Goals are the lifeblood of our Fantasy lineup and the quest for goalscorers is, of course, a major factor in our selections on a weekly basis.

While several players have already shown their prowess in this area with two goals to their name, the statistical data available to our Members, and in particular the ICT Index, enables us to spot and monitor those who are yet to make their mark but are, nonetheless, finding themselves in goalscoring positions and posing a key threat to the opposition.

In this latest Members article, we take a look at the top players amongst midfielders and forwards in terms of the current “Threat” score within our ICT Index, identifying those players who have so far delivered on their promise, and those which seem likely to find the net in the near future.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Pulling my hair out trying to decide on my defence...

Enrique, Senderos & 1 from Kompany, De Leat & Simpson... think all three will prob concede but who has the best chance of picking up other random points?

The odds of getting three in a row are slim. However, he already has two, so that has no bearing at all on the third. It's still the odds on getting one clean sheet.

No Kenny said that he needs to protect him that's why. He also stated that he made a mistake starting him the first game of the season. That's why he benched him in GW2.

But having in mind that Bol are good for headed plays, Carroll won't be enough to brake them so they will need Suarez surely IMO.

But who knows what is in Kenny's mind

I want a piece of him and I watched him against QPR he was most attacking. One lad who was an Everton fan posted him even before the games began for Eve, so I am completely aware for him as a potential, but still he is a potential. He could be easily benched (for Everton not for our team) and 5m is quite a lot nowadays. I'd rather have 4.5m bench folder assured of starts.

I need prove that he will start and I would reconsider him. But most of the lads usually forgot that one of the attacking players need to be benched every week.

There was even an article about Eve set up and analysis in which article he was mentioned, I've read it than and too bad I can't provide u the link. Somebody just posted around here.

Previous years I was very fond of defenders like Kompany. Imagine City will have 15 - 18 CS's this year and I said to my self where I can find attacker worth 6m who can give me 15 goals.

But those days goal and a CS's were equal 4pts each. With the new BP which I think its rubbish that is not the case anymore.

so long term you think city will get more cs than liverpool? i was considering making the move and then either saving the extra 1 mil to potentially upgrade aguero to rooney later if needed or to upgrade one of fergeson, simpson and de laet. however i would have to take a 4 point hit to go kompany > enrique

I can see only one CS for Liv in the next 5 honestly. And they will concede against Bol surely.

I could be wrong but I am not convinced on Liv defense wise.

          BOL stk tot WLV eve

          I see a lot of CS's there.

First is only 2 games so the watch list needs time IMO, After 4-5 GW's it will be more accurate.

Stick or twist, concerned by Torres form, Sessegnons long game yesterday and Sunderland's lack of goals, and Moses injury status

Ideally I would like to keep two transfers for the international break as there will certainly be injuries, and also transfer window will be shut too

Thinking of Brunt or Jarvis in for Sess/Moses
Or Drogba/ somebody else in for Torres

    Hilario/(Vorm)
    Bosingwa/Baines/Warnock/STaylor/(DeLait)
    Silva/Sinclair/Sessegnon/(Moses/Vukic)
    Rooney(c)/Bent(vc)/Torres

      Wildcard?

I got rid of all those players mate. They all seem like punts promoted here. None of them is proven. Maybe one or 2 punts are ok but no point in team built around punts.

      - Sess played 120 min, Bruce's comments that they have strikers and Sun can't score. It seems like that. In the cup that was pretty much the first team.
      - Moses injury doubt and Wig aren't scoring too, only penalties till now. Fixtures after are bad and QPR could easily win them.
      - Sinclair - Swa creating but not finishing. Still need to score a goal. Against Sun and Ars seem like not good bets. Both of the sides could keep the ball. I think they could score against Bla, Stk type of sides with low % possession of the ball.
      - Vukic - ha

Unbalanced team too. Suit your self but I would be tempted to make change, or 2 or 5 😉

despite chelseas favourable fixture i cant help but think torres is gna do nothing again, it stung me putting him as captain last week not even staying on the pitch for 60mins, i wasnt even gna buy him let alone give him the arm band last week until i came on this site, not blaming anyone but i didnt think the captain pole could have so many people making the wrong choice.

if you had torres would you ship him out this week if so for who? i already have aguero and suarez

Feel the same way , have never liked him , but seeing him so high in the captains list i stupidly went along with the herd.
Waas so disgusted i booted him out for Suarez before the chelsea game was even finished

To be fair Torres was a good shout. And probably still is. There's no doubt he's a class striker but in FF terms i've lost faith too. I still think he's a good player but until I see him back to his best and playing solidly for 10 games running, without injury, I won't be considering for my team again.

Nah Michael Owen was a poacher who often ran off the last defender, once his pace went his career went downhill. Torres has a lot more to his game, he just needs to adapt a bit as he's probably lost a yard of pace.

This chelsea team won't get the most out of torres. For Spain, athletico, chelsea he hasn't got anywhere near the returns rafa got out of him. Say what you will about benitez but was very clever tacticaly and had the side set up perfectly for torres.

Fwiw swansea had lots of trouble scoring goals in the championship until borini joined and dobbie got starts behind them.
Graham is no borini & seems lost as a lone forward, and routledge can't create chances out of nothing like dobbie. I can see swansea seriously struggling for goals this season. Loads of possession, zero cutting edge.

Yes I think Sinclair needs to go unfortunately. I had high hopes for him this season.
Yes I agree they will struggle to score goals. There seems to be no creativity in midfield and Graham reminds me of Carroll for Liverpool, just sort of lumbering around completely at odds with the rest of the team.

Well you're going to play Enrique, bosingwa & kompany most weeks so spending 10 on the other 2 slots probably isn't the best use of funds.
I've got Enrique, bos & lescott. Last 2 slots are Simpson & n.taylor. Usually sitting in the bench but they rotate well so one is always available with a good fixture when needed. Extra 2.0 to spend in attack.

I had planned to but don't think i'll bother now. He seems to be coming deep far too often now trying to do everything himself, probably a reflection of Arsenal's currently weakened midfield. He'll probably do well against Swansea he's not a player that fits me long term, particularly until Arsenal get thir act together.

Yeah he did, but having watched 3 Arsenal matches this season it seems like he's doing it even more so now. I dunno, £12m for a player in a club going through a mini-crisis doesn't appeal much to me.

I had planned to have him by gw4 too but now I think i'll go for Rooney. At the moment United look like they could steamroll most opposition.

Even though Rooney's been playing well Im still not convinced he'll keep scoring when Hernandez comes back. He will have Pens and free-kicks but Hernandez will be the centre forwrard with Rooney playing deep. And those Arsenal fixtures are just too good to ignore.

Because I think that when Hernandez comes back he will assume most of the goalscoring responsibility for United and Rooney will play deeper.
Also Arsenals fixtures are just too good to ignore. RVP is simply fantasy gold when he is on form, which he will get back son I think.

yeah I agree RVP fantasy gold, but he has not hit his straps yet. I can see the logic in your MANU analysis and agree with it, however Rooney won't be going anywhere until this theory becomes a reality.

I'm getting RVP regardless of whether he drops in price or not but if he does drop, that would just be GOLD. It would give me the 0.1 difference needed to cover Silva's increase.

Yeah he plays a false 9 role so its his job to drop deep and create for the midfielders. Seems to me the only difference atm is the midfield aren't creating much for him in return.

I was thinking this too...so if Wenger makes a couple of signings in midfield and Wilshere comes back in, they could be a totally different prospect.

Yeah I think so. Personally not shelling out 12.0 till rvp/arsenal show some form though. Walcott may be a better punt to take advantage of their good fixtures from next week.

Wilshere's apparently another 3 weeks away, but I guess that could just mean Arsenal not releasing him for international duty and having him fit and well for GW4.

All good strikers drop deep, float wide etc because they want as much of the ball as possible and it makes them harder to mark.

Unless you're build like Drogba or you've got ridiculous acceleration, you need to create space rather than just hanging off the last man. Aguero, Suarez, Tevez, Rooney, RVP, they all drop deep and float wide.

I sort of disagree. RVP's the fox-in-the-box type, this sort of player isn't the kind who is optimal (keyword) dropping deep. If you have pace like Torres or work rate like Tevez and Rooney you can do more for your team from distance, opening up defences, but RVP's better off having someone else do that while he positions himself well for to receive the final ball and provide the expert finishing.

Not saying he shouldn't do it, because he's trying to be a team player, but I'm saying it's a bad sign that he has to do it because it means the supply isn't coming. i.e. his awesome goalrate-when-not-injured will drop unless something is done about the Arsenal supply chain.

Questions to ask yourself before taking a point hit:
      (1) If you keep the potential transferee, can you make a good 11 with the other players you have?
      (2) Is there a prospective transfer in who you realistically think will outscore the transfer out (or the player you'd start ahead of him) by AT LEAST 4 points?
      (3) If the answer to (2) is "No", will your transfer in be a good long term option. And if so, is there any chance he'll go up in price before next week making him unaffordable for you?
      (4) Do ya feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

Points 1 and 2 are very important and often ignored, especially "(or the player you’d start ahead of him)".

The worst example is taking a hit on a player just to sit on the bench and free funds for the 2nd transfer.

With a groin injury he's probably either going to play 90 mins or not at all. It's either fixed or not fixed, it's not like a knock on the head or a dead leg.

I'm putting him in my 11. if he doesn't play then some1 else will come in.

Also people saying Sessegnon... really? I have him in my team and he's one of the players I'm looking to potentially get out on the next game week. He's been missing for 2 games.

Good points, it would be safer to play Brown this weekend making me have 4 defenders, would rather not have to but I guess its the safer option, besides it could be worse, Sunderland "might" actually get a clean sheet this GW.

Nani has more explosive potential but Young has a more significant set piece role and is more secure in the team. I would go Young, but prefer Rooney as Utd cover, ideally.

I think even with Hernandez guaranteed starts and in the form he was in last season, Rooney with pens, set pieces + assists is still the better option. Hernandez could emerge as a very good, cheap alternative, but I wouldn't go jumping on him yet.

I don't rate Young and think he's grossly overrated.

I am, mainly because Suarez's pitch time will likely be limited.

That and Utd look ruthless at the moment, Arsenal are ripe for the picking, and Rooney should be well fired up for it.

        Im going Rooney,
long stressful trip to italy for Arsenal
        Half team still injured
        United in good form
Rooney looking better than has for a year
Suarez could miss time if liverpool play 5 in middle

Only negative with Rooney is that uniteds goals can come from anyone , and if he in one of his deep playing moods
he may not score much even if united win 3 0

If Suarez plays he almost guaranteed bonus points if liv win and likely be involved in all attacks
............. MMM Suarez starting sound good lol

I'm thinking about captaining Malouda personally. Great fixture, scored last week, loves to demolish promoted teams at home (2 goals against both West Brom and Blackpool last year), he'll be playing either to stay at Chelsea or to out himself in the shop window.... slight worry about his starting role, but after scoring last week I reckon he starts.
