The fall out from last weekend’s FA Cup matches dominated discussions as our hot topic posters began planning in earnest for blank fixtures and impending double Gameweeks. Watford’s malaise also comes under scrutiny, while our community scribes get to grips with team form and fans’ views ahead of this weekend’s matches. Aerial heroes and on-pitch villains are the focus of our latest Members tables and we also find out who the best crystal ball gazers are in our community tournaments round up.
The Community Articles
With a break from the Premier League over the previous weekend, Kavali took the opportunity to look in more detail at the Fantasy Premier League careers of the 34 veterans he is tracking this season. While their pedigree is not in question, his analysis shows that experience has counted for little in this most unpredictable of campaigns, in which Leicester are the surprising frontrunners to claim the Premier League trophy.
As The Sarjeant’s latest colour coded form guide shows, Leicester’s dominance of this year’s Fantasy season is no fluke as they look to cement their lead further when Norwich visit in Gameweek 27. There was more advice for this weekend’s best assets from the fans themselves, thanks to Bolivian Seaman‘s research.

The Hottest Topics
Amongst the most surprising FA Cup results last weekend was Crystal Palace’s victory over Tottenham. While this was bad news for Spurs fans, it was a cause for celebration amongst Fantasy managers as the North London side escape a blank Gameweek 30 and make planning far easier for that weekend, when FA Cup quarter finals take place.
As our discussion on Gameweek 30 planning shows, the ability to now field popular picks such as Harry Kane that week have given the community the chance to make a luxury move or two.
Renewed confidence in being able to field a strong team in Gameweek 30 has also started to shape our planning for Gameweek 27, when the Capital One Cup final means Manchester City, Everton, Liverpool and Newcastle all miss a fixture.
However, for those looking to load up on Spurs assets immediately, Mousa Dembele’s absence through injury over the next two weeks may curtail their points potential, according to my latest research.
Faster return on investment is predicted for Leicester’s assets in Gameweek 27, when the Foxes take on Premier League whipping boys Norwich. Ktk_interista weighed up the merits of captaining one of their two key players, Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy, for this plum tie.
With every blank comes a double Gameweek and based on UEFA scheduling, Gameweek 34 and 37 look the the likeliest times to schedule more matches. Balders dropped by to offer some great advice around wildcarding and getting the most out of FPL chips over this period. Licious Lizard also offered some key tips on double Gameweek planning and even Manchester City’s misfiring midfielders are attracting interest for their impending double fixture.
Although they haven’t quite reached the dizzy heights set by Leicester, Watford have impressed this season and look to have already secured their Premier League status despite a recent dip in form. Hornets’ fan Applebonkers took a look at why his side’s performance have been so poor in recent weeks and believes that the recent hectic fixture schedule, that has included cup games, may be a key factor.
The Members Tables
Two of our newest members, Eden Hazardous and Pochecinno, have already got to grips with the statistics on offer by constructing some useful tables. Eden Hazardous’ Bloopers table looks at this season’s biggest under performers, while Pochecinno has being looking at the teams with the biggest aerial threat.
Elsewhere, Doosra has been assessing some big-name stars that are falling foul of FPL’s Bonus Point System and Andrewlimkh’s focus is on the best and worst goalkeepers in recent weeks.
If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.
The Community Tournaments
With a lack of Premier League action last weekend, Jarvish’s popular FA Cup Yes/No competition took centre stage amongst our community competitions. The latest soothsayer-in-chief in this predictions contest proved to be Greenwindmill, followed by Costa.
If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Do you guys know why Alli only played 30 minutes against Watford and 45 minutes against Norwich? Were they both because he was dizzy or a tactical move?
