Transfer activity is set to increase markedly over the next week as the community tackles the latest suspensions and injuries ahead of double Gameweek 37. Our community writers have been full of advice on securing the best options for the final three rounds of fixtures, while our hot topic posters have taken a detailed look at key assets from Chelsea and West Ham in particular. Over in our Members area there is more statistical advice for double Gameweek planners, including a look at the most bonus-friendly defenders and goal-hungry attackers. Finally, we see how a lacklustre Gameweek 35 for many managers affected our Community Tournament standings.

The Community Articles

For those looking for a new defender for double Gameweek 37, Balders’ article on the most likely to secure bonus points should prove vital reading.

Sticking with double fixture planning, Lateriser12 relaunched our Rate My Wildcard Team Surgery article series this week to help those still with this handy Fantasy Premier League chip to play ahead of Gameweek 37.

Looking ahead to Gameweek 36 Bolivian Seaman dropped by with his regular update from the fans’ forums.

Elsewhere, Kavali delivered his latest report on the rise and fall of the Fantasy veterans he is tracking over the last two Gameweeks.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

Dele Alli’s three-match ban for violent conduct has his owners scrambling for a new midfielder. In our discussion on the best Alli replacement, Lateriser12 recommends West Ham’s attack-minded and budget friendly Manuel Lanzini, while Athletico Timbo has Everton’s Gerard Deulofeu in his sights.

Chelsea midfielders are a little more pricey, but for those with plenty in the bank or happy to take hits, the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Willian are attracting interest. As our discussion earlier in the week on their recent upturn in form shows there are plenty of Fantasy managers  looking to secure their services in time for the London side’s double Gameweek 37. This week’s Rough with the Smooth round up of your latest scores also showed how early investment in Chelsea players has already started paying dividends.

For Acquafresca, Watford’s Troy Deeney and Sunderland’s Jermain Defoe look among the best striker options for the forthcoming double Gameweek. Elsewhere, TM245 served up some more names to consider in his look back on the best players around the previous double Gameweek.

While early investment in double Gameweek players could prove fruitful, patience may be the best policy. Our discussion on double Gameweek planning considered whether waiting a week may offer Gameweek 37 planners vital, extra information to steal a march on their more trigger-happy rivals. In contrast, there are plenty of others who are prepared to take hits this week as they stock up early on players with an extra fixture.

The Members Tables

Sunderland attackers took centre stage in Kushal21’s latest table, while coopermacdonnell77 has delved into the attacking data to assess the best captaincy options for the season run in.

To supplement Balders’ community article on defender bonus potential, I’ve created this table, which looks in detail at the players doing well in the key criteria needed to secure these extra points.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

In addition, with blanks and double Gameweeks now here it is wise to sort by matches rather than Gameweeks to give a fairer gauge of form,

The Community Tournaments

In the FFScout moderators and contributors league Andy has regained the lead and opened up a 35-point gap over second-placed Evs.

Ralf Buckenmaier still tops Red Lightning’s Top 10k Any Season, however the number of teams in the overall top 1,000 has dropped from 16 to 13 following a difficult Gameweek 35.

Meanwhile, In Red Lightning’s January to May League Brad Craig is the new leader.

Those taking part in the Going Out With a Bang league, set up by Kings of Lyon to assess how the chips are being used for the season run-in, scored just 43 points on average, underlining what a tough week it was for many. With a score of 61 points, Enter Shaqiri takes the lead, closely followed by Baines on Toast in second and Eden Hazardous, who moves up to third.

The Long and Winding Road main league also has a new leader, with Jim Coft opening up a nine-point gap at the summit.

In TorresMagic‘s Last Man Standing competition, Insane In De Bruyne hit the top score in Gameweek 35 with 58. There are now 14 teams left after 15 were eliminated when the safety score was set at 36.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

    Robles, Darlow
    Bellerin, Smalling, Simpson, Sakho, Gabriel
    Sanchez, Coutinho, Lanzini, KDB, Milner
    Aguero, Kane, Rashford

    1FT, 2.0 in the bank

    Any suggestions?

I'm maybe thinking about doing Rashford, KDB and Coutinho to Carroll, Fabregas and Payet although it would be a -8 hit and could easily do one of the transfers next week.

    Thanks in advance.

Don't get rid of Rashford right before a DGW. The KDB/Cout move is enough. Carroll is a nice move for the DGW, but get him in next week for Kun.

Obv a lot rides on their Europa progress. Just wondering whether I'd wanna play him next week hoping for 90-150mins, or bench/transfer him. Ideally I'd use my FT to bolster my defence

      1. Geordienufc1
        • 12 Years

        What's an extra 4 points... 😉

My rationale was that I think it's likely that Coutinho, Milner and Gabriel will all not play, in which case even with my -8 I still have 10. By bringing in Kirchoff for Sakho as well, that allowed me to go for Carroll over Defoe, which I wanted, and would mean that it was only at worst a -2 hit if the 3 I mentioned don't play as I expect them not to. And if one of them, say Milner, do play, then it means I can rely on Kirchoff rather than Delaney who's playing Newcastle.

It could all go horribly wrong if KDB starts and scores, Mitrovic comes off the bench and scores etc. but I'm at the point where I just have to throw my hands up in the air and admit that what will happen will happen, and if I've made my transfer decisions based on logic and all available evidence, then I can't be too disappointed in myself if it all goes up in smoke 🙂

I think there were just a lot of people that picked him up at various points in the season. A lot early on because he seemed to be one of the 4.0's who actually played, then they sold when he lost his place, pushing it down to like 3.9. He was still kept by some though who always had other pressing issues, like my ML rival who kept him all the way until GW33.

Not sure who would still have him now, except for the odd casual waking up from mid-season hibernation, but I can see why there'd be a couple of owners still, and also why they would definitely like to sell him.

        What's he at now? 3.7?

I think 3.7 is right. I must admit that I have him. I got him in on my GW32 WC because I needed every penny, and at the time he had just started, so I thought it might be worth it (although I would have got him in anyway, because I needed a 3.9 placekeeper). I have no regrets about my WC, and his price drop is irrelevant to me, but it just seems astonishing how far he is able to drop.

Ighalo rising after 11 straight blanks. It can only be a DGW 🙂

I would say that Townsend needs to become someone like Lanzini, Lingard, or Brady who all have an extra game. He doesn't even have as good a fixture this week as people seem to think.

Firmino looks unlikely to start. Played 90 on Thursday and they need him fresh for 2nd leg. Small chance he might start, but 0% he plays 90. Put Lanzini in ahead of him

Much appreciated everyone for the help making transfers. Now who do I start from this lot...

    Fab
    Payat
    Townsand
    Marez
    Sanchez (Will start)

    Thanks a lot!

Probably bench Fab for this one as your other 4 look so good, pity in a way, but nice bench cover.

    Gabriel owners,

Are you putting him in your XI with the logic that if he plays, he starts? Or not taking the risk at all and benching

Can your advice quickly on something TM?

£1.0m in the bank, do I stick or use a hit to replace Alli and put in XI over Gabriel/Delaney. Obv it's not worth it for this week, but I might want to make this transfer anyway before the DGW (as well as bolstering my defence...so using a hit) Thoughts? Ta

        Darlow
        Bellerin Morgan PVA Gabriel
        Sanchez(c) Payet Lanzini
        Kun Kane Carroll

Bench - (Robles) Delaney, Firmino, Alli

I probably wouldn't take a hit. Gab likely to be 0 and you have to hope the rest play.

I'm considering this myself. I had been of the opinion that I'd just play him and hope for the best, but that was before I brought in an extra defender in Kirchoff.

So I'm thinking it depends on who your replacement is. If your replacement is someone with a decent chance of a CS, then I'd just play the replacement. If your replacement is somebody speculative/dodgy, say a Palace defender against Newcastle, I'd play Gabriel and the worst that can happen is your dodgy player comes in.

    Correct keeper and defender combo?

    Gomes
    Cresswell/Koscielny/Smalling
    Sanchez(c)/Payet/Fabregas/Townsend
    Defoe/Carroll/Lukaku

    Bench: DDG/PVA/Moreno/Brady
