West Ham United’s line-up for their trip to Anfield in Gameweek 1 will have a very different look to the side that sleepwalked to a 13th-place finish in 2017/18.

Summer signings Lukasz Fabianski (£4.5m), Issa Diop (£4.5m), Fabian Balbuena (£4.5m), Ryan Fredericks (£5.0m), Jack Wilshere (£5.0m), Andriy Yarmolenko (£7.0m) and Felipe Anderson (£7.0m) all have realistic chances of starting against Liverpool a week on Sunday, while new manager Manuel Pellegrini has ditched the three-man backline favoured by predecessor David Moyes in favour of an attacking 4-3-3.

West Ham were a team of contradictions last season; no side conceded more league goals than the Hammers, but only the clubs finishing in the top seven kept more clean sheets.

Similarly, while their total of 48 goals scored was the eighth-best in the division, their underlying attacking statistics were mostly unremarkable – more of which we will discuss later in this article.

A grim-looking opening run of fixtures in which the Hammers play five of the “big six” in the first nine Gameweeks will likely deter too much Fantasy investment in Pellegrini’s side, but in Marko Arnautovic (£7.0m) the east London club have a player bang in form and in high demand among Fantasy Premier League managers.

In-depth data on West Ham’s season is available in the Members’ Area, while Fantasy Football Scout members can also read our detailed analysis of the key statistics in the feature below.

    Hey Guys - here goes

    Pickford - Fabri
Trippier, VVD, Mendy, Jonny, Wan Bissaka
    Salah, Sane, Mkhi, Jota, Kennedy
    Firmino, Zaha, Mitrovic

Gone with Pickford for now in the hopes that Chelsea lose Cortious and pick him/Schmeichel up

    Thoughts?

If there is an uneven amount of players in a head-to-head league, one team will be the average score. Is the average of all teams or the average of everyone in the league?
    Cheers

The overall FPL average score for that week so for a strong active team it's generally a win.

They are all talking rubbish, it is the average of all the teams in your draft league. Otherwise it wouldn’t work because the average score for managers in smaller draft leagues should be higher more often than not.

        Premier league
16/17 - scored against: palace, hull, sunderland, middlesborough
        17/18 - scored against:
Chelsea, stoke, newc, bournemouth, huddersfield, watford, southampton, arsenal, everton

Hardly anyone . . . . In cact some pretty crap sides. Hardly any against top half defences (as per his first 9 gameweeks)

Depending how confident i am in any City option I'll own by then I am considering having Arnie as a captain punt gw2 is one reason I'm tempted by him. That said my current draft has both in it.

Plays for a more attacking team (is the assumption with Pellegrini), and definitely upfront. Hernandez might get time as well, but that might be with two strikers, even. Zahas striker position is now under threat from Ings, if/when he joins.

Can two people join a public draft league and land in the same league?

Or do they have to create a private one?

    1. AndyCook
      7 years, 11 months ago

Yes you can. There’s not many players at any one time so chances are really high. Plus before the draft starts you can delete your team anyway if it doesn’t work out.

      1. AndyCook
        7 years, 11 months ago

You can delete your team by going to the bottom and choosing Admin and then delete team down the bottom.

    2. AndyCook

        1. AndyCook
          7 years, 11 months ago

Yeah the next increment of 15 mins provided the league is full. You have 90 seconds a pick, it feels quite long

How is the first draft looking? Is defender too weak? Sanchez, Mane, Salah and Aguero too much? 3-5-2 is the way how to play.

    Ederson (Boruc)
VvD - Tomkins - Cedric (Boly - WanBissaka)
    Salah - Mane - Sanchez - Richalison - Costa
    Aguero - Arnautovic (Quaner)

Lots of 11 (Auba/Kun) + 7 (Arnie/Zaha) forward lines. Anyone considering Laca + Morata for about the same price? Obviously risky (especially Morata), but would be a massive differential.

Pls don't cut my head off, I know this is silly. But he might just fool me again. At 5.5, can someone please tell me, will Nathaniel Redmond be a regular starter for Soton this season?

Armstrong is maybe a better pick at the same price

Redmond has burned me and many others too many times.

Rather go for Mooy, Hughes, Pritchard, Fernandinho or anyone else at that price.

    *accidently posted on old article:

Should I be considering getting rid of a Burnley defender based off these 2 games in EL or just look at them as pre season games?

Doesn’t fill me with confidence seeing them concede in both legs against a not particularly good team...

All dependent on if Heaton can play. They have their 3rd GK out there today.

True, though not sure the keeper would have helped for today’s goal - was poor defending to begin with
