Our Monday afternoon regular is rolled out once again, as we scour the Premier League treatment rooms to assess the players who picked up injuries over the weekend action.

Aston Villa
The Midlands outfit were hit hard by a virus prior to the weekend home defeat to Arsenal. Paul Lambert confirmed Darren Bent and Nathan Baker missed out altogether, whilst Ashley Westwood also failed to feature – he was initially named in the starting XI but was forced to drop out. Andi Weimann was also subbed off at the break after struggling to overcome the same problem.

Burnley
Clarets midfielder David Jones was subbed off after 86 minutes of the weekend goalless draw against Sunderland with “a minor thigh injuryâ€.

Chelsea
Ramires was withdrawn on 63 minutes having suffered a knee injury. Early reports suggest that the Brazilian could face a term of absence with the midfielder undergoing scans early this week.

Liverpool
Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Philippe Coutinho missed the trip to West Ham due to a groin problem, while Jordan Henderson is being assessed after picking up a hip complaint.

Man United
Jonny Evans was withdrawn after just 30 minutes of United’s loss at Leicester with a leg problem and, post-match, Louis van Gaal admitted:

“I don’t know how bad Evans is. We have to wait for a scan tomorrow but he is on crutches.â€

Newcastle
Cheick Tiote will be assessed after limping off towards the end of Saturday’s home draw with Hull.

QPR
The problems are building up in midfield for Harry Redknapp. Joey Barton and Jordon Mutch were passed fit for Saturday’s home clash with Stoke after heading into the match as doubts due to hamstring problems – both players were subsequently subbed off with a recurrence of the injuries, whilst Sandro missed out altogether due to a knee complaint.

Southampton
Both Maya Yoshida and James Ward-Prowse were forced off with ankle problems in the weekend win at Swansea. New boy Toby Alderweireld missed Liberty clash with a minor hamstring problem but is expected to be back next weekend.

Sunderland
Steven Fletcher and Ricardo Alvarez missed the Black Cats’ trip to Burnley due to a calf complaint and knock respectively, though the latter has since been passed fit for tomorrow’s Capital One clash with Stoke. Gus Poyet has also revealed that Emmanuel Giaccherini was forced off on his first start of the season and will be assessed:

“Giaccherini had plenty of energy, going between the lines and I think he was one of our best players. That was the idea of playing him; to create that little bit more. He was thereabouts, so it’s not bad from him. Unfortunately, he took a big knock which we need to check today.â€

Swansea
Dwight Tiendalli missed the weekend home defeat to Southampton with a slight groin problem.

West Brom
Giorgos Samaras missed out through injury as the Baggies picked up a 1-0 win at Spurs yesterday.

West Ham
Midfielder Cheick Kouyate is set to undergo scans after picking up a groin problem against Liverpool on Saturday evening – the summer signing stayed on the field after Sam Allardyce had made all three substitutions.

Moreno Clyne Bertrand Moore Hutton. Current Defense
    GW7 Bertrand > Robertson
    GW8 Robertson> Chambers, Moreno> Kolarov
Kolarov Clyne Chambers Moore Hutton. GW8 Defense
    Seem sensible ?

Too many transfers in defence, Bertrand to Robertson for 1 week is a waste.

Buying Kolariv is rarely sensible 🙂

Its too avoid double Saints away to Spurs gw7, Robertson good fixture and Chambers looks good from gw8, may just keep Moreno but City look good for CS's and no real 'Clichy' games from gw8

Spurs just failed to score at home to West Brom. Not saying they will have another awful performance so soon but it's one bad game in a run of great fixtures for Bertrand. Hull are leaking goals.

I think you'd be better off just doing Moreno to Chambers in GW8.

Trying to pick a cheap midfielder. Thoughts on who you'd pick out of:

    a) Jedinak (4.9)
    b) Marney (4.5)
    c) Barry (5.0)
    d) Capoue (5.0)
    e) Kranjcar (5.0)

I want someone who I know will play first and foremost; don't want to have to switch out someone who gets dropped from the starting eleven. I think I'm leaning towards Kranjcar at the moment. He seems to have the most scoring potential out of the lot, and I'm assuming Harry will always keep him starting.

Well, seeing as though Louis went public and declared that Rooney's best position is number 10, I would say there's little chance of Mata making a comeback next week. Van Gaal will probably persist with the current formation for a at least a few games before admitting he was talking out of his arse.

So yes, I would make the move.

Bobby Moore was very strange. In a weird way, he was not really West Ham, he was England.

haha good thread. fingers crossed on Kouyate.. I've heard it could be 5 weeks... Any info on this?

Looks like 6 weeks, missing 5 games according to David Gold.

Nolan may be able to force his way back in now with Kouyate injured, Allardyce has tried playing him in a deeper role before, including during pre season. I'd still rather Poyet replace Kouyate and Nolan battle it out with Downing & Zarate for the tip of the diamond.

Song is clearly the most composed player in our sqaud and he just looks classy. As you say, he seems to have unlimited time when on the ball. I wonder if there is a buy out clause at the end of the loan spell and whether we would even have a chance of landing him - perhaps if we had an unusually great season (6-7th).

    Heaton Gilks
    Baines Clyne Chambers Moore Wisdom

Costa Lukaku 4.9m (would have been Jutkiewicz, could be Vardy)

I'd always envisioned two premium priced forwards in this formation but I don't love Aguero's price and am giving the MUN forwards some time to sort themselves out. Any thought appreciated.

Reckon Naismith to Ulloa will be the popular move. I don't have either. He's been dropped a lot this week already but the ownership is still high overall.

He was rested for one game with the derby in mind. He will play the full game imo but price will drop if he doesn't get at least an assist and almost everyone will switch to Ulloa

100% yes. Costa will keep rising every week. Man is a goal machine.

Ok so here's how my team is shaping up for week 6:

    Begovic (Guzan)
    Clyne, Williams, Lovren (Coloccini)
Ramsey (V), Siggy, Chadli, ADM, Larsson
    Pelle, Costa (C) (Adebayor)

I've just used my FT to swop Mata for ADM and I have £1.9m in the bank. I'm not sure Adebayor is going to be worth keeping and have been thinking I might take the hit and bring in Ulloa and bench Chadli this week.

Worth it or just wait? Any other suggestions on my line up? I know my defence isn't the best, maybe swop Coloccini for Ivanovic in the next week or 2.

    Cheers guys

Thanks for the advice.....and I'd say go for it with Costa before he get's anymore expensive. Rooney doesn't seem as comfortable playing in what was Mata's preferred position, but looks like it's his lot from now on.

Is this a good move(next week): hendo,Silva and naismith --> marney, sterling and welbeck?

If so my team will look like this:

    Krul Mannone
    Clyne Pieters Taylor Wisdom Vlaar
    Sterling Fab Ramsey Siggy Marney
    Costa Aguero Welbeck

    Thoughts?

Looks good. Since you have Welbeck, maybe get ADM for Ramsey? If you have the money that is.

Ulloa is definitely looking like a good prospect. He'll hopefully make up the points used and more next week!

With Lukaku misfiring, I wouldn't get rid of Naismith so quickly. But everyone is tempted to switch Naismith to Ulloa. Don't lose 4 points. See what happens this week and decide. What if Pelle gets a hatrick? 😀

Any thoughts on my Wildcard Team?
    Foster--Hamer
    Baines--Clyne--Duff--Chambers--Hutton
    Sterling--Ramsey--Fabregas--Sigurdsson--Di Maria
    Ulloa--Welbeck--Costa

    0.1 in the bank.

As Evans is injured and unlikely to be fit for the weekend, can anyone recommend a decent 1-3 GW defender to replace him. Have 0.6m in the bank so can bring anyone up to 6m.

Already have Moreno and Clyne. Thinking either Rojo or Azpilicueta.

    Any suggestions?
