Arsenal have this afternoon confirmed they are closely monitoring the proposed industrial strike action due to take place on the London Underground this Boxing Day.

With the Gunners set to face Wolves at 3pm that day, the club have made supporters aware via their official website that, in the event of a strike, any decision as to whether the match goes ahead will be made with the public’s safety in mind. Both Arsenal and Wolves are already liaising with the relevant authorities ahead of any announcement.

Chelsea also have a home game that day, with Fulham due to travel to Stamford Bridge and although the club have yet to comment, reports over the weekend have suggested both these matches could conceivably be at risk if the strike goes ahead.

At the moment, this is just a heads-up. We must stress that nothing has been finalised either way but Fantasy managers should at least be aware over a possible postponement on the horizon.

With Man United and Liverpool hosting Wigan and Blackburn that Gameweek and with Spurs taking a trip to Norwich, there would be plenty other strong options available if the games are called off. Owners of Chelsea and Arsenal assets face a real quandary, though- with both clubs at home to Aston Villa and QPR respectively on New Year’s Eve, would getting rid for one gameweek be the sensible option?

Plenty to mull over, then, and, added to this is the possibility of a double gameweek for both London clubs if the matches are indeed cancelled, it’s fair to say we’ll be keeping a keen eye open for any update.

Captain choices RVP, Silva or Yak?
RVP against Villa who have only conceeded more than 2 goals once this season
Silva against a Stoke team looking more stable defensively lately
Yak against an awfully defensive Bolton at home

Cant choose between the three at the min, any help please?

    repost from last page

ok folks here is my dilema. (team is linked)

I have 1 FT which I plan to save this week giving 2 ready for the great looking GW18. I will need to replace the Yak that GW.

My first thought was Bale out (as my main rival has him) for a 5.3 or less mid and Hernandez in for Yak, but then there is DGW to consider (and it's Bale).

I have 0.7 in bank, so, unless I downgrade somewhere I have 6.4 to spend on a striker, and am struggling to see who to get. Plan to do Ba – Studge in GW19, so he is not in my thoughts. Any help would be appreciated.

no enough in the bank, have already checked that. It's just that it's Bale, and he has DGW, thankfully I have a GW to weigh it up before I decide. Bale is Bale, when he does well you want him, but if goes back to his 2 pointers.....

no point getting Shelvey in, he'll be out once Spearing is back. Maybe do Ward to a defender around the 5.7 mark (you could get Jags, Huth, ShawX, Smalling, BAE, Walker) the less you spend the more you have to upgrade Dyer. You could also consider Kompany - Enrique/Skrtel.

With a busy period coming up, I am in the position of using two free transfers to make rather uninspiring switches, the first would be Eagles OUT Drenthe IN, but the second would be Dyer OUT 4.7 to spend on another midfielder, I feel I should get my full 15 in working order for the rotation fest that will be Christmas.

Any suggestions for a 4.7m midfielder? I know I am not going to get world beaters, but still, would be nice to get someone who plays and at least has an outside chance of doing something, what about Bradley Johnsosn, I see he only got 17 mins or so at the weekend, was he injured or out of favour?

Yep, have same question about Johnson's nailed-on-ness, anyone?

I'm in the same situation, considering Moses or Tiote. The former has bad fixtures but at least he's a guaranteed starter and has been getting points recently, while the latter I thought was bad but actually does assist once in a while.

Apparently even Gower isn't necessarily nailed on according to our resident Swans fan beginning with 'K'. Reckons only Britton and Sinclair are nailed on.

I've been recommending Moses/Gomez today, both play 90 minutes, in a spirited Wigan side. As much as you can ask for from a bench player in my opinion.

Yep, there's at least two much bigger doubts ahead of him: Wilkinson and Woodgate. Shotton is probably going to stay out of position in midfield too. Even if Pennant gets that spot, he's likely to retain RB as he was dropped back there recently when there was an absence in the RB position.

    Vorm
    Enrique, Jones, Raylor
    Silva, Nani(vc), Walters, Bale
    RVP, Adebayor, Ba(c)

    Ruddy, Gabbidion, ShawX, Ferguson

I have ShawX out and Raylor, Gabbidon, Bale all doubtful. I have 1FT and 1.5 in the bank, any suggestions. I think l may have to take Bale out and a defender for a hit!

Thinking of trading Dyer and Brown for Dempsey and NTaylor (for no hit).

Apologies for the repost guys, original got lost earlier.

    Current team is:
    SuperVorm, (Hennessy)
Enrique, Jones, Baines, (Brown, De Laet)
    Nani, Silva, Bale, Walters (Fergie)
    RVP, Ade, Sturridge

Have two free transfers and am considering Ade + Baines for Rooney + Hibbert (or another 4.8 or less defender). What do people think, good / bad move??

Stick onto Ade. He has some amazing fixtures coming up including DGW. Consider Baines- Vermalean

cheers, my worry is not having Rooney for Wigan and Blackburn at home, my main rival in mini-league who I am about 10 points ahead of brought Rooney in for RVP last weekend.

Any other cheap defender suggestions (will have 4.8 mil to play with). Am considering Shotton but not sure how safe he is. There's also Caulker but planning to do De Laet for him next gameweek.

How about the following after thos gw:

    Richards/walters/ade out
    Caulker/gomez/rooney in

This would be done for -4.

This is the only way tomgetmrooney in for gw 18&19, worth it?

Those transfers look fantastic and only for 4 points. Do it or you'll regret it tomorrow, CARPE DIEM, CARPE DIEM!

The problem with Drenthe is that he doesn't track back and help his defence. Which means Moyes won't play him from the start when he wants to keep things tight at the back (which is most of the time) and he will often get a runout from the bench only when they need a goal (which is most of the time).

I'd be surprised if he gets the full 90 minutes even when 100% match fit.

Hope so, I've had him since the week he got injured, so I want some payback!

But Everton have kept just 2 clean sheets all season and if they want to tighten up at the back they have no room for players who don't help out at the back.
