Fantasy Football Scout are giving you the opportunity to ask questions of our esteemed panel of FPL personalities ahead of the 2018/19 season.

If you are stuck on a particular issue and want some external input then this is your chance to get the feedback you need.

We’ve assembled a panel of four this week and will be bringing you a different set for each Gameweek over the course of the season.

You can find out what their answers are Monday.

Who’s on the panel this week?

Chief #FPL Manager – This man has finished inside the top one percent six times in his career as a Fantasy manager and is one of the biggest influencers in the FPL Twitter-sphere

Lejuan Shanen Basson – Finished 24th in the world last season.

Good question. A bit vague. Really well in fpl or pl 😉 And what makes it a surprise though? For masses low ownership is probably decent metric. Would assume people here have more knowledge.

      Does Mendy count? 🙂

Choosing a team like this was an idea by "Ain't nothing like Tom" in previous page. Just to be on the safe side against high ownership.

I thought I should show what the whole team would look like with his strategy 😉

I currently have Ryan + Steele myself - Brighton restrict attacking forwards to mostly long range shots, so he achieves easy save points.
Joe Hart looks set to join Burnley within the next 48 hours, so will be interesting to see if he comes in at 4.5, otherwise I'll probably stick to Ryan + Steele

I think Pool or Chelsea will can really close this year and if both stay close to City they can collectively drag City down. If it turns into a 2 horse race, City will win it for me.

Last year City had a good cushion in the PL to not let the disappointment of a Champs League loss affect them too much in the premier league. If the teams I mentioned stay close, don't be surprised if a City loss in the Champs league carries over to the league.

Eriksen's one of my favourite FPL players and faces an seemingly underwhelming Newcastle (did well in the opener at St James' last season) and Fulham at home.

Yet his price and Spurs in transition team and ground wise means he's currently missing out.

Who is the best Wolves defender to have?

If you feel my going with the old Wolves is some Spartan-like madness, do please recommend a defender and mid from the same team who amounts to just 11 million sterling (I have a thing for the old double up)

      Much obliged.

      Two things:

Briefly discussed the Soton goalie situation, but after thinking it was McCarthy I simply don't know the answer... Gunn?

Fedfolean(?) had an excellent suggestion of leaving that last third Pool spot up for grabs. Salah and Robertson to start with Firmino and VVD the likely contenders for the last spot but with the flexibility of giving Alisson, Lovren, TAA, Keita, Mane all opportunities

Yeah, it's amazing how this game forces you to over analyse every detail and then a simple suggestion seems such a eureka moment of clarity! I'm off the Mane train simply because when you scratch below the surface he's dismal at being in the shout for bonus.

Not seen much love/conversation for Kamara today after his goal. Has scored a few goals now in pre season and looks to be first choice alongside Mitrovic for Fulham (they are playing with 2 strikers) . As the only starting 4.5 striker in the game, he could be a big enabler in our squads alongside the likes of Wan Bisaka and Peltier. Considering boldly starting him in my team for the opening gameweek. Having a starting 4.5 striker and two starting 4.0 defenders in our squads frees up a lot of funds to get the key premium players. What do we think?

Jokanovic's comments on Mawson today are good new for Kamara fans "No. He won't be ready. We will be waiting between two and three weeks for him to start working with us. In this moment I don't expect he can help us before September." That's good news as I am only planning to play Kamara in GW1 (will start the other cheap options of thereon in with Peltier and Wan Bisaka). Agree that its a short term option.
I'm just curious, does Jokanovic ever play a 4-5-1 system? Or are you just anticipating that he changes formations from a 4-4-2?

I'd hazard a guess that he is not first choice for long. When Mawson is fit, we'll look like this:

        ------------------- Fabri ---------------------
        Christie Mawson Ream LeMarchand
        ------------- McDonald/Seri --------------
        ---- Seri/Johansen --- Cairney --------
        Schurrle --------------------- Sessegnon
        ----------------- Mitrovic -------------------

Personally can't see it, TM. Although he scored the goal that saw us through the playoff semi-finals, he's an absolute liability at the best of times.

One quirk that he does have is that he's essentially a John O'Shea or Daley Blind type player in that he could fill in anywhere across the back line and CDM if necessary.

From an FPL point of view, decently. I think he'll score 10+ and chip in with 4/5 assists.

But overall I think he'll be unbelievable. His hold up play was absolutely incredible for us last season and gave our wide players and TC so much creative license.

In short, his overall play will be very good, but this'll translate into an average FPL tally.

To me it seems like if Ryan Sessegnon is filling in at LB then Kamara will play RW.

If Ryan Sessegnon is playing LW, then Schurrle will be playing RW and Kamara will be benched.

So if it goes wrong... blame Ryan Sessegnon who, would you believe, is 18 😆

Interesting! That certainly makes it more likely that he'll play than if Mawson were in the team. However he'll probably still share minutes with Ayite and Kebano.

Last season, our formation for the ENTIRE season was:

            ----------- GK ----------
            RB -- CB -- CB -- LB
            ---------- CDM --------
            ----- CM ---- CM -----
            RW ---------------- LW
            ----------- ST ----------

It never once changed from that, from what I can recall 🙂 Haven't played two up front since we had Dembele and McCormack.
