Let’s Talk FPL’s Andy looks at the post-restart performances of Aston Villa, Sheffield United, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in his latest Pro Pundits piece.

The new normal isn’t all that different so far from a Fantasy Premier League perspective.

Danny Ings (£7.3m) is still in great goalscoring form, Kevin De Bruyne (£10.7m) has averaged 7.6 points per match in the opening three games, and Nick Pope (£5.0m) is making a mockery of anyone who brings in a different goalkeeper.

With that being said, I do want to explore whether there are any differences we can spot following the Gameweeks and matches we’ve seen since football restarted.

Is Mahrez and Jesus double up a bad idea?

only reason you dont like it is cos u have rashford jimi and a sub 7 mil third striker so u have no feasible way of getting him.. could be a great differential based on season stats.

If he liked him as a pick could have easily went there ahead of Rashford ya big wally ya.

wallyy ahahha.. we only just received news that agueros out for the season and he woulda had rashford before that.. no reason to take rash out for jesus when rash is predicted to perform still..

Jesus is too expensive and I see him still a rotation risk despite no Aguero, I’d rather add Mahrez or Foden to KDB, that’s how I see it, you can do whatever you want with your team

I'm not that keen on jesus as pep is happy to play without a striker. I think mahrez gets a lot of minutes thoughts sane leaving so pep probably won't bother playing him much. Mahrez on my wanted list but do feel a rest could be coming after the liverpool match.

I have Lascelles 2nd sub and guendouzi 3rd so I guess I should be cheering them on in case random benchings. Have Lundstram starting so a good chance my first sub Egan comes in.

Best combo for next few gw's

    A) Doherty + Aurier + Martial + Pulisic (-4)
    B) Doherty + rotate Taylor/Holgate/Kiko + Pulisic + Rashford
    C) Aurier + rotate Taylor/Holgate/Kiko + Mahrez + Rashford

    Surely A right?

    A good move or no?

    Lascelles\Saka\Rashford>>AWB\Mahrez\Greenwood for -8

Gives me a defence of TAA/AWB/Doc and 3 UTD players Bruno|Martial\AWB

    But I lose Rashford.

Really want Pulisic (if fit).. I feel like Son is the only candidate to move out of my midfield?

    Salah / Bruno / Martial / KDB / Son

This will then allow me to bring Jesus in vs Newcastle at home next week (for free)?

Martial could just as easily blank 3 games in a row so Son out isnt automatic.
Im one of the agnostics when it comes to Jesus - think he is a frustrating player to own and not sure he will deliver when required. Think the goals will come from elsewhere.

      1. Hitmonlee
        • 7 Years
        6 years, 13 days ago

Yeah quite possibly. I just don’t have room for an extra city attack. So it kind of has to be a forward slot.
No point looking in defence. I could sacrifice Pulisic for Mahrez and maybe get Alonso or Azpilicueta at the back instead?

Had this team since 31 WC, quite happy with it, but City have to come in as well as a Man U defender.

    Pope
    TAA, Aurier, Doherty
    Mane, Bruno, Martial, *Richarlison, *Son
    DCL, Jimenez

    Button, Nketiah, Taylor, Lascelles

    0.1 ITB 2FT

    1) Richarlison and Son to KDB and Foden, following week Lascelles to AWB/Maguire
    2) If Foden is necked against Pool, I believe there is a strong chance he'll play against NEW the following game, so Richarlison and Lascelles to Foden and AWB/Maguire.

    Thoughts? TIA

    1. Whiskerz
      • 12 Years
      6 years, 13 days ago

Really similar to my team. I have KDB instead of Rich and Patricio instead of Pope. But your bench is better.

I think you have to see son and rich play before making a move.

I'd be scared of not having KDB so its option 1 for me unless the next few games change your mind

Rightly or wrongly I’m a sword/shield and fixture manager. Son and Rich haven’t necessarily served their purpose, but fixtures sour and if Son doesn’t produce tomorrow, most will sell him. I think KDB is definitely a shield but was worth taking out my team for the short term gains. I think if he starts against Liverpool, I don’t think he will against SOU

People trying to predict that Liverpool’s form will dip and as a result Salah’s due to there being no motivation plus potential rotation with weaker players in the starting 11.

      Defo B imo

Think holding Sterling is potentially fantastic. Comes at a price of course.

See you have a gk to swap out to enable upgrade of 5th mid/defender in a couple

Cheers all... wow, was set on A all week but then Greenwood last night cemented his place in United's line-up and looks much sharper than Rashford.

B it is. And Sterling is a big differential in the top 10k so makes sense to keep.

don't agree that he looks sharper than rashford, think rashford has looked good. just how the cookie crumbles some times. I'd still rather have rashford.

Any stats gurus still think Bruno is not captainable? Take a look at his stats from Portugal to see he has outperformed his xG substantially before, not just at United -- which might suggest it's sustainable:

Am I wrong to think he is the best captain option from United?

      Could be.

He is the best captain option from United. Passes the eye test with flying colours, loves a shot, on set pieces and penalties.

Ballers, Had this team since 31 WC, quite happy with it, but City have to come in as well as a Man U defender.

    Pope
    TAA, Aurier, Doherty
    Mane, Bruno, Martial, *Richarlison, *Son
    DCL, Jimenez

    Button, Nketiah, Taylor, Lascelles

    0.1 ITB 2FT

    1) Richarlison and Son to KDB and Foden, following week Lascelles to AWB/Maguire
    2) If Foden is necked against Pool, I believe there is a strong chance he'll play against NEW the following game, so Richarlison and Lascelles to Foden and AWB/Maguire.

    Thoughts? TIA

Probably 2 as KDB probably won't start against Saints, do you agree?

With Aguero out for the season Jesus is unironically essential. Pep will want to get him as gelled as possible with the rest of the squad.

    How’s my FH draft looking?
    Ryan, 3.9m
    TAA, Doherty, Azpilecueta, Maguire, 3.9m
    Mane, Salah, Mahrez, Foden, Martial
    Maupay, Rashford, 4.2m
    Or do you prefer:
    DDG, 3.9m
    TAA, VVD, Doherty, Robinson, Lamptey
    Salah, KDB, Pulisic, Foden, Martial
    Rashford, Jesus, 4.2m

They both have a lot of rotation risks and your bench is very thin. I guess A is a bit less risky because it only has 2 City players.
