Fantasy Football Scout is pleased to announce two new Fantasy Premier League cup competitions which are set to take place over the season run-in. First of all, we roll out the eleventh instalment of our open-to-all cup competition, sponsored by Paddy Power. This is your chance to join our previous winners – donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleepingmaster, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 and our reigning champion CMIFLFC in our hall of fame.

We’ve also opened entry for the fifth instalment of the Fantasy Football Scout Members Cup, as Trigg looks to defend his title. Fuzzy Dunlop, Kippax Kikkers and Acquafresca were our other previous winners of this tournament.

If you’re familiar with our competitions you can get your entries in right now via the links below. If you’re new to all this, read on for an FAQ on the competitions.

Enter the Paddy Power XI Cup via the entry form here.

Members can also enter the Members Cup V via this entry form.

How do the cup competitions work?

Our cup competitions are very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the manager highest in the overall standings will progress.

When do they start?

The qualifying rounds for both cups will take place in Gameweek 28, with the first rounds running on Gameweek 29.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to Wednesday March 11, when we’ll stop entry and will be drawing the first round ties from the qualifiers.

There will be 512 qualifiers for the members cup and 1024 for the Paddy Power Cup XI – depending on the number of entries. All our previous winners gain a bye into the first round draw where they will join the top scorers from Gameweek 28.

FPL standing will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions. The same rules apply in the Members Cup

How do I enter?

Enter the Paddy Power XI Cup via the entry form here.

Members can also enter the Members Cup V via this entry form.

In both cases you will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry and you’ll be asked to confirm your FPL team id at the point of entry – please be sure to click the link to verify that your team is correct before confirming.

To check that you’re entered correctly, please scan the list of current entries.

The Paddy Power Cup XI entry list can be found here.

The Members Cup entry list can be found here.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying rounds of both cups will be published on or around March 11 and then weekly from that point on.

What is the Gameweek Schedule?

These Cup competitions will be played out according to the following Gameweek schedule:

The fixture list for each round of both cups will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

Are there prizes?

Prizes will be announced in a follow up article.

Do I have to enter if I’m previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed, we will need to record you entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a FFScout username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament. Ideally, you will already have a username with us but this is not essential to enter (although it is for the Members Cup) – you must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles. You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament, should you do so without permission, or should you enter multiple teams or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from a tournament.

    De Gea
    Trippier Lescott Williams Sakho Cissokho
    Sanchez Ibe Boyd
    Aguero Giroud

2.0 in bank - Eriksen, Kane , Hazard seems too much to just have sitting on the bench. Idea for 2nd tfr?

No idea what to do here. 😕

    Foster - Myhill
    Terry - Alderweireld - Bellerin - Wisdom - PVA
    Sanchez - Hazard - Walcott - Mane - Ameobi
    Aguero - Sturridge - Kane

2 FTs and 0.5m in the bank.

    Thoughts?

What about the other FT? Sve it or ditch Wisdom?

And please take a look at the bottom of last page. 🙂

Wisdom is your priority Pop, you have a few ifs/butts in there too-you may need to use that other free come pressers.
          Replied btw, long story.

Walcott out, that's really it for me. I'd say your frontline takes priority over your backline PoP.
Terry, Toby, Bellerin are good bets to start and if you focus your FT's at the back, you may be left playing 532 if both Wally and Ameobi are benched.

One FT to Wally for sure though

In your opinions which is better for maximizing points

    Guaranteed 11 for GW27, 2 DGWers for GW28 (Kane & Austin)

    or

    Guaranteed 10!for GW27, 3 DGWers for GW28 (Kane, Eriksen & Austin)

    Any ideas would be welcomed

    1. Walsh
      • 12 Years
      10 years, 11 months ago

Assuming the last 11 player is a 4.5ish defender for GW27, I would choose the second option.

    2. Woy of the Wovers
      • 15 Years
      10 years, 11 months ago

First, get Eriksen ahead of Austin. Eriksen is a viable long term player whereas Austin is more of a punt. But I'm on option B.

    3. Zasa
      • 11 Years
      10 years, 11 months ago

Like Woy said, Erik has the higher ceiling and is also the better long term play.
So from that, has to be B for me

    4. I hate Craig Gardner

      So basically:

      A) Whoever else you'd bring in this week's GW27 and GW28 fixture
      vs
      B) Eriksen's 2 games in GW28
      or
      C) Whoever else you'd bring in this week's GW27 + Eriksens 2 games in GW28 (-4pt hit)

      I favour C) personally.

I think Falcao will get one last shot. Rooney is a much better partner for him. When he played alongside RvP he was forced to drop deep often, which is not his game at all. Paired with Rooney he'll be playing as a proper #9 so he'll have no excuses.

More points potential this week in A, but B is surely a very solid long term transfer. Maybe depends on how many games you will start Dawson - if you have three heavy defenders or rotate them more - as your guide to which move to make?

He gave the ref far too much excuse to send him off, was always gonna get a red there in Europe imo.

Fair enough, I guess we just disagree on that one.

Yeah if there were intent that'd be one thing but I didn't see any. Almost as bad as the Nani sending off in Fergie's final season.

                This is rubbish.

                Intent to what? To injure?

And the Nani decision was in a different league!

That's what I meant; two wrongs don't make a right. Nani decision was also in CL vs Madrid but it's totally irrelevant. Need to look at the decision in the confined circumstances that were this particular game.

See my reply to Beavis below. I didn't realize it was a second yellow. 😯

What was controversial/laughable about the decision? It was a stupid tackle (like you said) but the decision was straightforward, ref didn't really have too much of a choice.

Of course he had a choice. Clichy wasn't even close to catching him. As if there's any consistency in Europe what with kung fu kicks going unpunished. It's a joke.

I actually rate you as a poster but I feel you find something controversial in everything. I guess it's just differing opinions but for me that's a simple red card decision, two wrongs don't make a right so it makes no difference if they have not given cards for more violent stuff in the past. In the confined circumstances of this particular game, it was a second booking.

Well then that settles it I thought it was a straight red. Cooking while watching the match. 😆

    Forster, Hamer
    Terry, Clyne, Dawson, Hutton, PVA
    Sanchez, Hazard, ADM, Cazorla, Boyd
    Aguero, Giroud, Kane

    2FT, 0.7 in bank

    A) PVA -> Reveillere
    Or
    B) ADM -> Silva

PvA out but I wouldn't want Reveillere. I'd get Lescott.

I don't see a reason why not. They have some terrific fixtures in the near future and well worth doubling up on for me.
