We return to the customary ten-fixture slate in FantasyBet this time around. Their weekly flagship pot, the Grand Weekend contest, covers all of those match-ups and has £1000 on offer in prizes as usual.

Once again there’s a qualifier with three tickets available for entry into the Grand Finale. That game has £5000 up for grabs in the final round of the season, by far FantasyBet’s largest ever prize pot.

If you would like to try something new as the season winds down, it’s worth checking out the Flash freeroll. This refreshing format has a three-minute time limit in which to construct your squad, testing your knowledge of the player list, which itself is a ‘lucky’ roster, with each participant receiving a unique set of players to pick from. That makes for some left-field line-ups and those differentials you’ve had your eye on suddenly become captain candidates.

If you are unfamiliar with FantasyBet it is particularly accessible for those who play Fantasy Premier League, as it uses a similar scoring and pricing system.

Check out this daily and weekly fantasy football guide to see how the game works.

MY TEAM

Heurelho Gomes (4m)
Patrick Van Aanholt (4.5m)
Aaron Cresswell (5.5m)
Hector Bellerin (5.5m)
Andros Townsend (5.5m)
Dimitri Payet (7.5m)
Mesut Ozil (9.5m)
Alexis Sanchez (11m)
Jermaine Defoe (5m)
Andy Carroll (6m)
Harry Kane (9.5m)

KEY PICKS

Heurelho Gomes – The Watford number one will be looking to consolidate his spot at the top of the keeper standings at home to relegated Villa this weekend. Gomez has recorded eight of his 11 clean sheets at Vicarage Road and faces an out-of-sorts attack that have netted once in six on the road.

Patrick van Aanholt – Sunderland go in search of a fourth clean sheet in five this weekend as they travel to a Stoke side that have struggled for goals in recent matches. Van Aanholt has also picked up five bonus points over his last two run-outs, supplementing the attacking forays that have delivered five strikes so far this campaign.

Alexis Sanchez – The Chilean blanked for the first time in eight league appearances in last week’s goalless draw at the Stadium of Light. A home tie with Norwich should set Sanchez back on track for a strong finish, though – he’s the first name on my team sheet after averaging nine points per match over the previous seven ties.

Andy Carroll – Despite being named in the West Ham XI in just two of his last six outings, the big target man has produced an impressive 22 attempts on goal, with 19 efforts inside the box more than any other player. Carroll has bagged six goals over that period and his aerial threat for the trip to West Brom offers a good chance for further points.

LAST WEEK

A positive week with wins in the Grand Weekend and Double-Up games brought in £17, though I was left ruing the decision to captain Harry Kane in the former.

Payetandmash made the top spot in the Grand Weekend contest. Captaining Shane Long bought in 24 points, while Leicester assets Leonardo Ulloa (13 points) and Riyad Mahrez (nine points) raised his total to 74 and helped net over £250 in winnings.

THIS WEEK’S GAME PICKS

As always the best place to start if you’re new to FantasyBet are the freerolls – there is a £50 pot available for this Gameweek in both the standard format and £20 in the Flash Freeroll.

The Grand Weekend is £11 to enter for a chance to win part of the £1000 guaranteed prize money.

In the run-up to the Grand Finale in Gameweek 38, which has a £5,000 pot on offer, it’s possible to enter a qualifier this week for a £3.30 stake to win one of three entry tickets usually worth £33.

THIS WEEK’S STAKE

I’m entering the Grand Weekend, the Grand Finale Qualifier, the freerolls, the Double-up contest and entering a team into the FFScout Picks League for a total outlay of £17.70.

In addition, I’ll be going up against Balders, the Community champion in this week’s Scout Picks. He will be taking me on in a specially set up head to head game for a chance to win free entry into a £500 Guaranteed ‘Big Weekly’ game worth £22.

Also the eligible Community Champion who beats the Scout Picks by the highest margin every month will win a free entry into the £600 guaranteed ‘Boss’ game worth £55.

FFSCOUT PICKS LEAGUE

Galdgeholt topped the FFScout league with 77 points in Gameweek 35. Captaining Sergio Aguero delivered a respectable 12 points, whilst the inclusion of Kelechi Iheanacho (16 points) up front and Alberto Moreno (10 points) in defence helped clinch first place.

Once again, FantasyBet have provided a £100 pot for the FFScout Picks League – with a £1.10 stake for entry, it is now possible to enter two teams into this contest. I will enter our Scout Picks as closely as possible, given a 15-man squad is required with the 100m budget and a captain also needs to be selected.

Feel free to go up against them this week and pick your own squad on FantasyBet.

It's come down to a pretty straight choice for me this week. Any views would be appreciated.

    Alli & Coutinho > Townsend & Hazard
    Alli & KDB > Payet & Hazard

Both leave me with a rotation doubt and cost a hit, and this is without tackling the Sakho issue, but I'm in a pretty good OR and ML position currently (despite a horrific GW35) so I'm loath to take too many hits/risks.

    Advice appreciated!

    Robles / Darlow
    Bellerin / Gabriel / PvA / Janmaat / Sakho
    Payet / Coutinho / Sanchez / Milner / Townsend
    Kun / Kane / Carroll

    A) Sakho > Simpson

    B) Coutinho > Willian (or other/better midfielder), AOA chip

    Thinking Sakho to Reid? Thoughts?

    Robles / Darlow

    Sakho / Delaney / Simpson / Gabriel / Monreal

    Sanchez / Payet / Townsend / Alli / Mahrez

    Aguero / Kane / Martial.

depends what else you want, almost all the Algarve resorts have quality beaches, a lot of the hotels have private ones. All comes down to nightlife, food or other activities you fancy doing.

alvor is great for seafood, vilamoura has a couple of Michelin restaurants nearby I think, one is called willies. It may be vale de lobo. Lagos has several wineries around it that do wine tasting. though I would think you wouldn't be far away from them in most areas.
the lagos/ alvor area isn't far away from silves, which is a lovely medieval town about 20 miles inland, great place for sightseeing and at certain times they do a big festival. Also has some quality restaurants .
not really sure on the hiking in this area
not long back from cascais near Lisbon and the whole area is set up for walkers/joggers, cyclists. Nice hills around sintra for hiking and some culture.

would say the best beaches are vilamoura in terms of size and facilities nearby, though there are loads of small secluded beaches across the Algarve. Cant say I have ever found a bad one, worst case is you have to walk down a small cliff or slope to get to it. That's if you don't count the time this old guy was playing with himself in front of my wife

I've heard the islands around Croatia are lovely.

Portugal is nice weather and cheap, good value but not the highest quality.

Barcelona is beautiful with good beaches but maybe not a honeymoon destination.

My parents love Capri in Italy..

      Just food for thought!

Capri is wonderful but the beaches are almost non-existent.

For a honeymoon with a difference I would strongly recommend a French Riviera yacht. You then get a variety of beaches and some great little islands that are very difficult to get to (but not for you) and so are off the beaten track for the tourist.

Could i do this for under £5,000 for a week?
I really like the idea of this, but I assume I need to hire crew and the like.
Could you give me some more details?

why restrict it to Europe if you have £5000 to spend
I did Mauritius for wedding/honeymoon and loved it, was less than that for two weeks from scotland

Time constraints. Don't want to lose a day or more each way when I have but a week.

      Keeping

    Robles, Darlow
    Bellerin, Smalling, Simpson, Sakho, Gabriel
    Sanchez, Coutinho, Lanzini, KDB, Milner
    Aguero, Kane, Rashford

    1FT, 2.0 in the bank

Thinking about doing Rashford, KDB and Coutinho to Carroll, Fabregas and Payet although would be a -8 hit and could easily do one of the transfers next week.

    Any suggestions?

Best replacement for Alli the rest of the season?
    Budget is 8.4

    A) Lanzini
    B) Fabregas
    C) Willian
    D) Townsend

I've purged my team of all Liverpool. Just have to accept that Stuminho's brace is offset against a possible non appearance.

You can take the captaincy off Deeney without even taking a hit.

a.) Start your best 11. If they don't all play, your subs come in.

    or

b.) bench good players for fear of them not playing, instead, start someone you would have never considered owning 1 month ago.

    or

c.) take hits to get rid of good players for worse players then start all your new players.

    🙂

Which would you rather have this week?

    PVA (sto)
    Cresswell (wba)
    Smalling (LEI)

    DDG
    Bellerin Moreno PVA
    Sanchez(C) Payet Firmino Lanzini
    Kun Kane Defoe

    Kaspar Smalling Gabriel Ali
    0FT 3.9M ITB

If my two Pool players are rested I likely won't field 11. Planning to get Cresswell next week so is it worth -4 to do it now?
