This evening, we look back on the nail-biting final and announce the latest winner of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup X, as sponsored by Paddy Power. We also see who claims the third place play-off prize.

With a Gameweek 24 score of 61, CMIFLFC won a close final against Momalpashands and joins donnellyc, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05, Gribude and myself in our winners hall of fame.

Both our finalists had already played their wildcards but 2,473rd ranked CMIFLFC prevailed thanks to a defence that included Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne and Swansea right-back Kyle Naughton.

Momalpashands, who has an overall rank of 428, was just eight points away but his transfer of Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho in for the injured Arsenal midfielder Alexis Sanchez, as well as a defence that included Manchester United Phil Jones, fell short at the final hurdle.

Congratulatons to CMIFLFC, who wins £100 worth of free bets with Paddy Power as well as a £100 Amazon voucher. As runner-up, Momalpashands wins £50 worth of Paddy Power free bets and a £50 Amazon voucher.

Meanwhile, our third placed play-off was even closer with Bobbyg scoring 61, whilst 241,362nd ranked Harts Hotspurs close behind with 58. Both played their wildcards but despite Harts Hotspurs captaining Harry Kane and fielding Branislav Ivanovic, bobbyg’s more consistent scoring across all positions was enough to give him the edge. Bobbyg also had Swansea’s Naughton – who earned an assist – to thank as he claims the third place play-off price of £50 worth of free bets and a £25 Amazon voucher.

In addition bobbyg, who has an overall rank of 542, and CMIFLC win a further £25 worth of free bets for getting the highest score of the round.

Will Vlaar oust Okore or Clark from the Villa backline when he returns?

      Yes, he will

Yes. When he returns is another matter though. He was permanently injured before he joined Villa.... And so it continues.

Cheers. Yeah, see I expect him to come back in to it but I want to know if I've done the right thing bringing in Clark over Okore.

That's a toughie. I was going to offer an opinion on which guy I think would make way, but it's not as easy as I suspected.

Yeah I know, thanks though. Sure I felt fairly confident when I brought Clark in but I'm really questioning it now. Maybe 'cos of Okore's goal, ha.

As a Villa fan, it will almost certainly be Clarke that makes way. Our first choice central pairing is ideally Okore and Vlaar, but recent injuries have seen us resort to using Clarke and Baker too.

Also, there's some debate as whether Baker should be third choice center back rather than Clarke (they're both awful imo).

      Hope this helps.

Which one of these forwards is going to outscore the rest of them for the next 3 GW?

    A) Defoe
    B) Pelle
    C) Gayle
    D) Diouf
    E) N'Doye
    F) Lukaku
    G) Cisse

Just looking for Austin replacement till the DGW when I'm planning to bring him back

I favour Defoe just because he is able to score a hat-trick in PL more then everyone from the list I wrote. My gut tells me that Gayle will take damage to Newcastle especially under Pardew as manager but there is so much competition at Palace upfront... aarrghh :@

Is van Aanholt essential ? o.O Looking at the top 10k ownership on fpldiscovery, it seems like last week 26.8% started him and 23.3% benched him. So his total ownership is over 50%, and his owners will surely play him in the next two fixtures - QPR and WBA at home.

Maybe with all the Sanchez love, we're forgetting PvA who might make a bigger impact on our ranks ?

    First post here

Only signed up last night for the remainder or the season to get a good run going.

I'm thinking of putting a hull defender in!! I mean none of the top 8 have good fixtures over the next 4! (In hindsight) Robertson seems to be back in the fold and with attacking potential from the LWB spot, I feel he is a good differential, I think they need to play a more defensive game to assure points, and were unlucky not to get a CS from city.

    There next fixtures are:

Villa @ home (scored 1 in last 5)
QPR @ home (haven't won away)
Stoke @ away (should play him for the lack of games that GW)
    Sund @ home
Leicester @ away (haven't scored many past 5/6 weeks)

    Thoughts?

It's funny, has a rather unique plot and is a little heartwarming as well. (One of my favorite parts is when he helps the old ladies with their flat tire. He says something like, "don't worry ladies, I had the tire and the jack." Like he just happened to be carrying a tire and a jack around? Brilliant!)

      Villa can score another goal.
QPR can get their first away win.
      Bad fixture.
Sunderland get a vital 3 points.
      Leicester finally get a win.

    .....................Panti
    ........Wisdom - Terry - Clichy
    Oscar - Cazorla - Hazard - Walcott
    .........Giroud - Aguero - Pelle

Krul; Boyd - Wollscheid - Alderweireld

    1 FT, 0.1m itb

looking at Pelle > Defoe instead of Kane specifically because I wanted to keep Oscar through the blank and with 2 FT swap him for Eriksen and Defoe for Kane for the double since I can just play Boyd, Toby and Wollsch alongside Wisdom and Clichy that week

Alderweireld and Wisdom play each other, City at Anfield, Stoke home to Hull, play a 433

    Serious question, who to bench....

    Wisdom (Swansea Home)
    PVA (QPR Home)
    Clyne (West Ham Home)
    Bellerin (Lei Home)
    Silva (Stoke Away)
    Gayle(New Home)

lready have Foster on my bench as De Gea is first choice and already have Aguero playing. Weirdly, i'm currently benching Silva, right choice?

Wisdom for me. Didn't play at the weekend and with the changes Pulis has been making he might not start but could make a sub appearance.

It's rarely right to start 4 at the back in my opinion, especially when you're benching someone of Silva's quality.

Am I the only one that thinks Giroud will be on the bench tomorrow. I know we get the line ups before the deadline but most getting ready to transfer him in if they haven't got him. Sanchez has trained and is fit. He hates missing games and can't see Wenger easing him in. Ozil is nailed on left side I think and would be surprised if Walcott doesn't start on right which leaves Sanchez down the middle.

I could be wrong as second guessing Wenger is difficult but fancied having my say on it!

Too tough to call right now really. Great that we get the line-ups.

I can see Cazorla getting a rest, Ozil in the middle, Sanchez left, Walcott right and Giroud up front myself.

I.e. Sanchez up top through the middle is only really an in-case of injuries fall-back. AW still prefers a back-to-goal no.9 in a front 3

      Hard to know with Arsenal.

Sanchez also has a lot more competition for FPL points now as well. As least Santi has pens, until he gets 'rested'.

With LvG taking flak for lack of creativity is Herrera starting looking likely midweek?

Could be a good little punt vs. Burnley

Blind may take Shaw's place with Herrera stepping into midfield.

Have I got the correct set up for my team tomorrow peeps? I won't have a lot of time to check team news so if Sanchez doesn't start would you still start him in the below team? Many thanks for any help offered.

    Mane Hazard Sanchez Di Maria
    Giroud Aguero Kane

    Foster, Kompany, Wisdom, Boyd

I was in similar quandary re: Sanchez. I decided not to risk it because I too mightn't be able to check it. I've strong suspicion Giroud will get a piece of the action whatever happens, and you have that angle covered.

If you've already made FT, I would keep him and play him but not make him captain. I think that's maybe too much of a risk if he is off form.

Yeah tempted to just captain Giroud, but Sanchez strikes me as the type of player who can jump straight back in after injury and he is so explosive.

True and he could probably jump off the bench and do it too. Ahhh! Plenty are going for Sanchez. Maybe go with your gut or you will be kicking yourself tomorrow night.

Who to play / Who to bench?

    Hart - STK (A)

    Koscielny - LEI (H)
    Clichy - STK (A)
    Ivanovic - EVE (H)
    Clyne - WHU (H)
    van Aanholt- QPR (H)

    Eriksen - LIV (A)
    Cazorla - LEI (H)

    Agüero - STK (A)
    Kane - LIV (A)
    Giroud (C) - LEI (H)

    Bench:
    Mahrez - ARS (A)
    Downing - SOU (A)
    Boyd - MUN (A)
    Begovic - MCI (H)

Am I crazy to risk a 5 man defense? There's just so much attack there. van Aanholt yet to prove himself.

You have me on the Hazard one. Unfortunately I just really wanted to get rid of Remy this week, though Eriksen or Cazorla to Hazard was tempting, and I had enough in the bank... but Hazard burned me before, what can I say.

Well that is a good point but I could also use the next two game weeks to rearrange funds to afford a third "big hitter" - maybe even Hazard. Maybe next week I'll switch out terminal under achiever aguero and the week could switch maybe Downing and afford Hazard. That means I'd have Hazard in time for visitors Burnley. Ahhhh!

      They're not rubbish, but:

Puncheon was a knee jerk move.
ADM out of form in a not too impressive Utd side
Oscar is a poor mans Fabs and Haz.

In fact, with ADM he scored most of his points in 3 games, two of which were against newly promoted sides very early in the season. Those games probably gave us a warped view of his true worth in FPL terms.

Always a chance... I don't think they will though. Both play almost as second strikers, and playing 2 would be unbalanced, unless you make Sanchez play a deeper more creative role.

Until Sanchez is, if he ever is, turned into a striker, I'm not sure both will be starting.
