Let’s Talk FPL’s Andy looks at the post-restart performances of Aston Villa, Sheffield United, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in his latest Pro Pundits piece.

The new normal isn’t all that different so far from a Fantasy Premier League perspective.

Danny Ings (£7.3m) is still in great goalscoring form, Kevin De Bruyne (£10.7m) has averaged 7.6 points per match in the opening three games, and Nick Pope (£5.0m) is making a mockery of anyone who brings in a different goalkeeper.

With that being said, I do want to explore whether there are any differences we can spot following the Gameweeks and matches we’ve seen since football restarted.

Manchester City are set to learn their European fate from the Court of Arbitration for Sport on July 13.

what do u guys think will happen ? one year ban and a fine ?

I think whatever the verdict if the case is not thrown out city will just appeal in the next court up

    1. Davido989
      • 16 Years
      6 years, 1 month ago

Either reduced to 1 year or they'll get away with it.

thats the sad reality they've been cheating and no legit action will ever be taken will always be some fine that is peanuts to city or reduced squad in UCL which is a joke of a punishment

        1. Davido989
          • 16 Years

If they're proven guilty, PL and FA should open their own investigation if they haven't already.

Probably won't though, money talks. And it'd potentially mean stripping them off the trophies won in that period.

          1. ZimZalabim
            • 10 Years
            6 years, 1 month ago

The FA did say when they original ban was given by Uefa that they would investigate and the 2014 Title was the one that was potentially going to be taken from them, but obviously that would never happen. Apart from the fact City would fight it and throw as much money as they need to, their owners bailed out banks in UK during one of the crashes and are in a position of power in that regard and the FA will be pressured to toss the case out.

City have the best lawyers and have been reported to have hired like three firms that are the absolute vest money can buy and have more money then UEFA and told UEFA that they will tie them up in court for as long as they have to.

So as you guys said Money talks and City walks

    Hi guys, how’s it going?

Worth getting back on the Burnley defence here? Mindful it sounds like chasing points but ditching Taylor in my WC seems a mistake now.

If so, who would you sell? Lascelles after this week? Would mean burning a FT...

    2FT, 0.1ITB

    TAA Doherty Justin Lascelles
    Salah KdB Bruno Son

no point in having Foden on the bench. I think if you have him you have to start him with a good option off the bench.

Richarlison is frustrating but he does have haulability which makes him more attractive. Might work out, might not but EVE are creating tons of chances, likely to come good before the season ends.

              Good point
I sold DCL last week as he might play a lot and have loads of chances. He also looks like needing even more chances to score. But it might bite me back, I know ...

Tammy seems like a conundrum for lampard, he provides goals but giroud is a much better team player which brings the best out of pulisic and co. Imo that's perhaps why giroud has been starting more

There is that, but Tammy's performances simply haven't been up to scratch either.

Constantly offise and throwing his hands up in annoyance.

Although he won a penalty for it, I'm astounded how he wasn't able to put the chance vs. City across the line for a year's out.

When two footed greenwood plays as compared to Dan James, he tucks in and leaves a good amount of space for awb to attack. Although his assists rate now is unsustainable, he'd surely be in good bonus territory including his tackles and what not

Sole reason for Maguire is security of starts but only the FA cup is a plausible risk. United are bad in corners because Maguire is the only real threat, wonder who else has scored a header for them this season?

Did a really casual move and raged in Bruno for mahrez yesterday as part of a -8 to also get rid of Auba. Found myself arguing that he should be at least 10.5 next season and realized in that case it's pure stupidity not owning him at sub 9.0

    Pope
    Alexander-Arnold // Aurier // Wan-Bissaka
    Foden // Fernandes // Salah (C) // Mahrez // De Bruyne
    Kane // Greenwood

    Button // Ings // Doherty // Holgate

My starting 11 is soley based on the FDR rating, it could change based on how many minutes players play tonight.

Yes but gonna need some big differentials that may only be different ifor one GW f your opponent adopts a blocking strategy

I think Pope outscores Nyland by 4 if not this GW then across the next two.

For those saying Richarlison and Everton have tough fixtures...

    Richarlison have scored vs:

    Wolves(2)
    Liv-away
    City-away
    Chelsea
    Arsenal
    Leic-away

    so far this season...

Think richarlison looked good against Liverpool but without siggy against teams who defend deeper, they look out of ideas. So I suppose tough fixtures allow Richa a better chance of scoring?

Richarlison is definitely on my watchlist for the last 3 weeks (Although predictably got a few raised eyebrows from the "but but he's not on last week's bandwagon" brigade for pointing this out the other day though below)

      https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2020/06/28/ings-starts-third-straight-match-for-saints-in-sundays-only-gameweek-32-fixture/?hc_page=3&hc_sort_by=comment_date#hc_comment_21970897

But i think him & DCL in a double up along with 3x city attackers + Ings will close out those last 3 gameweeks with a pretty big bang

Losing Salah, Vardy, Jimmy & probably Martial to get those lads in

Mahrez has the form and the fixtures and I think he gets 65 minutes each match but son seems to be able to get points no matter the fixtures or position he plays.
The question is will mahrez be able to outscore son by say 20 points by the end of the season? I take the hit but depends on your current goal and position too

For 32+, given I have Doherty already. Which one of these to play:

    A) Saiss (ARS) - Wolves sturdy at back
    B) Egan (bur) - good fixture?
    C) Canwell (BHA) - goal in cup
    D) Grealish (liv) - looked better in new role

    Pope (3.9)
    TAA Alonso Azpilicueta AWB (Lamptey)
    Salah(c) Sterling Mahrez Bruno Martial
    Jesus (Connolly) (Brewster)

2x Liverpool, 2x Chelsea, 3x Man U and 3x Man C in starting line up plus the legend in goal, with Connolly + Lamptey v Norwich off the bench if needed

I know people have already sold Salah, hence the drop, but if he doesn't start against City, or only plays 60 minutes, we can assume he will start against Villa which is an amazing match. If he does start and plays the whole match, who will people sell him for? I was thinking of upgrading DCL to Rashford and downgrading Salah to Pulisic. What is everybody else thinking of doing with Salah?

But Klopp has already said, in two different post-match press conferences, that he will rotate the squad now for the rest of the season. Are you not concerned about that?

I’ll be surprised if Salah doesn’t start against Aston Villa, because of the golden boot race, there isn’t a need to rest him, they’re not in any other competitions! I think we’re likely to see more rotation in the defense, and central midfield

      1. The Big Fella

me too but but Klopp has already said, in two different post-match press conferences, that he will rotate the squad now for the rest of the season. He is too expensive to be sat on the bench for a juicy fixture like that. He rotated against Everton and played Minamino instead of Salah.

There is no reason, most of the time it’s luck, either could haul at any moment, Salah seems to have the form currently, but Mane could easily brace against Villa, it’s as simple as that with them 2, luck
