We have now reached the sixth round of our FFS Cup, with only 16 Fantasy managers remaining in the competition following the conclusion of Gameweek 33+.

The round-of-16 will play out in Gameweek 34+, the deadline for which is at 17:00 BST today.

ALL RESULTS FROM THE FIFTH ROUND CAN BE VIEWED HERE
THE FULL DRAW FOR THE SIXTH ROUND IS AVAILABLE TO VIEW HERE

Former winner Wild Rover is still alive and kicking, having narrowly seen off Cailean_2 at the weekend.

Manisaspor, our highest ranked manager, was indebted to his lofty OR as it saw him through to the last 16 after a 76-all draw with Strawberry Fields.

wilkinson‘s score of 92 was the highest of the round, while niksan squeaked through despite scoring just 50 points.

Only two of our remaining 16 managers are ranked outside the top 100,000.

HOW DO THE CUP COMPETITIONS WORK?

The FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own cup game.

Entrants who qualify for the first round were randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores).

In the event of a draw, the manager highest in the overall FPL rankings after the tie will progress.

WHAT IS THE GAMEWEEK SCHEDULE?

The FFS Cup competition will be played out according to the following proposed Gameweek schedule:

Fantasy Football Scout Cup Round Dates
Qualifying – Gameweek 28

Round 1 – Gameweek 29
Round 2 – Gameweek 30+
Round 3 – Gameweek 31+
Round 4 – Gameweek 32+
Round 5 – Gameweek 33+
Round 6 – Gameweek 34+
Quarter-Final – Gameweek 35+
Semi-Finals – Gameweek 36+
Final and third-place play-off – Gameweek 37+

WHEN ARE THE FIXTURES RELEASED?

Where possible, the fixture list for each round will be published before each Gameweek deadline.

  1. Gameweek 34+ Captaincy

Kevin De Bruyne, Bruno Fernandes and Harry Kane look like the main captaincy contenders this gameweek, but which horse are you backing?

KDB: Rested, home game, opposition have injury problems and not much to play for, penalties.

Bruno: 30 points in his last two games, seemingly undroppable, probably on the next penalty, team is highly motivated and in excellent form.

Kane: Penalties, very rarely doesn’t get the full 90 minutes, Bournemouth look absolutely woeful. Will be away though.

Probably De Bruyne for me, though United are still benefiting from a less tighter schedule than City and look to be on a roll whilst Kane could be a huge differential for those willing to take the plunge.

    Anyone doing anything different?

Who will be your captain this gameweek and why?

Rank 7.7k and going with KDB. Also own Sterling and Foden which I feel is enough of a differential for me.

Have all 3 and don't trust Kane. Head says KDB but heart says Bruno.

KdB for me. Already been burned by Villa's defence when I captained Jimi a few weeks back. Logic suggests KdB should start, fingers crossed! Fernandes viced.

KDB as it’s a nicer fixture and rested. Easy decision this week. Spurs haven’t been great.

Kiko: Utterly useless so won’t expect anything at all and therefore won’t be a monumental let down like all the big hitters I manage to captain on their ‘off’ day. It’s my new coping strategy.

I hadn't thought of this before, that's a great plan. I'm probably playing TC this week (on KDB) but I might switch it to Kiko now.

Sorry! It would make a little difference to me, but I can't look past KdB this week. I may go Mahrez if I'm feeling brave but the last three times I swtiched from my first choice captain it ended up going badly (most recently a Fernandes to Salah move with 5 mins to go in the GW just gone 🙁 )

Well I'm top of my ML with my rivals closing in after making a disastrous minority captain choice (Mahrez) last GW, so I'm playing it conservative and choosing the most popular pick, Kev.

    Greenwood Jimi

    Subs: Ings Lascelles Williams

Decided it's in for a penny in for a pound at this stage of the season if I'm serious about top 1k. Climbed from 17k to 7k these past 3 weeks and now need some top 10k differentials to push on again. So despite possible injuries to Holgate and Lascelles, I'll gamble that Femenia plays the next 2 against NOR and NEW and instead use my FT on Jimenez > Kane.

Who likes the new team for this week?

    Pope
    TAA, Doherty, Femenia
    Salah, KDB(c), Bruno(vc), Pulisic
    Kane, Rashford, Greenwood
    Subs: Martin, Holgate, Lascelles, Davis

Next week it's Kane > Vardy to keep chasing that sweet Bournemouth defence.

Anyone else think next season the deadline should be put back 2 hours?

Yea, put the deadline to 5PM on Saturdays.

Right after the full time whistle sounds decent.

Just because on game weeks like this, if there’s early team news, people in Asia are fast asleep and shouldn’t have to get up to check early team news. That’s all

You're not making any sense sorry.

If you put the deadline back 2 hours then the deadline is at half time of the first match or all the matches on any given Saturday.

I think you're question needs rewording.

The deadline is an hour before the first match kicks

He means putting the deadline to 2 hours before KO of the first match, to avoid people taking advantage of team leaks while some international players will be asleep

i took a -4 to do jimenez+rashford to kane and greenwood, already have a bad feeling about it, the moral of the story is forget about Kane, he'll disappoint as always
