Costa is a machine. Great finish for the first and great reaction for the 2nd. Dangerous in all situations.
Hazard played 81 minutes and was very lively created chances. Looking sharp, ignore anyone on here who says he won't be fit. Oscar on the other hand looked off the pace.
Fabregas played deep along with Matic. One would stay and one would go forward (certainly wasn't always Fab)
Ivanovic had an excellent first half at RB. (switched at HT to CB)
Luis and Azpili came on at HT. Luis always looking to get forward and overlap. Put some decent crosses in the box.
Overall some of the first touch passing and movement was a joy to watch at times. Only Jose knows the back 4 line up fr Monday. I suspect it will be Luis and Azpili myself in the fullback roles.Open Controls

Open ControlsHonestly if he signs for them can see him being a regular before he was injured he was a regular for Liverpool for a while and he plays surprising a lot like Ivan does for Chelsea. Looks very awkward at full back but works well there and likes to push forward a lot.

Hopefully we will get some more insight from TP as to where he sees him fitting in best, but as of right now, it would make the most sense to me to play Kelly in his natural RB position and play Ward again, out of position, at LB. Ward out of position at LB is better than Mariappa I think, but it would problematically not allow Ward to further develop at his natural position. But for right now, today, I think this would be best for the team. That is, unless TP buys a proper LB.
Another option may be to play Ward at CDM next to Jedi, and keep Mariappa at LB. My Liverpool friend really rates Kelly and is telling me he has been having a great preseason and looks fully fit for the first time in ages. Another possibility is Kelly rotating in as a CB next to Dann, but the presence of Delaney and Hangeland complicates that.
Really tough to say what will happen and if we don't get further insight from Pulis before the weekend, I reckon the safest bet is to go with Ward until the dust settles.Open Controls

The real question is whether or not TP will trust him straight away and thrust him into the lineup. It could go either way, really. I would definitely not risk starting with him though.

hear me out, I'm just writing some thoughts down, playing devils advocate
we don't know who will start for Chelsea at GK, CB, LB or RB
it costs at least 6 mil to take a punt on the starters and if you are wrong not only do you have your most expensive defender of the bench but theres a chances everyone else who made the same choice will start jumping ship forcing you to transfer out
Now if you start without a Chelsea defender but leave yourself the means to transfer one in quickly if ownership starts increasing you are less likely to be forced into a transfer or lose money. Ownership of Chelsea defs are unlikely to shoot up quickly but may drop sharply
the question is, is it worth waiting until gw2 or 3 to pick a Chelsea def/gk?

2 is very nice
3 is full of players who are very inconsistent and it's probably the worst of the bunch.
