Injuries took centre stage among out hot topic posters this week as the community were tested by a wave of international injuries.

Meanwhile, our community writers offer their top tips for surviving the weekend’s post international Gameweek and, in particular, where to place the armband.

Players to avoid come under the gaze of our Members table creators and finally we find out the Fantasy managers who will be battling through the mounting knocks and niggles to take each other on in our community competitions.

The Community Articles

With a 100 per cent success rate in using bookies odds, form and fixtures to predict the Gameweek’s best captain, it is no wonder that YMA won our latest best community writer of the month prize. Dare you ignore his advice on Gameweek 12’s best armband contender?

TM245 is another focused on captaincy issues and this week dropped by deliver his latest research on the best predictors of success, which includes our Members’ Rate My Team tool.

Those playing Sky Sports are blessed with multiple captaincy options as they are able to select a different player each of the Gameweek. Disable has taken a look at some of the best options, and, in particular, the game’s bonus and man of the match award magnets, as well as analysing the transfer habits of the top managers.

Elsewhere, Bolivian Seaman has been visiting the supporter forums for his regular look at what  the fans are saying about the forthcoming fixtures.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

The community found itself flagging in more ways than one during the long international break. While the lack of Premier League action was a chief concern, so too was the amount of injuries being dished out among players on international duty.

Eden Hazard’s knock during Belgium’s victory over Estonia this week prompted Pochecinno to question whether he’d been labeled a doubt prematurely.

Mark chipped in by lending his views on the Chelsea schemer’s injury and shedding some light on how such news is deciphered here on the site.

Adam Lallana was another to succumb to injury having been substituted early on in England’s friendly with Spain with a recurrence of a groin injury. With more than one in ten FPL managers owning the Liverpool midfielder, Individual sparked a timely discussion on the best candidates to replace him, with Lallana perhaps unlikely to figure at former club Southampton this weekend.

With so many injuries circling, many fear they may not be able to field a full XI in Gameweek 12, according to our hot topic on how to survive a gruelling international break.

Thankfully, there is still a degree of certainty when it comes to penalty awards this season, with Bun Rab carrying out some further research into where the Premier League’s spot kick happy referees will be deployed over the weekend.

There is also security in opting for a premium heavy-hitter in attack, particularly Liverpool’s pair of midfield maestros – Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino. Our look at the Hall of Fame leaders template team found that investment in the duo had been key to their success.

This prompted us to ask which players among this elite group’s template team you own and how you think their template will change over the coming Gameweeks.

Numb believes that, realistically, most Fantasy managers will only be able to afford five of the many excellent expensive options available. After asking us on the Scoutcast which quintet we prefer, we opened up the discussion to find your favoured heavyweight options.

Finally, with the Premier League break nearing its conclusion Neenyg took some time to ask how fans of top flight teams cope with managing a Fantasy lineup without showing allegiance to their supported club. We duly discovered that this was not a problem for Mark, either now and, in all likelihood, the near future.

The Members Tables

As an antidote to my goals imminent table, Noobtastic has created an implosion imminent table to showcase recent goalscorers who are set to let their owners down in spectacular style.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Tournaments

This weekend marks the start of the community’s newest team contest, The Fantasy Chili Bowl.

On behalf of the organising committee, Jarvish delivered an update on the fixtures and lineups of the teams taking part.

Another keenly contested tournament is the FFS UEFA Champions League, where the group stages include some nailbiting ties, according to organiser Jaffalicious’ latest dispatch.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spreadsheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

    Heaton (Pickford)
    McAuley, Pieters, Smith* (Holebas* Amat*)
    Haz, Mane, Firm, Ozil (Allen)
    Kun, Lukaku, Austin

0.1, No FT or AOA. Any hits to sort that def out?

Smith and Ozil to Alonso and Eriksen is tempting.

I would have said Smith to Friend but he's a doubt. Not any other Defenders in that price range that look value to me atm. Id say Brunt if you didnt have McAuley and even Janmaat with no Holebas. But clearly something needs to be done otherwise you are going in with 10 men. Sorry I cant be of any help ha

Anyone considering Jenkinson as a short term solution? Or is he not secured the starts during Bellerin's abscence?

I have 2 FT and i'm considering Bellerin to Jenkinson which allows me to change Antonio to Hazard. I won't lose anything on Bellerin.

I'm chasing by 52 pts in my ML need to starting punting soon choose one of the following options for a -4 hit:

    A) Pickford > Valdes
    B) Stanislas > Bolasie
    C) Martina > McAuley

C if you don't have 3 defenders already playing, if not I wouldn't take a hit. 52 pts is 3 good GWs

52 points is nothing this early in the season. Punting would be a mistake and you fall further behind. Hits are fine. All you need to do is bring in the right players who are going to score the most points in the next 1-5 GW's. Very simple this game 😉

Coutinho is the better long term prospect and cheaper than Mane. The points you 'might' lose this week will probably be gained back in the next few by having Coutinho in your side. Mane over Coutinho for 1 week of uncertainty makes no sense to me.

    http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/swanseacity/forum/182742/page:4/#85

Swansea's xi has been leaked to their forum for the past month and there are a few itk's there. It's not the same guy who has posted the xi the last couple of weeks, but looks like Siggy might be starting as a striker and one guy saying 8 changes with Amat also possibly coming back in. Of course nothing official right now, just rumours. But if that is true Bradley is just mad.

It's all well and good saying get him next week but if you are getting him would this week not be the week to get him fixture-wise?Btw I'm in the same boat as you undecided

90 minutes of Capoue, or 10 minutes of Coutinho when he comes on after we bottle a 2-0 lead?

I'm not hopeful, Lallana is the biggest miss. Hopefully Mane can reproduce his performance in the fixture last season

Think Gini will take Lallana's place and has the high pressing game that Klopp likes he was good until he got injured 2 weeks before IB have no doubt he can't do what Lallana does, yeah think we need Mane to be on his best game again tomorrow so important for us.

CS odds say Pickford - Scout picks say Grant. A lot of people on this site in the exact same dilemma, me including, and currently I'm trusting Grant with Stoke over Sunderlands defence even though they're up against Hull

Siggy set to drop to 7.1 tonight

With Swansea's fixtures from gw15 onwards he could be absolute gold dust.

Sanchez->Haz, Holebas->Alonso? Unlikely Coutinho will start this week but doesn't seem worth ditching him if he's back for next

Keep Walcott or sell with my 1 remaining free transfer? Have 8.2 to spend and rest of midfield is: Sanchez, Coutinho, Firmino and de Roon.

Not much jumping out at me tbh. I'd definitely keep him if I was 100% sure he'd start against United and to have 2 free transfers next gameweek again would be handy.

I think he's great value if you bought at £7.5m. There's Siggy and Pedro around the same price, but you need to spend at least 1m more to get a Liverpool mid.

Because they think other picks offer better value I guess, even with those fixtures.

Price, I guess. He needs to be scoring a brace every 3 or 4 weeks to justify the cost.

I'm keeping for now as I've been able to adjust my squad to get both Hazard and Sanchez, but 11m is a lot when I don't have Firmino/Mane. There's also the impact of Giroud to consider (I actually would prefer Giroud to lead the line with Sanchez moving wide left again - more chances of assists at least).

Bit different, but anything you'd change? (I think Coutinho will be benched to begin with)

      Pickford
      Lovren - Koscielny - Pieters
      Walcott - Gundogan - Sanchez - Hazard
      Lukaku - Aguero - Anichebe

      Jaku - Coutinho - Holebas - Amat
