With 14 goals and three assists in the opening 15 Gameweeks, Sergio Aguero looked a near-essential component of our three-man frontlines until injury struck against Everton in early December. After missing five league fixtures, the City talisman’s return was eagerly anticipated by Fantasy managers but it’s fair to day that so far, Aguero’s recent displays haven’t quite been on a par with his early season endeavours.

Three goals and four assists in eight Gameweeks equate to a reasonable average of 4.875 points since recovering from a knee injury but this fares poorly against his returns from Gameweek 1-15, where he delivered seven points per appearance before he was sidelined through injury. With this in mind, we delve into the data to compare Aguero’s recent stats against his earlier displays and also analyse his efforts against other forwards from Gameweek 21 onwards.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Ivanovic is an attacking player 😉 The only one else youd prob want is Costa and he seems a nightmare to try and fit in esp with Giroud having a DGW too looks just too much hassle

Do you think in telegraph UCL he will because you get points for a 'key contribution' to a goal. Surely winning a free kick which is then converted is a key contribution?

One of the most overrated keepers of all time imo. Always made a lot of mistakes. He had 3-4 good/great years max. He is no Buffon or Kahn or Schmeichel or Cech or even Cesar. Ancelotti should have had the balls to let him go in the summer.

    Bellerin vs Naughton.

Naughton is nailed on (?), has reasonable fixtures, and has an assist recently

Bellerin is a rotation risk, but does get forward well, has alight fixtures but are Ars more likely to keep a CS than Swansea?

Do you think in telegraph UCL Tello will get points for a 'key contribution' to a goal. Surely winning a free kick which is then converted is a key contribution?

In his first four games after returning to action, Aguero had two assists - disappointing for sure. But this downturn was brief. In the four following matches, from 11 Feb to 4 Mar, he's scored three goals and two assists, though playing less than 90 minutes in three of them. I'd say Aguero has fully recovered from the long layoff and its after0effects and is now producing at something like the same rate we were used to. I'm keeping him in my side - and Harry Kane too.

I was skeptical too but I ran the stats and his goal threat has been down last 4 as well. Not enough to sell for now obviously but worth monitoring going into wk34 as a shift to Sturridge / Costa for dgw could be on the cards. A lot can happen between now and then of course.

Oscar is too inconsistent and not nailed on completely.

      Some maths:

You = trying to justify spending less on Oscar instead of Hazard

Point/minutes is useless imo, Oscar just plays less than Hazard doesn't mean he gets more points for your fantasy team on a weekly basis.

I have both though, but would never have Oscar over Hazard.

No I'm not saying have Oscar over Hazard, if you can afford Hazard, just think he is a good differential for less.

About my thinking when I brought him in on my Jan WC... Didn´t turn out too well.

    Hi guys

    Pick 3 from these 4 for GW29:

Terry (Sou H) -Bertrand (Che A) -Bellerin (WHU H) -Dawson (Sto H)

First 3 ... Both Saints and WBA probably won't keep CS but Bertrand has attacking potential and playing against his previous club 😉
