Last but not least, the third article in our series focusing on attacking potential takes a look at the defenders. We’ve already ran the rule over the midfielders and forwards in the past couple of days and now the men at the back come under analysis. Highlighting the top 10 performers in terms of threat in our own ICT Index, we also list the top 20 for goal attempts so far and cast an eye over their underlying stats to ascertain their possible Fantasy value going forward:
I honestly think this is close to our best team. Hopefully it's enough to beat Poland!
.....................Hart
Johnson Jagielka Lescott Cole
.............Gerrard Carrick
.... Milner.... Rooney... Cleverley
....................DefoeOpen ControlsAgreed. Hoping to see some good returns on that team tonight.
Open Controlsinteresting welbeck got dropped after scoring 2 last time (albeit against rubbish opposition but still)
Open ControlsWhen everyone's healthy, I think this is their best team:
Hart
Johnson Cahill Lescott Cole
Gerrard Wilshere
Milner Rooney Ox
DefoeOpen ControlsGood shout. But although Cahill is better than Jags, Jags used to play with Lescott at Everton and they were very successful together. I think club partnerships are important.

Nice rest for SantiOpen Controls
look set for this week:
Foster
Baines Evans Cuellar
Michu Hazard Bale Pienaar
Berbatov RVP LambertOpen Controlsthoughts on rotating Sterling and Kebe as 4th mid? Already have Kebe, am looking for a way to aquire Bale. I don't like Morrison's fixtures, so I could get Sterling in then look at moving Nolan out for Lallana or, if fit again, Ramirez.
Open ControlsCopycat
Open ControlsI don't like Mossison's fixtures but at that price, with that skill and improvement, I am keeping and playing.
Open Controlsah but if you didn't have him would you consider buying him. I still might end up with him when I replace Nolan. More importantly is Sterling actually worth picking or are we just being taken in by his price?
Open ControlsI wouldn't consider buying him for a few weeks, but I have other fish to fry at the moment and have pleasantly surprised Morrison so far. By the time I could sell him, I'd want him back.
Open Controlshmm, I will continue to consider it. I haven't ruled out Tarrabt yet either. It's tough, especially as I really want to keep Ramirez.
Open Controls
fixtures rotation look good but i dont line the idea of rotating attackers. their goals/assists will come randomly, regardless home/away or even easy/tough opponents (Lambert scored vs ManU & ManC, did nothing vs Wigan is an example)
Open Controls
Lens scored. Holland leading 1-0 against Romania.
Open Controlsthat's great 🙂
Open Controls
Nice one Serbia....
You can change your leaders but not your spots..... 🙄Open Controlsguys, wat u think about getting crouch next game week? is it worth picking him? seems to be a gud differential for the next few game weeks
Open ControlsSeems a good pick going by fixtures, but I could never bring myself to pick him.
Open Controls
Rain coming down hard in Warsaw.
Open ControlsAnyone thinking Gibbs may be not worth persisting with? Traditionally very injury prone with soft tissue injuries.
Open ControlsShould use Andrex!
Open Controls
best midfielder under 6.5?
currently looking at
morrison
lallana
ramirez (gaston)
anyone im missing?Open ControlsNolan......Cleverley if you're clever...I can see Fergie giving him a lot of Prem games over the next few weeks...leaving a few of the other United tribe for champions league...
Open Controlsnot nolan. he has terrible fixtures in a couple of weeks which is the time i am looking to brign someoen in.
can add wilshere to this list tooOpen Controls
Suarez makes most sense but he's Suarez, so frustrated
Open ControlsB
Open ControlsI've gone C if U R not going to captain a forward against Norwich why have him was my initial thought but It's risky because he plays more of a supporting role it seems to me, so I'm doubting my own advice
Open ControlsB

I know y'all don't like captain questions on here, and I know there is a captain pole on the front page, but nonetheless:
RVP, Baines, Nolan, Bale, Michu, Tevez, Fletcher and Pienaar
Who would YOU captain?Open ControlsOh didn't see RVP. Well that makes captaincy questions pretty redundant captain RVP and sleep tight
Open ControlsBut then face the agonising wait on Saturday from 11:30pm til around 2:15pm to see if he's starting.
Open ControlsAll part of the package, it'll happen either way. If you don't own him you're going to be tense cause well he's RVP and if you own him you're going to be tense - cause fell he's SAF. 🙂
Open ControlsBut I wouldn't captain him though unless he'd been rested midweek.
Let's see if he gets through the Netherlands game first eh?Open Controls
RVP or Tevez; you paid the money for this.
Open ControlsBale.
He's on a par with Ronaldo and Messi you know.Open ControlsRVP for 13m
Open ControlsRVP or Nolan. Replyfail said it... You paid the money for RVP. Nolan for the gamble.
Open ControlsI doubt there'll be loads of goals for Man U v Stoke though. I don't think price should come into it. It should be based on Quality, Form, Fixtures - which RVP is lacking in all but Quality.
I'm still gunna captain him though (probably).Open ControlsI'm not sure. Man U's defence frailties always means they're looking for more goals, especially at home. Yeah Stoke have been good but normally against slower attacking teams (Che, Ars, Man C) so they can get guys back. I do have Stake def and am not playing them. I think price should play a part as you could get many other big hitters and not have RVP. All this you know. Fixtures, surely he's fixture proof. Quality - No doubt, Form - Suspect 1 goal in 4 league games. Yes in cups but weaker opponents.

I asked this question the other day, but would appreciate some other responses...
Who would you rather have this GW: Mata or Bale.
Thanks.Open ControlsBale.
For the record, I'd rather have him most weeks.Open ControlsBale
Open ControlsBale, apart from being a heavier hitter then Mata IMHO, I also believe Mata will go deep again for the occasional game esp when Lamps doesn't play
Open ControlsHe often has to play deep for parts of the match when Lampard plays, covering for one of Lampard's bursts forward.
Open ControlsOh, that I didn't know. But do see the correlation between Mata's FPL points and the minutes Lamps has played. (Norwich being the anomaly cause Norwich just collapsed like a pack of cards anyways..) 🙂

the Irish game is terrible. Sorry, embarrassing.
Open ControlsYou asked me where I live in Berlin at some point but never replied. I live in Berlin. How about you?
Open ControlsCologne. Berlin is the business though
Open ControlsYou watching the Germany Sweden game? Wanted to get tickets but I was put off by the price.
Open Controls
"You asked me where I live in Berlin" so you have said generic Berlin.....

Funny for you, not for the welsh
Open ControlsNah. Williams with a bad backpass (again)
Open ControlsA rarebit of bad defending!
Open Controls- Open Controls
Standard 10/11 of Wales being poor. You just better hope Bale doesn't pull some world class footballing and/or diving skills to win them the game coming from behind as he did against us
Open Controlsmore less he play on his own
it's kinnda funny to watchOpen Controls
Martins Indi scored. Holland 2 up.
Open ControlsFFS Poland, why didn't you close your fecking roof! 😡
Open ControlsI dont get why they wouldnt just close it immediately. Surely they knew it was going to rain
Open ControlsThey said that the Polish didn't want it closed even though it was raining. And both teams have to agree for it to happen or some utter tosh like that.
Open ControlsI could understand the Polish wanting the ground to be damp, but surely none of them wanted to play in this!
Open Controls
These pansies in Poland should just play and get on with it.
Open ControlsFamily takeaway kebab in front of the footy tonight, proper slumming it! Thank the Lord for small mercies 🙂

I can't comprehend why racism still exists in this day and age. It's really sad.
My dad is Portugese, my mom is Filipina. I was born and raised in the USA.
My group of best mates consists of a white American, a black American, a Brit, an Aussie, and a Japanese guy.
Learn to accept and appreciate people from all walks of life people!
I apologize for the rant fellas.Open ControlsI bet there's a good joke somewhere in that 4th sentence 🙂
Open ControlsTends to occur most in countries with either a) no real history of colonising and subsequent immigration, or b) countries with only very recent immigration.
That's no excuse, of course.Open ControlsI was going to say something along those lines. It mainly stems from ignorance in my personal experience.
