Transfer activity is set to increase markedly over the next week as the community tackles the latest suspensions and injuries ahead of double Gameweek 37. Our community writers have been full of advice on securing the best options for the final three rounds of fixtures, while our hot topic posters have taken a detailed look at key assets from Chelsea and West Ham in particular. Over in our Members area there is more statistical advice for double Gameweek planners, including a look at the most bonus-friendly defenders and goal-hungry attackers. Finally, we see how a lacklustre Gameweek 35 for many managers affected our Community Tournament standings.

The Community Articles

For those looking for a new defender for double Gameweek 37, Balders’ article on the most likely to secure bonus points should prove vital reading.

Sticking with double fixture planning, Lateriser12 relaunched our Rate My Wildcard Team Surgery article series this week to help those still with this handy Fantasy Premier League chip to play ahead of Gameweek 37.

Looking ahead to Gameweek 36 Bolivian Seaman dropped by with his regular update from the fans’ forums.

Elsewhere, Kavali delivered his latest report on the rise and fall of the Fantasy veterans he is tracking over the last two Gameweeks.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

Dele Alli’s three-match ban for violent conduct has his owners scrambling for a new midfielder. In our discussion on the best Alli replacement, Lateriser12 recommends West Ham’s attack-minded and budget friendly Manuel Lanzini, while Athletico Timbo has Everton’s Gerard Deulofeu in his sights.

Chelsea midfielders are a little more pricey, but for those with plenty in the bank or happy to take hits, the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Willian are attracting interest. As our discussion earlier in the week on their recent upturn in form shows there are plenty of Fantasy managers  looking to secure their services in time for the London side’s double Gameweek 37. This week’s Rough with the Smooth round up of your latest scores also showed how early investment in Chelsea players has already started paying dividends.

For Acquafresca, Watford’s Troy Deeney and Sunderland’s Jermain Defoe look among the best striker options for the forthcoming double Gameweek. Elsewhere, TM245 served up some more names to consider in his look back on the best players around the previous double Gameweek.

While early investment in double Gameweek players could prove fruitful, patience may be the best policy. Our discussion on double Gameweek planning considered whether waiting a week may offer Gameweek 37 planners vital, extra information to steal a march on their more trigger-happy rivals. In contrast, there are plenty of others who are prepared to take hits this week as they stock up early on players with an extra fixture.

The Members Tables

Sunderland attackers took centre stage in Kushal21’s latest table, while coopermacdonnell77 has delved into the attacking data to assess the best captaincy options for the season run in.

To supplement Balders’ community article on defender bonus potential, I’ve created this table, which looks in detail at the players doing well in the key criteria needed to secure these extra points.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

In addition, with blanks and double Gameweeks now here it is wise to sort by matches rather than Gameweeks to give a fairer gauge of form,

The Community Tournaments

In the FFScout moderators and contributors league Andy has regained the lead and opened up a 35-point gap over second-placed Evs.

Ralf Buckenmaier still tops Red Lightning’s Top 10k Any Season, however the number of teams in the overall top 1,000 has dropped from 16 to 13 following a difficult Gameweek 35.

Meanwhile, In Red Lightning’s January to May League Brad Craig is the new leader.

Those taking part in the Going Out With a Bang league, set up by Kings of Lyon to assess how the chips are being used for the season run-in, scored just 43 points on average, underlining what a tough week it was for many. With a score of 61 points, Enter Shaqiri takes the lead, closely followed by Baines on Toast in second and Eden Hazardous, who moves up to third.

The Long and Winding Road main league also has a new leader, with Jim Coft opening up a nine-point gap at the summit.

In TorresMagic‘s Last Man Standing competition, Insane In De Bruyne hit the top score in Gameweek 35 with 58. There are now 14 teams left after 15 were eliminated when the safety score was set at 36.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

    Which seems better?

    A) Sakho and Aili ---> PVA and Lanzini

    B) Aili and Mitrovic ---> Lanzini and Carroll/Defoe

I quite like B. Not keen on having a forward slot occupied by someone who likely won't play whereas you can most likely cover Sakho's absence

Kind of depends on your other players but in isolation I quite like B) more, with Defoe.

Need an opinion guys. No FT left

    Current starting 11 of:

    DDG
    Bellerin Creswell PVA
    Sanchez Coutinho Lennon Milner
    Aguero Martial

    Bench: Darlow, Mitrovic, Fosu

    Do I:
    A: Mitro->Deeney (Villa+double)
    B: Wait a week and Sanchez+Mitro-->Payet+ Lukaku (can't afford Mitro->Luk directly)
    C: Jagielka->6 mill defender
    D: Other

No idea. Willian is playing the best defense in the league though

Is it really worth keeping him at this stage ?

There are much cheaper options with potentially easier fixtures.

I never sell aguero unless he's injured, but I don't see any explosions coming other than the swans game, sell the kun?

I don't think I'd take him out now unless you're on a WC. Form is phenomenal.

I will just say that if there were a leaked Liverpool team with Sturridge starting I would swap Aguero to Sturridge in a heartbeat. I will not lose him for doubtful prospects like Carroll and Defoe, but I would so much rather have Studge than Kun this GW.

    Buy Cresswell or PVA?
    Start him ahead of Rojo/Simpson?

Tough one. I'd go for PVA for the price.

If price is no obstacle, then Cresswell by a hair. I'd start Rojo regardless.

    On my WC:

    A) Firmino & Barkley
    B) Milner & Fabregas

      B. Any option with Barkley is the wrong one

B is boring but probably the right move.

Pellegrini is right to complain. Why are City playing on Sunday only two days before their 2nd leg vs Real? It's as if the Premier League tries to make it difficult for English clubs in Europe

Whittling down the options now... If I could get some final advice that would be great!!!

    A: Lanzini
    B: Willian

    I have payet...

Lanzini. And use the extra cash elsewhere.

Irrespective of price, I'd pick Lanzini over Willian this gameweek.

Lanzini, only because Hiddink is playing around with his lineup at the moment. Willian could be a great prospect but there is no guarantee that he will start. There is no guarantee on Lanzini either, but with the cup ties over he is more likely to start in my opinion (and has better fixtures this week and next).

    Darlow
    Bellerin Gabriel Delaney
    Sanchez Payet Coutinho Mahrez
    Aguero Kane Defoe
    Subs: Robles Simpson Sakho Alli
    1 FT, 2.1 ITB

    Narrowed it down to either:
    A. Sakho to PVA or
    B. Coutinho, Alli to Hazard, Lanzini (first hit of the year)

Probably going to play safe with A, then reassess Hazard next week.
    Thoughts?

In the big picture I do not, because I want Tottenham to stay in it, at least for a bit. Also, I have both DDG and Mahrez, so I am torn.

    KDB to Hazard for -4?

I wouldn't do it if it were for this gameweek alone. How's your DGW coverage for GW37?

If it's not great, then you may as well take the hit now to bring in Hazard.

it's not that great, will take a few more hits and need to spread them out because of my H2Hs. thanks 🙂

    On my WC:

    DDG
    Smalling, Cresswell, Azpilicueta, Stones, PVA
    Sanchez, Firmino, Barkley, Payet, Lanzini
    Sturridge, Lukaku, Rashford

    0.0 ITB

Bench boost in DGW37, with Hazard in for Sanchez.

Good to go? Or replace Firmino & Barkley with Milner & Fabregas?

Since you're already buying Hazard next week maybe Firmino & Barkley is better

Deeney over Ighalo for me depending on form. Keep changing my mind between Deeney and Defoe.

Has anyone planned their weeks so badly that they've actually got 5 great defenders this week?
Question... Would you play your best 3 defenders regardless of fixtures, or try to be clever?

Bellerin - Alderweireld - Fuchs (Monreal | PvA)

It's called the Bellerin Principal and comes from Everton V Bellerin 2016 🙂

That's what I was thinking, then I thought of Everton v Bellerin and imagined Arsenal 1-1 Norwich and Chelsea 0-2 Spurs, Toby monster.

Haha. Would be amazing, but unlikely. Picking Alderweireld spreads your risk, but I'd still double up on the Gunners.
