The season could barely have started brighter for Raheem Sterling after the youngster grabbed two goals and an assist in the opening three Gameweeks for Liverpool. With Daniel Sturridge sidelined ever since, however, Sterling has struggled to replicate his early form, scoring just once and earning a pair of assists in the subsequent six Gameweeks.

Despite a weekend showdown against Newcastle on his agenda, Sterling is the most sold player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, with over 65,000 owners parting company in order to acquire the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Dusan Tadic and Cesc Fabregas.

In our second members article of the week, we take a look at his displays with and without Sturridge on the park in order to ascertain just why he’s failed to deliver.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Nothing to distinguish him from anyone else at City. Was brought in to do well in the Champs League and thats hardly going well. Last season's league was as much to do with Liverpool and Chelsea imploding.

Good manager dont get me wrong, but from the Ranieri school if you ask me. I think last year was his first trophy.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini refuses to be drawn on the chances of David Silva and Yaya Toure being fit for Sunday's derby against Manchester United.

Both Ivory Coast powerhouse Toure and Spain star Silva were taken off with injuries. "We will see tomorrow what the doctors say," says the Chilean boss.

    Foster 4.0
    Baines Bertrand Chambers (Dummett, 4.0)
    Eriksen Sanchez Barkley Fabregas (Amalfitano)
    Aguero Berahino Costa

Tadic or Mane in midfield maybe for saints attacking cover perhaps?

I have no clue what to do now re strikers....

    Aguero - class
Pelle - on fire and good next few fixtures
    Welbeck - BUR next

    And then there's

Costa - essential before his injury and QPR next

    Options...talk to me....

    A. PVA / Pelle > Chambers / Costa (c) - the original plan

    B. PVA / AdM > Baines / Hazard (c) - but then can't get Costa again without losing Aguero, hits or a WC

    C. PVA / Aguero > Chambers / Costa - crazy talk right? Right??

    D. Sterling / Welbeck > Tadic / Costa (could add PVA > Chambers for -4)

    E. AdM / Welbeck > Ramsey (or Tadic) / Costa (ditto re -4 option)

    Thanks 🙂

Costa is gone. Maureen is in a strop. Chelski rumble on, although without pzazz. In the meantime, Saints and Hammers are playing like Barcelona.

Citeh are shit this Season, United likely to be so. Arsenal waiting for the carburettor to clear.

Think outside the box. Take a few hits. Live a little.

The three you are taking out are perfectly good options... I don't see why you would want to take a hit and replace them with the players you've mentioned

          1. mr messi
            • 15 Years
            11 years, 1 month ago

I want Baines and can't see a better downgrade for Sterling at 7.4m so need some cash from Bego.

If you want Baines that much and that's the best way you can get him in, then go for it. But I don't think it's a given that your new 3 players will outscore the old 3 you're replacing and I would need to be pretty sure they would do, in order to take those moves, especially for a hit
