It’s time for our usual rummage around the Gameweek data this afternoon, in our first members’ article of the week.

We assess Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez’ home and away displays after both bagged a brace last time out, while a pair of Southampton assets also come under analysis. We also check in on Swansea’ City’s playmaker and a cut-price Liverpool alternative to Philippe Coutinho, with the Brazilian now set for over a month on the sidelines.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Who wins longterm?

    1) Sanchez + Austin
    Or
    2) Walcott + Kane

I have 1 and agreed 2 has better fixtures cuz of Kane but isnt 1 more in form?

      1. Because Kane wins over Austin but just not as much as Sanchez over Walcott.

    A) Sanchez to Walcott
    B) Aguero to Kane

        Hazard Sanchez Firmino Allen Capoue

        Austin Lukaku Aguero

Want one of these so I can find Lukaku to Costa and get Alonso in defense with enough to upgrade Allen eventually.

Keep aguero imo. its a tough one because you real want to behaving both kun and alexis but if i had to choose i would go Kun. Wally is great arsenal replacemnet and cheaper than the likes of Kdb,

Considering more of a long term move. Not sure Aguero is the standout captain option any week for another 5-6 barring maybe Watford (but mid fixture congestion) and hence the downgrade thought.

        1. Licious Lizard
          • 13 Years

Of course it is a reasonable argument, personally I wouldn't take out Aguero... Even for Kane.

Walcott is a rotation risk and his stats have declined quite a bit..

On the whole, if Sanchez to wally allowed me Lukaku to Costa/Kane, Fuchs to Alonso and then maybe Allen to Moses/Fer. How does it sounds then?

Will he be playing striker (if fit) though? Those fixtures aren't that good long term and Pool will suffer from Coutinho loss/potential change in system in my opinion.

        2. Worzel Gummidge
          9 years, 8 months ago

I have them all apart from Alonso who will be coming in soon but have plumped on Anichebe as 3rd striker to help fund it. I think SOU will struggle to score goals and every other striker below Austin is pretty rank so might as well go with cheapest scoring option with decent fixtures IMO. If Defoe is a decent option then I think Anichebe is.

I brought in Ibra for last week and was happy with his performance.
Went Cout > Siggy earlier and am strongly considering a (-4) for Ibra > Kane (C), and flip-flopping the 2.

With the outrageous amount of FFS people captaining Kane, it's seems impossible to avoid him.

    Thoughts?

It's very easy to get the impression that players have a much higher ownership on here than is the reality. He only has 8% overall and many of those will be dead teams. That said I would do it, especially as you are captaining him

Just take Aguero in isolation, you say you'll never know when he'll be benched, isn't that reason to keep him?

If you don't know when he'll be benched why would you gamble against it and risk missing out on him in his current form?

Do you think other players are not at risk from a random rest over Christmas? Take Costa and his historically weak hamstrings, it's OK when he's playing once a week, different consideration for his manager when he's looking at 3 games over a Christmas week.

Second guessing is a dangerous thing.

    Heaton - Jaku

    Stones - Holebas - Friend* - Pieters - Amat

Sanchez - Hazard - Firmino - Capoue - De Roon

    Aguero - Costa - Austin

    *100% injured.
Heaton, Holebas and Firmino are all doubts, but should make it hopefully.

Hmmm thanks for the ideas. I'm slightly cautious of the cheap 4th mid route as I've been burned by it quite a bit this season. In fact that is probably the position which has caused more frustration than any other in my team until now.

Out of the players you mentioned, Fer and Zaha certainly interest me though. Are they both nailed?

Can understand why. I haven't been able to figure it out yet either 😉

Zaha is definitely nailed. I think Fer is pretty nailed too, but I am not 100% sure, as I haven't really figured out Bradley yet.
Fer's fixtures are very good over the busy schedule though.

I dropped Austin to Anichebe. Not for everyone but there are no other decent options up to Austin and even then I have doubts about Austin/SOU.

            9 years, 8 months ago

or if you want to keep Austin the above suggestion is good. Didn't see you had 0.6 ITB. Still dont like the above options though but they are a step up.

Yeh, they interest me but don't inspire too much excitement. It's just a bit complicated because I'm sure I'm going to want siggy as a fourth mid in the near future which would be funded by a haz/Alexis downgrade.

If I buy e.g fer, and then replace him with siggy a week or so later then that will in effect be a wasted transfer. I just can't bring myself to get get siggy yet, after Alexis on Sunday, and hazards ridiculous upcoming fixtures.

Hence having to put up with nauseating Capoue.

I agree with Worzel, you need to to change Capoue to a decent 4th.
Other than that perhaps Stones -> Cedric as a long term transfer?

Yes that looks like a good one. You think I should get rid of stones rather than friend?

Stones is going to drop in price before this GW, whereas friend probably won't. However, stones will play most likely, whereas friend definitely won't.

I wouldn't do that. I would prefer Defoe personally. Sunderland seem to be doing well goal wise and forming a good attacking team IMO. Think they realise they need to score goals as will rarely keep a CS. I just have doubts about Austin/SOU attack. Austin will be rotated as well but Defoe wont over Xmas period. Sunderland fixtures are rather good. I went with the cheap Defoe to get team I want but point stands.

    A) Ibra > Kane (C)

GW 15 - Let's say I do Kun to Costa. What would you do with free funds ?

    Grant/Pickford
    Walker/Alonso/McAuley/Holebas/Amat
    Wally/Hazard/Firm/Zaha/Siggy
    Austin/Kun/Kane(c)

For now imo I could only see Holebas to Cedric

I'd rather do Kane to Costa.

I like Spurs defensively but think their outfield assets are overpriced. As bad as he's been some weeks I'd also still be wary of selling Kun.

Just me, maybe, but right now I'd rather have Kun and Costa rather than Costa and Kane.

Lots of people are saying that on here.

Not convinced he'll outscore Aguero in that spell. Spurs really haven't looked like high scorers, they were doggy doo in Champions League and I can see a team like Swansea frustrating them too.

I love their defenders, but not sold on their outfield players so far this season and certainly not over City, Chelsea or Liverpool mids and strikers.

Kane is good but the difference for me is that if Aguero has a bad game he can still bag a brace. Kane has a bad game its 2 points and thats your lot.

Rotowire has a Stoke line up without Allen. I can't see Hughes benching Allen...

Yea not 100% accurate normally will get updated during the week

i normally use it for daily fantasy when all the lineups are confirmed 1 hour prior to kick off

Just saw a video of a bodybuilder punching the judge because he didn't win.

I just can't take a bloke in children's pants smothered in Marmite seriously, though.

Just realised the City game is the early kick off again. At least that means the Aguero misery is known by 2:30

Any suggestions to improve this bunch?

    Grant/pickford
    Kosc Cedric Evans holebas amat
    Firmino hazard Sanchez Allen kightly
    Kane kun Austin

Wouldn't mind siggy in in the next few weeks but that means possible kosc -> 4.4
    Allen -> siggy

    Thoughts?

Would be careful downgrading your defence that much, especially considering your keepers
