Panti

I prefer Fonte & Bellerin I think. Especially as you have Panti. Kos might end up just being in my team for a week as wildcarding the GW after. If it looks like Bellerin is first choice I'll probably get him and use the cash.
