As the race for the title heats up with just ten rounds of fixtures remaining, FantasyBet have made their latest big pot live, with a £3,000 contest coming up in Gameweek 31 – look out for qualifiers over the next couple of weeks or enter now for a £22 entry fee.

For the upcoming weekend we have some intriguing match-ups to consider before picking our squads. The North London derby’s customary hectic nature is set to continue and, with Spurs and Arsenal losing crucial midweek ties, this clash could be a turning point for both their title aspirations.

Manchester City also need to bounce back from defeat and are fortunate to be facing an Aston Villa team that look destined for the Championship. Leicester City, meanwhile, will be buoyed by the fact that Wednesday’s results meant they extended their lead at the summit with a home draw against West Brom the previous day. The Foxes now head to Vicarage Road with a three-point advantage ahead of Saturday evening’s late kick-off.

At Stamford Bridge a resurgent Chelsea should take advantage of a Stoke defence hit by injuries, while West Ham remain in the hunt for a European spot as they visit Goodison Park to face free-scoring Everton. Swansea’s win at the Emirates will have attracted extra attention in their chief protagonists prior to a home match against Norwich.

If you are unfamiliar with FantasyBet it is particularly accessible for those who play Fantasy Premier League, as it uses a similar scoring and player pricing system.

Check out this daily and weekly fantasy guide to see how the game works.

MY TEAM:

Kasper Schmeichel (4.5m)
Ashley Williams (4.5m)
Vincent Kompany (6m)
Branislav Ivanovic (6.5m)
Bertrand Traore (5m)
James Milner (6.5m)
Riyad Mahrez (6.5m)
Gylfi Sigurdsson (7m)
David Silva (10m)
Jamie Vardy (7.5m)
Sergio Aguero (13m)

KEY PICKS

Kasper Schmeichel: The league leaders may be away from the King Power on Saturday evening but they travel to a Watford side that have failed to score in six of their last eight outings. The Danish keeper has kept six clean sheets in ten for the Foxes, indicating an underlying solidity, and his 16 saves over the last four away ties also signals extra points.

Vincent Kompany: Manchester City’s defence has tended to benefit from their captain’s presence – prior to his recent return from injury, the Belgian recorded seven clean sheets in eight appearances. Despite conceding five goals over the last two, Kompany looks likely to get back amongst the points as goal-shy Aston Villa visit the Etihad.

Gylfi Sigurdsson: Utilised as a second-half sub at the Emirates, the Swansea playmaker still found time to provide an assist in the 2-1 comeback win. Sigurdsson has also netted five times in the last nine Gameweeks ahead of a plum home clash with Norwich’s porous defence.

Sergio Aguero: The City striker may have been kept quiet by Liverpool and Spurs in recent outings but he’s still managed six strikes in as many matches, including braces against Palace and West Ham. The visit of basement-dwellers Villa should see Aguero return to form this weekend, with the Argentine voted the runaway winner in this week’s Captain Poll.

THIS WEEK’S GAME PICKS

As always the best place to start if you’re new to FantasyBet are the freerolls – there is a £50 pot available for this Gameweek in both the standard weekly fantasy game and Flash format.

For the fixtures on Saturday there is a Double-up contest, which has a £3.30 buy-in, and there’s a £150 pot on offer.

The Grand Weekend contest only misses the match at White Hart Lane, so line-ups can be entered right up until the 3pm kick-offs. It’s now £11 to enter for a chance to win part of the £1000 guaranteed prize money.

LAST WEEK

My bad run continued, as backing both Arsenal and Spurs proving to be foolhardy in the quest to improve my dwindling pot. I’m now on £145 and need to pick up even a small win or two to arrest the slump. Sonova won the free-roll with 82 points, an impressive host of differential paying off with considerable hauls – Juan Mata, Danny Drinkwater, James Milner and Ramiro Funes Mori all bringing 10 points or more.

THIS WEEK’S STAKE

I’m entering the Saturday Double-up contest, the Weekend Flash, the Cheap Sunday, the freerolls and entering a team into the FFScout Picks League for a total outlay of £11.

In addition, I’ll be going up against BabyB, the Community champion in this week’s Scout Picks. He will be taking me on in a specially set up head to head game for a chance to win free entry into a £500 Guaranteed ‘Big Weekly’ game worth £22.

Also, the eligible Community Champion who beats the Scout Picks by the highest margin every month will win a free entry into the £600 guaranteed ‘Boss’ game worth £55.

FFSCOUT PICKS LEAGUE

Dada topped the Scout Picks League with a score of 58 points – captain Diego Costa provided 12 points, while a double-up of Stoke defenders also delivered, with Jack Butland and Philip Wollscheid providing 15 between them.

Once again, FantasyBet have provided a £100 pot for the FFScout Picks League – with a £1.10 stake for entry, it is now possible to enter two teams into this contest. I will enter our Scout Picks as closely as possible, given a 15-man squad is required with the 100m budget and a captain also needs to be selected.

Feel free to go up against them this week and pick your own squad on FantasyBet.

    From the Team News section...

Sterling looks a likely starter after playing just 45 minutes on Wednesday night, while Jesus Navas will also be in contention, which could even see the City boss consider resting David Silva.

I very much doubt Silva will get a rest, especially when City have no midweek fixture!! They need to win, full strength team.

Sterling was a passenger. Navas was city's best player on the day i reckon.

If you watched City vs Pool, Silva stunk the place out. Would not surprise me if he didn't start.
Probably the worst performance of any visiting player at Anfield this season.

A lot of planning going on, involving WC33 and load up on 15 DGW34 players.
Im not sure thats the way to go.

It will mean you will get a lot of players with blank gw35.
You also have to lose all LEI and TOT players, and they argubly has some really tasty GW35 fixtures.
LEI - SWA and TOT - WBA with no risk of a blank.

Wouldnt it be better to start the planning now and get players that have a GW30 and also a future DGW like City and Newcastle players? And Everton and Liverpool players from GW31.

    This will give you:
    1. 9 x DGW34 players + (2 players from LEI and/or TOT) and give you the opportunity to play your Tripple Captain in DGW34.
    2. A ful squad for GW35 with Leicester and Tottehnham players still intact
    3. WC36 and let your Leicester and Tottenham players go, their fixtures takes a litle turn to the worse here.
    4: Save transfer GW37
5: Get a crazy DGW37 team of 15 with no risk of future blanks. Lets hope 6 teams get DGW37.
6: Use 2 transfers to fix the team for the final GW.

    Whats your thinking?

It's not a bad shout in theory. All depends on the fixtures though and which one is the monster dgw 34 or 37.

Did you read Balders hot topic on the subject? It set a formula for 15 players in 34, 11 in 35 and around 10 in DGW 37.
      Sorry I haven't the link.

Ok how does the team look for this week?

Can't decide whether to bench Smith, Toby or Fuchs?!

    Forster
    Toby Azpi Fuchs
    Silva Siggy Payet Mahrez
    Aguero Vardy Kane

    Alli Smith Wolly

    G2G?

    Forster
    Van Dijk, Simpson, Daniels
    Sanchez, Ozil, Mahrez, Alli
    Aguero (C), Kane, Vardy

    Got Alde on the bench...

Many on here seem to be getting rid of Payet for Siggy / Silva for this week. Is this partly driven by the fact that Arsenal (so Ozil or Sanchez) could well have a blank in GW 30 meaning having only 3 playing midfielders if they keep Payet?

    1. jeppee

Yes thats considered. Ozil is a season keeper

Selling players with something to play for might not be the best idea . The teams that usually do the worst in the last couple of weeks are the mid table teams like Swansea , Stoke etc .

    The real question is:

Will Aguero start his fourth game in 10 days? This is a guy who sometimes is rested when they play twice a week.. keep in mind one of the games he played included 30 min ET.
He could come on if needed, but will not be needed unless a miracle happens

I think it depends if Arsenal have a blank 30. even if they don't probably still would get rid of bellerin. i'm contemplating if Bellerin or Moreno should go first 🙂
