The Nick Pope vs Tom Heaton debate took an unexpected turn on Thursday as both goalkeepers now have injuries to deal with.

Elsewhere, we learned more about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s role in Unai Emery’s new-look Arsenal side and Marko Arnautovic continued his impressive pre-season form.

In another Scout Notes piece we analyse how the latest goals, assists and line-ups should affect our Gameweek 1 plans for Fantasy Premier League.

ARSENAL 1-1 ATLETICO MADRID

  • Goals: Emile Smith-Rowe
  • Assists: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.0m)

New Arsenal manager Unai Emery appears to be preparing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.0m) for a role on the left flank of his attacking front-three this season. The Gabonese striker has reportedly been taking up this position in training and was used there in the Gunners first pre-season match in Singapore against Atletico Madrid. Aubameyang still threatened from his wider position as it made him harder to mark, and it must be remembered he scored registered three goals and two assists in three appearances as a left forward last season. On Thursday night, he played the key pass for Emile Smith-Rowe’s spectacular second-half equaliser, laying the ball off to him having won it back in midfield.

It was Alexandre Lacazette (£9.5m) who led the line, just as he has done in training too, lending some credence to the argument for selecting him over Aubameyang, considering the £1.5m saving on offer for Fantasy managers. The Frenchman already had three pre-season goals in as many matches before this Atletico meeting and was unlucky not to add to his tally as three good chances were brilliantly saved by Jan Oblak.

Aaron Ramsey (£7.5m) looked like he will be at the heart of Arsenal’s attacking play in 2018/19, setting up two of Lacazette’s chances. But the stand-out star was 17-year-old Smith-Rowe, who was composed on the ball, showed great skill in midfield, and craftily took the ball around two defenders before launching his shot from distance into the top corner.

Emery’s plans for the Arsenal defence are still hard to get an accurate fix on. This match was just the second the Gunners have played publicly so far this summer, with two others played behind closed doors. The new manager went for a back-four in the first hour which featured Sead Kolasinac (£5.0m) and Hector Bellerin (£6.0m) on either side of Rob Holding (£4.5m) and Shkodran Mustafi (£5.5m). After a raft of changes, Emery switched to a back-three containing Calum Chambers (£4.5m), Sokratis Papastathopoulous (£5.5m) and Konstantinos Mavropanos (£5.0m) with Jordi Osei-Tutu and Kolasinac as the wing-backs, the latter the only player to get a full 90 minutes in Singapore. Sokratis and Chambers have been spotted paired together in training which could suggest Emery is looking to use them together, but when looking for the best Arsenal defender to invest in, we need more information first, so keep an eye on subsequent Scout Notes articles.

Of note was the fact that Bernd Leno (£5.0m) started ahead of Petr Cech (£5.0m), although the latter did get game-time in the second-half. Potential 2018/19 bargain Henrikh Mkhitaryan (£7.0m), featured only as a substitute and looked good when on the ball but Arsenal struggled to get it to him enough. Meanwhile, Mesut Ozil (£8.5m) was present at the match having returned to training on Monday but he was not involved in the action himself.

ARSENAL XI (4-3-3): Leno (Cech); Kolasinac, Holding (Sokratis 65’), Mustafi (Chambers 65’), Bellerin (Osei-Tutu 65’); Guendouzi (Willock 74’), Ramsey (Mavropanos 65’), Smith-Rowe (Maitland-Niles 65’); Aubameyang (Perez 65’), Lacazette (Nketiah 65’), Nelson (Mkhitaryan 65’).

ABERDEEN 1-1 BURNLEY

  • Goals: Sam Vokes (£5.5m)
  • Assists: Chris Wood (£6.5m)

The Burnley goalkeeper situation took an unexpected turn during Thursday night’s 1-1 draw with Aberdeen. There has been much debate over whether Nick Pope (£5.0m) or Tom Heaton (£5.0m) would start the season in net for the Clarets, considering the former’s involvement in the World Cup, but it is now a possibility that neither of them feature in Gameweek 1.

Heaton was ruled out of the Europa League qualifier at Pittodrie with a calf strain, which meant Pope, who had returned to training earlier this week, was thrust straight back into the Burnley side. However, he was forced off with a shoulder injury in the 14th minute following a collision and was taken to hospital after being replaced by Anders Lindegaard (not yet in FPL). After the match manager Sean Dyche revealed that Pope’s knock could be a long-term one.

“We’ll find out more, he’s gone to hospital, at this stage it looks more serious than not serious. We’ll wait and see, Tom has a minor calf injury, and Anders did great. It’s not easy to walk on there in that sort of game, and he handled it nicely.

With some uncertainty in goal, the Burnley back-four may prove a more assured route for Fantasy managers looking to buy into their defence. As expected, Stephen Ward (£5.0m), James Tarkowski (£5.0m), Ben Mee (£5.0m) and Matt Lowton (£5.0m) lined up in Scotland, with little reason to believe they won’t do so at Southampton in Gameweek 1, barring injuries. Potential investors should still stay informed on the goalkeeper situation as the absence of both Pope and Heaton may make them less reliable. Thursday was Lindegaard’s first senior competitive appearance for any club since conceding eleven goals in two Championship matches for Preston in October 2016. Furthermore, Tarkowski also gave away a penalty against Aberdeen.

Ashley Barnes (£6.0m), Robbie Brady (£5.5m) and Steven Defour (£5.5m) all missed out on the match as they recover from various knocks. Chris Wood (£6.5m), on the other hand, allayed fears over his fitness as he started the match leading the line in a 4-3-3 formation. Brady’s absence, as predicted, allowed Aaron Lennon (£5.0m) to get a start on the right-flank, in a more advanced position than would normally be expected in the traditionally 4-4-2 system. Johann Berg Gudmundsson (£6.0m) also benefitted from the switch, deployed on the left flank of the front three. That said, the Clarets’ crucial equaliser in the second-half came after reverting back to 4-4-2, Wood finding substitute Sam Vokes (£5.5m), who lifted the ball over his marker, headed it down and blasted high into the net from close range.

BURNLEY XI (4-3-3): Pope (Lindegaard 14’); Ward, Mee, Tarkowski, Lowton; Westwood, Hendrick (Vokes 67’), Cork; Gudmundsson, Wood, Lennon.

BLACKBURN ROVERS 3-0 EVERTON

  • Goals: None
  • Assists: None

Richarlison (£6.5m) hit the ground running in his bid to justify a £40 million transfer fee with an energetic performance in Thursday night’s trip to Blackburn Rovers. The Brazilian could not affect the result, a worrying 3-0 win for the Championship side, but there are already encouraging signs for the 10.3 percent who have him in their Fantasy squads. The former Watford man was introduced as a left forward in the second-half but popped up in virtually every position in the front line on the night. It was also clear that his team-mates had been briefed to get the ball to him as often as possible. That level of attention from the rest of the team bodes well for Richarlison’s goal involvement potential in 2018/19. He had two chances to score at Ewood Park, a chip that went just wide and a header from a Baines cross that went just over the bar, also getting back to make tackles when needed.

The fact that Everton were 2-0 down by the time Richarlison entered the fray says more about the Toffees’ second-string players than their first-teamers. New manager Marco Silva had said earlier this summer that he wanted to have two players competing for every position, thankfully for Fantasy managers, there doesn’t seem to be much competition, especially in defence. Another poor performance from Ashley Williams (£4.5m) and Matthew Pennington in the first-half added further backing to Michael Keane (£5.0m) and Phil Jagielka (£4.5m) as the likely Gameweek 1 centre-back pairing. Leighton Baines (£5.5m) and Seamus Coleman (£5.5m) should easily have their starting berths nailed down and we’ll have to wait and see whether Jordan Pickford (£5.0m) can get back in time to replace Maarten Stekelenburg (£4.0m), who was at fault for one of Blackburn’s goals.

Further up the pitch, Mohamed Basic, Tom Davies (£5.5m), Sandro Ramirez (£5.5m) and Kevin Mirallas (£5.5m) struggled to supply Oumar Niasse (£5.5m) with much service, although Gylfi Sigurdsson (£7.5m) pressed well the opposition well. That was particularly impressive considering this was his first outing after returning from World Cup leave.

While several players can be discounted from Everton selection discussions following this match, there is still much up in the air. Theo Walcott (£6.5m), Yannick Bolasie (£6.0m), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.5m) and Beni Baningime (£4.5m) still haven’t featured in pre-season for various reason but are all expected to be involved in some form between now and Gameweek 1.

EVERTON XI (4-2-3-1): Stekelenburg; Robinson (Baines 45’), Williams (Jagielka 45’), Pennington (Keane 45’), Kenny (Coleman 45’); Besic (Schneiderlin 45’), Davies (Gueye 45’); Ramirez, Sigurdsson (Dowell 45’), Mirallas (Richarlison 45’); Niasse (Tosun 45’).

ASTON VILLA 1-3 WEST HAM

  • Goals: Michail Antonio (£7.0m), Marko Arnautovic (£7.0m), Robert Snodgrass
  • Assists: Artur Masuaku (£4.5m), Arnautovic

Michail Antonio (£7.0m) scored on his return from injury to add some complication on the flanks at West Ham. Manager Manuel Pellegrini splashed out big money to bring Andriy Yarmolenko (£7.0m) and Felipe Anderson (£7.0m) to the club over the summer which would suggest they are the more likely to start but Antonio has historically impressed when fit. So his presence back in the squad is something to be wary of when considering either one of Yarmolenko or Anderson, who made his first appearance of pre-season too. Antonio’s goal came from a typically powerful run down the right flank, which saw him lose the ball and win it back again before firing across the goalkeeper into the far corner.

That said, bearing in mind they are the same price, Marko Arnautovic (£7.0m) is looking increasingly like the best option at West Ham. He got his fourth goal in three matches at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium and provided the assist for Robert Snodgrass’ late strike. No other forward at his price point has shown anywhere near as much promise so far this summer, and his form may well trigger a rise from 25 percent ownership, in spite of tricky early fixtures for the Hammers.

FPL midfielder Artur Masuaku (£4.5m) was, once again, deployed at left-back but he did manage to register an assist after a marauding run and a square-ball to Arnautovic. Alongside him was new signing Fabian Balbuena (£4.5m) and Angelo Ogbonna (£4.5m) who could be the first-choice pairing this season after particularly impressing although Issa Diop (£4.5m) has been regularly involved in pre-season. Meanwhile, defender Declan Rice (£4.5m) was tested out in a midfield three.

After impressing in his previous two outings, Yarmolenko missed the match but he was simply rested by Pellegrini, there is not believed to be any injury concern over the Ukrainian. He is expected to be involved against Ipswich at Portman Road on Saturday.

WEST HAM XI (4-3-3): Adrian; Masuaku (Byram 87’), Ogbonna, Balbuena (Diop 45’), Zabaleta (Fredericks 80’); Wilshere (Cullen 66’), Noble, Rice (Obiang 45’); Anderson (Haksabanovic 45’), Arnautovic (Martinez 87’), Antonio (Snodgrass 45’).

STOKE CITY 0-0 WOLVES

  • Goals: None
  • Assists: None

Raul Jimenez (£5.5m) registered his second start of pre-season as Wolves drew 0-0 with Stoke. The Mexican is expected the lead the line this season with Diogo Jota (£6.5m) either side of him. The latter was withdrawn for tactical reasons in the 32nd minute although there is not believed to be any injury.

Ryan Giles was deployed on the left side of the midfield now that Barry Douglas (£5.0m) appears to be on his way to Leeds United while new left-back Jonny Castro remained on the bench. Matt Doherty (£4.5m) on the other flank, who scored and assisted four times last season, started again and looks to be the foremost Wolves defender to have given his attacking potential.

Further back, there is an outside chance that Ryan Bennett could add himself to the list of starting £4.0m defenders, although we will have to continue to track his performances during the summer. Conor Coady (four starts, 33 minutes) is the only player to have registered more pre-season time than Bennett in the back-three so far (four starts, 296 minutes). The pair are the only two players to have been involved in all five matches too. On two occasions now Bennett has been replaced by Romain Saiss (£4.5m) so it does remain to be seen whether or not the 28-year-old’s run in the team over the summer was as a result of the Moroccan’s late return from the World Cup or not. Further friendly matches should tell us more on the subject.

WOLVES XI (3-4-3): Ruddy (Patricio 45’); Hause, Coady (Batth 63’), Bennett (Saiss 45’); Giles (John 63’), Gibbs-White (Goncalves 45’), Neves (Watt 63’), Doherty (Buur 63’); Jota (Cavaleiro 32’ | Enobakhare 63’), Jimenez (Bonatini 45’), Costa (Ashley-Seal 63’).

Had a look at PSG's record in the league last season to get an of idea of the breakdown of where the goals came from, in response to the worries about Aubameyang being utilised on the left wing.

Obviously this isn't going to translate perfectly to Arsenal for various reasons, and Emery might alter his tactics significantly, but thought it would be interesting.

Neymar, played on the left wing:

    Minutes played: 1797
    Goals: 19
    Assists: 13
    Mins per GI: 56

    Cavani, played through the centre:

    Minutes played: 2589
    Goals: 28
    Assists: 7
    Mins per GI: 74

Mbappe, played on the right wing:

    Minutes played: 2171
    Goals: 13
    Assists: 7
    Mins per GI: 109

Not expecting Neymar or Cavani numbers from Aubameyang or Lacazette, and not suggesting that they are the same calibre of players, but I think it's quite interesting.

Take from this what you wish, I personally think it makes a double up on the Arsenal forwards a good option from GW 2-10.

      Cons:
      Fixtures

      Pros:
Everything else (price, form, quality etc.)

You might not agree, but surely you can at least understand why he's popular.

      Personally I'm undecided

With these fixtures Wood is an option also to start with. Monitoring Austin also. (When Arnie has nice run of good fixtures it is time for him if he is fit and in form.) As seen in HT no player is fixture proof to haul.

The herd was once shouting "Always captain Kane" and now part of is shouting Aaaaaaaarniiiie... Which is nice by the way, this is competition anyway 😉

Look at who he actually scored against last season, only scored in 9 games: chelsea, stoke, newc, bournemouth (2), huddersfield, watford, southampton(2), arsenal, everton.

6 of those 11 goals came in seven games over the xmas period where rotation is rife.

Pre-season form? He scored against wycombe, preston and villa - slightly different to liverpool, chelsea, utd, spurs and arsenals defences they face in the first 9. There are only gw 2 & 4 i would actually be interested in having him available.

I may indeed be wrong and i dont realy take FPL seriously but i see no reason why he should be in so many teams on here from the start.

The other posters are most likely right about the number of risks you've taken in defence. If you're unlucky, TAA, Daniels and Scheletto could all fail to start the season.

Sorry but I have to agree, this team looks very flawed to me. It could do great of course, as could any team, but there are some very unique/strange and probably misguided decision making logic must have went into picking it.

Good GK & potentially good if inefficient forward line, 3 very good midfielders, but the defence looks dodgy and the cardinal sin has also been committed.

That's fair enough, absolutely. Especially considering his form under Silva.

Besides, although his stats are not the best at first glance, he played really well for Fluminense. I am Brazilian myself and I can pretty much vouch for him

Me too. Richarlison is remembered by casuals and therefore fast bandwagon if he scores early and starts well. And he is very likely to get more assist points with Siggy and Tosun than he was with those great Watford players, whom I can't remember.

I was pretty convinced he was nailed up until City's last friendlies. I get it that he's coming from (i) Russia and (ii) a long injury, but still, he's been in the US with the team from the very beginning.

Besides, City's rotation can be... quite unpredictable, to say the least.

All this to say I'm not going with him. Not since GW1 at least.

Coming back from a serious injury but he is unquestionably Pep’s best left back.

So he will be rested for the easy winnable home games against the small teams, and saved for the bigger home games, tough away games, and tough champions league games.

Mané more explosive & probably scores more points minute for minute, but very high maintenance. You probably need a FT on standby in case he decides to heasbutt someone or gets injured.

Firmino more reliable & lower maintenance but lower points ceiling in individual games.

Firmino for me overall but Timing Mane correctly can be very lucrative

It has been a while very everyone has been slagging Jose off and i just needed a rant.

The man might not be the same, but his criticism is and has always been OTT. Yes our football bad last year but it wasn't always bad. It was bad in bits. Post Alexis, we've looked the worst we have all season trying to accomodate a very very tired Alexis. I've seen him in pre-season this year and he looks a completely different player. Much better, much sharper. We had a patch of good form just before Alexis was signed with Martial being in good form but there was a lot of imbalance in accomodating Alexis. People have called United's football dull, defensive, drab and extremely boring. This has not always been the case. We started the season pretty well and once Pogba got injured, it took us a while to make up for his loss. Pogba didn't look the same player once he got back in terms of hitting top form. Also, the biggest reason for our dull boring football is the defence Jose is protecting. Smalling is an absolute frustration to watch and United have no genuine wing backs due to which there is ZERO width. That defence and the protection it needs is the primary reason for our ULTRA defensive tactics imho.

There is a lot of garbage accumulated in this United squad and Jose has to undo a lot of that. Smalling, Darmian, Jones, Rojo, Young, Fellaini, a declining Carrick and Rooney, Schneiderlin, Depay, Schweinstieger. That is a lot of deadwood and he had a lot of reshuffling to do. He's not killed it in the transfer market but our most important players in the squad are all Jose signings at the moment. One big issue last year was the lack of width and we all saw in the world cup what Perisic is capable of and i know personally how he would have helped United massively. He's not done great in the market but he's not done awful either.

There's a lot of drab being spoken about how he doesn't improve players. Lukaku, Young, Lingard have massively massively improved under Jose. Martial is someone i personally have issues with because his attitude stinks in terms of fighting for his place. Wish he changed it. Shaw's interview today tells us how much Jose is trying to motivate him. Even with Pogba, Jose has been asking him to be this disciplined all season and i believe some of that rubbed off during the world cup.

He's obviously frustrated because Ed is faffing about for 5-10 mil but a world class CB and some wing backs are a must (Jose is taking a chance on Shaw this season because RW and CB are bigger priorities) and the pressure tactics are what he should do so that we can compete.

I personally think our squad over-performed last season and that was due to Jose. United are a team that was finishing 5th and 6th when Jose took over and we finished 2nd to an absolutely amazing city team. Jose managed to beat all of the remaining top 5 teams atleast once so he didn't do terrible and it ain't exactly doom and gloom.

Ya he might be a ticking time bomb, but i appreciate the stability that he's brought to the club and has already undone a lot of the damange done by LVG and Moyes taking United in the right direction. Being United, we aren't entitled to dominate always. Fergie was a God and it isn't possible to reach that level.

I hope if he's going out this season, he does by getting a proper CB and a RW. Atleast, there's no excuses after that. I for one am supporting him until he absolutely loses the plot which i don't think he has.

Really really hoping he turns it around and i have a feeling he will. Toby is the most important signing United will make imo.

A lot of the stick he gets is because he simply isn't good at PR. Ya his antics are not defendable but his criticism is just so OTT. Every man and his dog is out to get him and this is not the case for every other coach out there.

He's proven quality and no i don't think he's past it.

        Gwan Jose.

Before he lost the dressing room at Chelsea after laying into the female physio, he was giving off signals that he wasn't happy, and everyone missed them since there was no precedent. We shouldn't be blind to them a second time. If he melts down it will be in the first 3-4 gameweeks; if all is hale and hearty at United after that point I'll buy in - not before.

Your point on the defenders rings true.
When you look at "good" CB in other teams you always have to think its well and good being adept at defending the box, but to play for a top team you have to be able to play on the halfway line

United have absolutely noone who can play at the back. Jones is the best from that perspective and that's shocking but true.
Smalling is one the worst ball players to play for the club for such an extended period.

Compated to the other top sides its an area we are way behind on

City - Stones, the new bou Laporte, and even to a reasonable extent Kompany + Otamendi can also play
Spurs - Vertonghen, Alderwiereld, even Davies and Dier when used at CB
Liverpool - Van Dijk only, Matip tries and fails, Gomez unproven
Chelsea - Luiz, Azpilicueta + Christensen unproveb

Maguire or Toby will definitely help in that regard but not at the prices mentioned in the press so far.
Our main issue is no one to play out from the back and no width going forward.
Perisic would be great as he has a sweet left foot and get to the byline and stretch the play. Not too keen on Willian personally, but let's see what happens

So your argument is whether we look at his last season’s PREMIER LEAGUE goal tally in a vacuum.

                    Not his pressing
Not his larger presence in build up play
Not his work off the ball
                    Not his champions league goals
                    Not his Fa Cup contributions

Surely you play Lloris every week if you have him? So may as well get a 4.0 keeper over Fabs.

        DDG / 4.0

Azpi, Robbo, Coleman, Kola / Wan-B

Salah, Mahrez, Rambo, Jota / Hughes

        Arnie, Laca / 4.5

1.0 itb for the upcoming gameweeks

        What do you say, lads?
        1) Good?
        2) Should I (a) Keep it as it is, with 1.0 itb, or (b) go Kola-Doherty, Laca-Auba, 0 itb?

        Providing Willian stays at Chelsea. Thoughts on;

        a. Willian / Laca
        b. 6.0m / Auba

I can't see myself ever captaining Laca but would be confident with Auba, can't work out if it's just a cost thing?

        Can I get an opinion?
        I think it's a go-er - no pre-planned transfers, transfers will be dictated by form and injuries, 442 / 343 / 352 all do-able
Finally gave in and got Salah & Siggurdsson, over De Bruyne and Erikson, and downgraded Walcott ot Brady

        Begovic / Fabianski
Van Dijk / Bellerin / Shaw / Cedric / Tomkins
        Salah / Sigurdsson / Kenedy / Mikhitaryian / Brady
        Aubamegang / Firmino / Tosun

        Shaw or Alexander-Arnold
        Brady or Cavaleiro
        Tuson or Arnie
        Anyone to anyone else

I really like it bar Bellerin. Can’t see Arsenal keeping many clean sheets early on and his attacking input isn’t exactley great. Keep Shaw. Deulofeu is an alternative to Brady at 5.5 that you might want to consider. Keep Arnie

Deulofeu at Everton was pretty inconsistent (but then didn't exactly got a decent run in the team).

Decent squad. Plenty of options (though a benching headache!)

          TAA over the season
          Both will be rotated
Would probably start with Tosun if he proves himself as first choice but Arnie overall for sure.

Is it likely Firmino could miss GW1? Been looking at what's possible to do without Firmino as the second striker in a 3-5-2:

        Current team:
        5.0 - Button
        Robertson - Cédric - Peltier - Mee - Tomkins
Salah - Sessegnon - Jota - Sané -Milivojevic
        Aubameyang - Quaner - Firmino

        Without Firmino:
        5.0 - Button
        Robertson - Cédric - Peltier - Azpi - Tomkins
Salah - Sessegnon - Jota - Sané -Ramsey
        Aubameyang - Quaner - Arnautovic

        Thoughts?

Yeah, it's a gamble with an Arsenal double-up from GW 1, that1s for sure. Know I want Auba no matter what, so the question is really how to balance things out the best I can. If there were any indications Firmino might not start GW 1 - or limited minutes for that matter, it would be easier.

Definitely! Anyone can score a goal against Liverpool. Arsenal away has not been a tough game in about 7 years. Plus TWO absolutely lovely home games.

Overall his first 4 fixtures definitely on the good side of solid. You could argue they are actually good fixtures for a forward. But minimum they are good side of solid.

You say anyone can score against Liverpool... bear in mind they had one of the league's most solid defences last season, towards the end anyway, and that has been strengthened very much by Alisson's arrival too.

Absolutely, VVD has tightened them up tremendously, and Alisson should do similar for the money he cost. But Klopp’s style of play gives every team they play against big chances.

As I say below, anfield isn’t a great fixture for Arnie, but it’s certainly not a bad fixture.

He possibly could be, but he doesn’t even have bad opening fixtures. There is a lot of group think where people have seen Liverpool & arsenal away & have ran for the hills, they are not bad fixtures for a forward. They’re not GREAT fixtures, but here not bad. Arsenal were very good at home last year, and will *probably* tighten up under Emery. Liverpool were Small Gods at home last year after the addition of VVD. BOU is admittedly a princely fixture and cancels out ars, WOL is a bit of a wildcard fixture. I'm not sure all that equals good side of solid.

Yeah I think people are putting too much weighting on his away to Liverpool GW1 fixture. It’s also a game Arnie is easily capable of nicking a goal or assist in. On balance those opening 4 fixtures are definitely good side of solid for me. He could do nothing in them of course, as could any player, but I woukdnt be surprised to see him deliver in 3 of those games, *maybe* all 4

Who is the best 5.5 this season? Looks really bad with Fraser, Gray / Albrighton, Brady and Deulofeu the best out of a bad bunch?

Last season only Mooy and Fernandinho scored more than 110 points, or more than 20 times their value. Obviously minutes played factors into this, but playing the same 5.5 is every week is not very lucratieve while switching band wagons is often very hard to do and even harder to predict.

I'm gonna say Fraser for the start of the season. With 5 goals 3 assists managed to get 13 bonus so that decent. He is on corners I remember. Fixtures decent.

Albrighton / Mooy probably longer term, and we are not wasting an Arsenal / City spot on Xhaka, Fernandinho so I'm discounting them.

Arnie form making it hard to say this, but I still feel like Zaha is a safer bet to start off with, and if Arnie is still firing in the tough games (eg if he gets some goal involvement vs LIV GW1), it's an easy swap to make...

Currently having Robertson in defence and Arnie upfront is uncomfortable...unless both score and/or assist of course.

Liking the idea of holding capital back for Pogba from about wk3 onwards because as the only player @ 8m he is a very awkward price point, just above all the value 7-7.5s and below the premium 8.5-9.5s. For that reason could be an excellent differential as many teams wont be able to bring him in without sacrificing a big hitter or taking points hits.
