As we approached the new season, hopes were high that Dimitri Payet could prove irresistible for our five-man midfields in 2016/17.

Restricted to just 26 minutes over the first three Gameweeks due to injury, Payet has been sold by a massive 589,000+ so far – only Eden Hazard and Riyad Mahrez have been subject to more sales in the centre of the park.

Since returning to the West Ham first XI in Gameweek 4, though, Payet has been quick to rediscover his Fantasy form.

Impressively, the Frenchman has played a part in all five of his side’s goals over that period. Payet provided two assists against both Watford and West Brom before serving up a stunning solo effort at home to Middlesbrough last time out.

With 30 points accrued in his four starts, then, this latest article for members casts an eye over Payet’s recent displays, assessing them against last season’s numbers before checking out the stats over the last four Gameweeks relative to other midfielders.

    What to do...

    Foster/jak
Holebas McAuley Lowton Amat Smith choose 3 from 5
Sanchez Sterling Son Capoue Barry on bench
    Aguero Lukaku Costa

Looking to lose Lukaku and Barry for firmino and deemey/austin/benteke

Antonio to Snodgrass and upgrade one of the defenders or downgrade Lukaku to Deeney/Defoe or another to free up some funds

Cheers HY, that's what's tempting me the most. Either that or save. Rashford should start tho?

        1. AndyCook
          9 years, 10 months ago

Should start, could outscore Deeney this week but Deeney likely to score more points over next handful of games.

    2. AndyCook
      9 years, 10 months ago

I wouldn't be in a huge rush to get rid of Baines whilst he's playing (if he does) especially with Burnley to come. Souare you're not playing anyway. I'd save and then consider Bolasie downgrade to free funds along with one of the moves above next week when you have more info. All decent moves though.

Cheers Andy. Tempted with Rashford > Deeney. Makes sense or better to save?

        1. AndyCook
          9 years, 10 months ago

It's a decent move, I prefer Deeney to Rashford and I think given you'd still have 0.5 M in the bank you'd still have some wiggle room for a transfer next week - Arsenal or Spurs defender in potentially for Baines, Soaure to Smith etc. ot could swap Bolasie then if he's still not in favour

    WC team: Thoughts?

    Heaton, Pickford
    Bellerin, Rose, Smith, Holebas, Cameron
    Sanchez, Walcott, Son, Mane, Snodgrass
    Aguero, Deeney, Diomande

    (3-5-2) 0.6 ITB

Nothing to change there. I would personally go Benteke over Deeney. At least for this week. Or upgrade to Stuani who is playing more than Dio.

Strong either way though. Midfield is a dreamboat.

Diomande is gonna make you tear your hair out soon enough.. i'd suggest doing Bellerin + Mane + Diomande to Mustafi + Firmino + Austin.. not much of a downgrade to your rest of the team and you have an amazing option coming off the bench/starting incase of injury or if someone disappoints

That's a headache. Who on earth would you bench this week? Austin home to Burnley? No chance.

          • 16 Years
          9 years, 10 months ago

Snodgrass.. Bournemouth away is not gonna be easy. and then play Snoddy until Austin's fixtures improve. Can easily downgrade the one that doesnt look like performing later. i'm one of the few on here who loves having a good bench since it saves me a lot of transfers when players get injured etc but i understand that i'm in a minority and so this suggestion may seem weird to some 🙂

Its not that bad of an idea. But Snodgrass has managed returns against Arsenal, Burnley (away) and Leicester. Could see him doing well against Bou.

        • 11 Years

How so? I'm never going to play Diomande. This is a 3-5-2 team. Not a 3-4-3/3-5-2 rotation.

          • 16 Years
          9 years, 10 months ago

exactly.. i was suggesting switching to a fluid 3-5-2/3-4-3 formation at very little cost to your overall team strength. again that's a matter of personal preference though..

Though if you are comfortable with 3-5-2 then i'd suggest upgrade Deeney to Benteke. Deeney is a card away from walking the suspension tightrope so before you know it you might be living in a bit of Diomande of the bench tension. Benteke's fixtures are not that bad from an attacking perspective either

      Really like it

My WC team isn't that different (which hopefully means were both right)

      I'm currently on
      Karius/Pickford
      Kos/Morgan/Shawcross/Holebas/Amat
      Sanchez/Walcott/Son/Chadli/Snodgrass
      Aguero/Deeney/Benteke
      0.6 ITB

So basically I'm in for a bench nightmare but I'm with the posters who like a strong bench.

My only issue is I'd love Tottenham defender. I'd also like KDB but champage tastes and beet money lead to that.

Basically Bellerin is miles ahead, but what was interesting is that Mustafi has slightly better stats than Laurent and only has less BPS because of the goals.

Made good reading for Mustafi owners like me who couldn't afford Laurent.

Benteke vs Deeney vs Wilson !!
    Form : Tekkers/Deeney
    Stats : Tekkers
    Fixtures : Wilson

Tekkers next 4 fixtures are (WHU , lei , LIV , bur)
    Wilson ( HULL , TOT , midd, SUN )
Deeney ( midd, swa, HULL, liv)

If you can afford it Benteke hands down. He's playing in a better team, who hit sweet spots of form and is just a better player.

Wilson is obviously miles cheaper so allows more in the middle or defence.

If you look at just the next 4 weeks Palace have it just as good/bad as Bournemouth. WHU, lei are actually easy matches.

HUL, SUN are easy for Wilson but TOT is extremely difficult and mid is pretty hard as well.

Deeney edges it for fixtures, Tekkers is ahead on form and Wilson should be forgotten.

What about Defoe (stk, whu, ARS, bou, HULL)

Sunderland have only scored 6 goals in 7 matches yet Defoe is the 4th highest scoring forward on 38 points. He is against 2 of the worst defenses for conceding goals in the next 2 fixtures & he always does better in away games. To me he's the better option.

the crazy plan is to use 2 of Snoddy/Benteke/Austin over the next 5 weeks to dodge the tougher fixtures of Tekkers/Austin who i want long term and have a good bench allowing me to save transfers and have more patience etc. Forget the benching headache for a bit and let me know if anything needs changing 🙂

Any words on Sterling and Lukaku's injury? Aguero played today so I guess he is fine? However with the barca game looming would there be a chance that both Sterling and Aguero would be rested or at least substituted early?

    Should I consider Sterling--> Walcott/Son for a -4? Also own Sanchez.

Hi everyone. I'm really stuck on what to do for the weekend. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    Pickford.
    Walker. Fuchs. Holebas.
    Sanchez. Sterling. Firmino. Antonio.
    Kun. Lukaku. Deeney.

Subs: Jaku. Evans. Amat. Capoue. 0 ITB. 2FTs.

Was all set on Fuchs + Antonio -> Smith + Son...

But Fuchs has great fixtures after Chelsea and could be a BAP + assist king. Antonio still has decent stats (although WHam are awful).
With all the talk of Arsenal defence for their nice fun I'm thinking of..

    A) Fuchs + Antonio -> Snoddy + Bellerin
    B) Evans + Antonio -> Snoddy + Mustafi
    C) My original Fuchs + Antonio -> Son + Smith
    D) Other

    Thanks!

For ppl on WC.. here's a thought
    Van Dijk + Pieters
Pieters lets you dodge Van Dijks tough fixtures over the next 5(mci CHE LIV( with hull, SWA, BOU and you get to keep Van Dijk for BUR, hull and his great run of fixtures from GW 13 onwards. could be gold... especially since Van Dijk looks like he is bossing baps, Soton look good at the back and he is a big attacking threat

    1. PvA
      • 9 Years

For me, if I get a player at Van Dijk's price then I'd want to play him every single week. Rotation plans often get binned because of injuries, suspensions, losing places etc

There's a huge mental block on here regards to benching a defender priced above 5 million once in a while. it works out a treat sometimes.. especially in no hope fixtures like mci CHE LIV

Only problem is mci/LIV are kak defensively at the moment. I love Vvd and owned him last season. He scored a couple of goals and I recall him hitting post vs mci away last season as well. I would just play him week in week out.

Fan and owner, so might be wishful thinking. But, away to an injury-ridden Pool isn't the worst fixture IMO. He'll be up against an offensive Clyne if he's fit, or maybe Milner if Martial starts. Rashford seems to have less problems against the less physical sides, and he has a (short) history of putting on a show in the big games. The upside is so high for a relative small amount. This week I don't see Deeney or Austin or Benteke in such a better position that I would hit him out.

Wouldn't have to get him, but wouldn't lose him for a hit is my conclusion.
