The Community Round Up

When one window closes, another opens as our community bids farewell to an unpredictable Premier League season and prepares for a summer of Euro 2016 Fantasy Football action. Our community writers examine some of the hidden gems playing in the Euros as well as the best prospects among those sides promoted to the Premier League. Our hot topics take a look back at 2015/16’s twists and turns, underrated goals, a troublesome curse in North London and also offer further advice for those playing Euro Fantasy games. Meanwhile, our Members tables examine the 2015/16 form players over the run in and we finish up by looking at those who emerged victorious across our many community competitions.

The Community Articles

Euro 2016 was a key issue for our community writers, who have started providing a mine of information about the key countries taking part.

Austria could hold the key to Fantasy Football success in the tournament, according to Lyonnais latest article. Meanwhile, Edgar Davids has taken a close look at Portugal’s propsects.

For Sif, domestic issues, specifically the fortunes of Burnley in the Premier League next season, come under the spotlight as he weighs up the merits of six of the promoted sides’ key players.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

Parm has been among the busiest community members this week in scouting the best prospects of success at Euro 2016. This included a look at groups A, B, C and D.

We also examined some of the tournament’s best budget buys and premium purchases, while Roscola dropped by with some clarity around the transfer and substitutions rules in the Euro 2016 McDonalds Fantasy game.

There was further Euro 2016 discussion from Giggs Boson, who urges Fantasy managers to ensure they invest well in defence.

Looking further ahead across the summer, the community took a moment to scout the best players to consider among the promoted sides and also assessed their achievements as the Premier League campaign drew to a close in our final Rough with the Smooth of the season.

Finally, Irish Madrista asked for clips of the community’s favourite goals that don’t usually make best goals lists. A cavalcade of underrated worldies, rockets and cheeky lobs were duly delivered.

The Members Tables

Balders’ look at the best goal scoring players over 2016 will prove invaluable reading for those who believe that end-of-season form can be carried over to the next campaign.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Tournaments

There was a nail biting conclusion to the FFScout moderators and contributors league where Chris Smalling’s own goal ensured Andy took first place by just four points over second placed Evs.

In Red Lightning’s Top 10k Any Season league Ralf Buckenmaier beat rival James Ollerenshaw to first place by three points. In this tough competition both Ralf and James finished in the top 100 overall rankings, while 16 of those taking part finished within the top 1,000.

Sam Isaacs was crowned champion of Red Lightning’s January to May league. Sam’s team was taken over in January by his uncle Ruth NZ, who managed to improve the team’s overall rank from just outside the top three million to within the top 500,000 after an impressive 21 green arrows.

Jaffalicious dropped by to reveal the award winners in his inaugural FFS UEFA Champions League competition, which was won by Lucy.

In the Long and Winding Road main league Lateriser12 overtook Saniul to claim top spot with an impressive final Gameweek score of 82.

Elsewhere Back on the horse took first place in the Puffinboy Memorial Cup, which is dedicated to one of FFScout’s first ever posters. Meanwhile, the FFS Old Farts Club league was won by Niclas Andersson.

In the final Community Scout Picks challenge of the season AZ defeated the Scouts 66 to 52. However, this was not enough to overhaul Red Devil’s Gameweek 17 lead of 25 points over the Scouts. Red Devil takes the Community Champion crown for 2015/16 as well as a £100 Amazon voucher and a place in next season’s FFScout Moderators and Contributors league.

The Going Out With a Bang league, set up by Kings of Lyon to discover how the end of season chips fared over the run in, was won by Goonerbyron. His use of the triple captaincy in Gameweek 34, wildcard in Gameweek 36 and Bench Boost chip in Gameweek 37 proved decisive. He also claims free FFScout membership for next season as part of his prize, courtesy of Kings of Lyon.

There was further good news for Goonerbyron, who won AZ’s £5 Buy-in-Cash league.

The five highest scoring managers of D1sable’s paid for league in Sky, Dexter Hayes, Will Thomas, Stuart Pank, Paul McAnulty and Kevin Anderson, netted £5,000 between them in prize winnings.

Other community members with freshly bulging wallets include Beavis, who bagged the £600 first prize in Epic Fail’s high rollers league. Chelsea Harbour and Jarvish also finished in the cash prize placings.

Our inaugural FFScout league in the ESPN Fantasy Football game was won by Jbish01, while community regular Fitzy came second.

Finally, a reminder that over the summer The Fantasy Freak will once again be organising a series of quizzes to help us pass the time ahead of the start of the new season.

I feel as though i need to have a swedish player somewhere in my team, unfortunately we would be better if we had 9 other Zlatans on the pitch

You can stick of twist your captain upto 5 times. You need to have a more balanced bench too to take advantage of the substitutions

Thanks Mikess, i have to say manual subs will be great but am i understanding it right that we have unlimited transfers in the group stages as teams are being knocked out? If so then it sounds better to focus on a strong 11 and then Wildcard for a full team after the stages start
