After three rounds of fixtures in just seven days, there has been a flurry of transfer activity as Fantasy managers look to freshen up their festive squads. We look back at the emerging template team following that trio of Gameweeks and also catch up on the impact on our community leagues. Once again, we showcase the latest Members tables and find out first-hand just how fast Raheem Sterling is.

The Community Articles

Jarvis was crowned Community Champion for Gameweek 14’s Scout Picks, and managed to beat one out of three of the Scouts. Gameweek 13’s champion Beavis was even more successful, becoming the first to beat all three of us.  Meanwhile, Kurren won the honour of representing the community for this weekend’s matches and will be hoping for similar success.

Of Arvination’s trio of attacking punts for Gameweek 14, Kevin Mirallas was his only successful pick. The Puntmaster failed to replicate his Gameweek 13 success – where he tipped Glen Johnson – none of his Gameweek 14 picks paid off, sadly. He’ll be needing a better performance from his Gameweeek 15 trio to ensure his magical soothsaying  reputation remains intact.

Finally, SC Not Pearls Before Swine drafted this excellent round up of the best four mid-price options in midfield.

Please remember to vote in our latest monthly top article competition. To vote for your favourite in November, leave the name of the community article in the replies to this hot topic. The winner of this illustrious honour also receives a £25 voucher.

The Hottest Topics

With so many Gameweeks in such a short space of time, the transfer market has kicked into overdrive and the template team going into Gameweek 13 is likely to be far different from the one to emerge from this weekend’s matches. Earlier in the week, Rodellegabomb was on hand to analyse the latest emerging template among the top 10,000 Fantasy Premier League managers.

Among departing players from the top 10,000 template this week is Diego Costa. His Gameweek 14 suspension persuaded more than a fifth of this elite group to part company with the Chelsea striker. Grannville, though, was left perplexed as to why more haven’t followed them due to Costa’s poor recent form and lack of bonus point potential.

One player that is refusing to budge from the template is Sergio Aguero, who was owned by more than eight out of ten top 10,000 players going into Gameweek 14 and has an overall ownership of more than a third. Shortly after his 16-point haul against Sunderland on Wednesday, we asked whether he is currently essential. Surprisingly, there are still some in the community who believe he isn’t.

A popular strategy is to have a cheap fifth midfielder, who can come in when needed but spends most of the time benched. George Boyd’s midweek goal served a timely reminder of his suitability for this role, but Dino reckons that, given forthcoming festive rotation, a more expensive and better scoring fifth midfielder is a wiser move.

Former template favourite Raheem Sterling is gradually coming back into form, with an assist during the week in Liverpool’s win at Leicester. Scorcher Prime is among those who knows him best, having played against him back in their school days. “He would just always go around me or backpass it for an open goal,” he revealed in the ensuing name dropping discussion.

Finally, Badgevilla sparked one of the week’s longest discussions when he asked fellow FFScout Members to rate their top three reasons for signing up to the extra statistics and tools that Membership offers. Speaking of which…

The Members Tables

Among the key Members tables to catch the eye this week were Jonesb1987’s two-team based collection of statistics looking at the best attacks and best defences on offer this season.

McNulty has also been busy table constructing with a look at the most attacking defenders, midfielders and forwards. These have a global time filter so feel free to tinker to get a season overview and also more recent form.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Leagues

Zep popped by with an update to his Dead Team Challenge, where community members a pick team in Gameweek 1 and leave it untouched for the season. Ahead of Gameweek 14’s matches The Casual was good to his name, topping the league with 739 points and a rank of around 11,000.

Tinkerman just can’t be shifted at the summit of the FFScout moderators and contributors league. Athletico Timbo is the latest to step into his shadow in second place.

Rasping Drive also keeps a firm hold on the Puffinboy Memorial Cup, but has lost his lead in the FFS Old Farts Club to Dan Clark, as well as pole position in the FFS Dead Zone league to Paul Kitchener.

Not really. I play the game using my guttt. I got it right with Aguero (c) midweek and I've got it right most weeks this season.
I don't put much faith in stats. I just have a feeling Costa will brace this time.

Kun has much greater points ceiling IMO. Castle might park the bus. Everton & Martinez prefer to attack. Kun has Penalties & Bonus appeal on his favour as well.

Think so. I think Aguero will be getting limited game time this week and have a feeling he won't score as much for some reason.

Is it based on intuition ?

They have a game coming up on Wednesday that is absolutely crucial for them, in order to progress in the Champions League (Roma away). I think that they will want Aguero as fit as possible for that game and can see him being taken off if they are cruising towards victory.

Also (although I personally don't really believe in stats and think it's mainly a game of luck), after all of his "big" hauls, Aguero has been quiet the GW following it: http://imgur.com/TOWrNXE .

This could of course be completely wrong and we see him tear Everton a new one over the weekend.

Don't really buying the 'Small returns following big return argument'..

            But indeed,
The possibility of him being substituted probably at the hour mark against Everton is a bit scary. Put it simple, no one wants his captain to not play the full 90 minutes and the same goes for me.

Your point is taken. At least by me.
In fact I thought of creating a possible discussion on it to see what others think a in this very thread. Let's see what others think about it!

Yea. But I consider Villa has the upper edge against Leicester but QPR and Burnley pretty much at the same level.

If I have to choose to bring Baines in, it will be for Yun.

But then again something in me tells that Baines going to bag only 1 pts this week. Hmmm.

    CAPTAIN Armband :

Even though Kun Aguero is heavily leading in GW15 Captaincy poll, mainly due a home fixture and his last week's exploits.

But the question is, is he THE best choice for the armband this gameweek too ?

NOTE : If you want to simply play it safe, go for Kun Aguero and don't even bother about discussing it with anyone.

But considering that Kun's fantasy returns has been less than impressive at the Etihad and there is a resounding probability that he might not get the full 90 minutes ahead of the all important midweek fixture in CL.

Would you dare to handover the armband to Diego Costa or Sanchez or Hazard ?

Costa and Hazard both underperformed away from home this season. Sanchez over those 2

I still Aguero is THE best choice, regardles. 2nd for me though would be Austin

Yea Austin seems to be a logical choice.
Since QPR always seems to go for opposition's throat at the Loftus Road.

But giving the armband to a budget striker is not many people do, especially when there are some elite names in the team. What about Hazard as an alternative, mainly because of his bonus potential besides the goals scoring nous he already inherits ?

If Wenger plays Giroud alongside Welbeck, Sanchez might have to play on the flank.

A is 0.5m more expensive. That might be the price for potential assist and Baps of Azpi then.

Yes, I do still have Lovren in my team. But his time to go has finally come in my team as well. Actually not doing too bad even though Ive kept him for his awesome hauls. Of course he grabbed the winner against Swansea in the cup to lure me into keeping him for some more nice fixtures.

    Lovren to ?; (max 5,6m)

    a) Hutton+1,1m
    b) G. Johnson + 0,0m
    c) other?

Considering I got a defence of Baines, Clyne, Caulker and Chambers.

I am edging towards G. Johnson despite his rotation threat as he got some really nice home games until January WC. And he's got a good fixture GW 18, which is pretty key for most of us, as our West Ham and QPR darlings got horrible fixtures (for me; Downing, Sakho, Austin, Caulker).

Thats why I havent added Cresswell to my viable options. Yesterday I was all about Clichy, but now Kolarov has screwed up my plans. Im short on decent options.

Team linked in profile. As you might see my team is a bit different set up from most, as I think a more evenly stacked team with 13 good value options + 2 captaincy options is better than a setup stacked with the low-value heavy hitters and a useless bench.

    Anyway, help appreciated!

I went GJ and as I expected, I already regret it.

With your team you have 4 strong defenders already so I'd probably go cheap with a Sunderland defender. They rotate well with QPR until wildcard season. Maybe O'Shea?

He got a nice rotation , yeah, but only games he is viable until january is WHM(H) and HUL(H). Not doing it.

Interesting fact btw; from now until GW21 the teams are divided into either having 4 home games and 2 away games or the opposite. Not really considering anything with 2 home games then. Not even Sanchez :O
