After three rounds of fixtures in just seven days, there has been a flurry of transfer activity as Fantasy managers look to freshen up their festive squads. We look back at the emerging template team following that trio of Gameweeks and also catch up on the impact on our community leagues. Once again, we showcase the latest Members tables and find out first-hand just how fast Raheem Sterling is.

The Community Articles

Jarvis was crowned Community Champion for Gameweek 14’s Scout Picks, and managed to beat one out of three of the Scouts. Gameweek 13’s champion Beavis was even more successful, becoming the first to beat all three of us.  Meanwhile, Kurren won the honour of representing the community for this weekend’s matches and will be hoping for similar success.

Of Arvination’s trio of attacking punts for Gameweek 14, Kevin Mirallas was his only successful pick. The Puntmaster failed to replicate his Gameweek 13 success – where he tipped Glen Johnson – none of his Gameweek 14 picks paid off, sadly. He’ll be needing a better performance from his Gameweeek 15 trio to ensure his magical soothsaying  reputation remains intact.

Finally, SC Not Pearls Before Swine drafted this excellent round up of the best four mid-price options in midfield.

Please remember to vote in our latest monthly top article competition. To vote for your favourite in November, leave the name of the community article in the replies to this hot topic. The winner of this illustrious honour also receives a £25 voucher.

The Hottest Topics

With so many Gameweeks in such a short space of time, the transfer market has kicked into overdrive and the template team going into Gameweek 13 is likely to be far different from the one to emerge from this weekend’s matches. Earlier in the week, Rodellegabomb was on hand to analyse the latest emerging template among the top 10,000 Fantasy Premier League managers.

Among departing players from the top 10,000 template this week is Diego Costa. His Gameweek 14 suspension persuaded more than a fifth of this elite group to part company with the Chelsea striker. Grannville, though, was left perplexed as to why more haven’t followed them due to Costa’s poor recent form and lack of bonus point potential.

One player that is refusing to budge from the template is Sergio Aguero, who was owned by more than eight out of ten top 10,000 players going into Gameweek 14 and has an overall ownership of more than a third. Shortly after his 16-point haul against Sunderland on Wednesday, we asked whether he is currently essential. Surprisingly, there are still some in the community who believe he isn’t.

A popular strategy is to have a cheap fifth midfielder, who can come in when needed but spends most of the time benched. George Boyd’s midweek goal served a timely reminder of his suitability for this role, but Dino reckons that, given forthcoming festive rotation, a more expensive and better scoring fifth midfielder is a wiser move.

Former template favourite Raheem Sterling is gradually coming back into form, with an assist during the week in Liverpool’s win at Leicester. Scorcher Prime is among those who knows him best, having played against him back in their school days. “He would just always go around me or backpass it for an open goal,” he revealed in the ensuing name dropping discussion.

Finally, Badgevilla sparked one of the week’s longest discussions when he asked fellow FFScout Members to rate their top three reasons for signing up to the extra statistics and tools that Membership offers. Speaking of which…

The Members Tables

Among the key Members tables to catch the eye this week were Jonesb1987’s two-team based collection of statistics looking at the best attacks and best defences on offer this season.

McNulty has also been busy table constructing with a look at the most attacking defenders, midfielders and forwards. These have a global time filter so feel free to tinker to get a season overview and also more recent form.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Leagues

Zep popped by with an update to his Dead Team Challenge, where community members a pick team in Gameweek 1 and leave it untouched for the season. Ahead of Gameweek 14’s matches The Casual was good to his name, topping the league with 739 points and a rank of around 11,000.

Tinkerman just can’t be shifted at the summit of the FFScout moderators and contributors league. Athletico Timbo is the latest to step into his shadow in second place.

Rasping Drive also keeps a firm hold on the Puffinboy Memorial Cup, but has lost his lead in the FFS Old Farts Club to Dan Clark, as well as pole position in the FFS Dead Zone league to Paul Kitchener.

      I think all three will concede.

      Go for whichever one you don't have an attacker on the pitch for, e.g. if you have a West Ham attacker, bench Rangel.

      Wisdom probably best chance of the cleanie.

      He played well, got injured, got fit again but Pochettino didn't want to risk him, then Spurs played out of their skin so he didn't start the next game against Chelsea, but then Chelsea demolished them so now the Spurs fans want him back in again.

      He should play.

    Need advice on whether to Save or make the transfer
    Current Forward Line = Rooney Aguero Austin

    I have the view to eventually get Rooney back in. Just questioning whether Kane's next two / three fixtures are tempting. Based on how Kane performs I may transfer Rooney back in for Austin?

    Should I
    A) Transfer Rooney out for Kane (leaves 5.6 ITB)
    B) Save the transfer?

          It's only GW 15, 24 including this one to go, there is no need to take risks yet. I'd only C Austin if you think the rest of your team is worst than those above, even then I'd probably take -4 pts to sort it out so you can C Aguero.

      no - although the problem is even if austin does well, aguero is likely to at least get close to him, which would nullify the effect of this move...basically the odds of an austin brace and kun blank are low

    Does this make sense -
    Siggy -> Hazard
    Rooney -> Kane

    For a -4 hit

    My reasoning is Rooney usually does not hit form after injuries and 2 quite difficult games are coming. And Siggy has been doing average fantasy vise

    My other option would be -
    Rooney -> Costa
    Siggy -> Fer/Henderson

    Or just stop overthinking and save the FT.

    I thought I'd be better off doing Bertrand to Azpilicueta, but a quick look at RMT tells me I'll be on the same points 6 game weeks from now, but have less money in the bank. It's obviously not the be all and end all, but is anybody considering keeping Bertrand or Clyne?

    I got them Bertrand at 5.2 and really don't want to lose him.

          doubt it - mourinho loves azpi and with the rate at which they are keeping cleqn sheets id imagine mourinho would be hesitant to change the defence any time soon 🙂

      5.2 is ok. You'll sell him at 5.4 and he'll probably drop 0.2.

      The major dilemma is for Clyne owners like me who got him at 5.0 and now's he 5.8. 😛

    I have 1.8 in the bank. Should I use my FT to remove Duff or N.Taylor or should I just play Clyne? (I am not removing Clyne till someone removes him and he's just about to fall. :D) I got a pretty decent team (only needed one hit in last 6-7 GWs) so I don't mind wasting a transfer on defence.

    Going out and won't be back before price changes so any final opinions would be great:

    Elliot (Krul)
    Baines Terry Hutton (Wisdom) (Naylor)
    Fab Siggy Sanchez Downing (Marney)
    Aguero (C) Costa Austin

    2 FT 0.3 itb.

    I'm pretty happy with my team for this week, with the only issue being backline benching dilemmas which are yet to be fully decided.

    Wondering whether to do:
    1) Krul -> Guzan
    2) Krul -> Alnwick (newcastle 3rd keeper at 4 mil since krul's out for about 10 games)
    3) Marney -> Boyd

    It's a bit out there but since I don't particularly want to double on villa def with guzan (would probably then bench Hutton and play wisdom for this week if I was to do that), I'm not disliking B. Guaranteed to field a keeper and at absolute bargain basement price, which I'm sure will be useful somewhere else. The only issue is NEW fixtures, which, as an apprehensive fan, aren't particularly inviting.

    In any case - what do you reckon? Cheers.

        Is he really that different to Boyd? Boyd has scored twice in 14 weeks, Marney none. Your chances of picking a week where Boyd scores to play him are not high anyway.

      1 for me - youd be playing Naylor most of the time anyway, avoiding the double up 😉

      this gw double up would be great though

        my reasons are very bad away form, swansea don't crate a lot of chances, they had 2 easy home fixtures and Bony only got a goal and assist. they don't score enough for an 8.3 price tag i think there is equal value in the likes of Austin and Ings.

            exactly. i do rate Bony and think he is great (really wish Liverpool had bought him) but I don't think he is worth the money when Austin should get similar if not better points. Plus Bony rarely plays 90mins. And that extra money means a premium defender.

          I just dumped Bony after only having him for a week.

          Did Bony-Austin. This gives me spare money to do Fab-Sanchez and Naylor-Azpi next week.
