Tomas Soucek (£5.0m) could compete with a number of mid-priced midfielders for a starting place in Fantasy Premier League teams this season.

The West Ham man finished the 2019/20 campaign in relatively encouraging form, scoring three times across the final nine Gameweeks and averaging 4.1 points per matches.

Those three strikes could easily have been added to as Soucek developed a real eye for shots during the Project Restart period.

A nailed-on route into West Ham’s midfield, the Czech Republic international could continue his assault on opposing goals in 2020/21, which makes him an interesting prospect compared the £4.5m assets and even some £5.5m options.

To assess his true Fantasy worth, we have examined Soucek’s underlying statistics from the final nine Gameweeks of 2019/20. As this uses Opta data, only those with a valid Fantasy Football Scout subscription can access it in full.

What is Soucek’s average position?

Is anybody tempted to get 9 or 10 premium players ?, It's possible with Soucek as an enabler, if you go heavy at the back.

A 10 premium player team is below,

    Ederson
    TAA, Robbo, VVD, Laporte, Doherty
    Fernandes, Son, Soucek
    Werner, Martial

    4.0, 4.5, 4.5, 4.5

    0.5m ITB

I can see that working. Only problem is you don't have elite captain pick options.

Captaincy is the biggest problem I can see, it is possible to squeeze Salah or KDB and still have 10 premium option if you downgrade Robbo to 6.0m .

          I was thinking
          Ryan
          Doherty - TAA - VVD - Robbo - Vinagre
          Kdb - Bruno
          Wood - Ings - Jimi

          Button, Soucek, Gordon, Bissouma

I have a few versions of it, if Manchester clubs blank then KDB and Bruno change to other premiums. And people like wood fixture dependant

I'm on sort of a halfy hafly.

            5.0
            TAA, Robbo, Doherty, 4.5m rotation
            Salah, KDB, ASM, Soucek
            Werner, Martial

Arsenal are reportedly closing in on the transfer of Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes as he prepares to have a medical with the club.

Last night, the reliable Duncan Castles tweeted that Gabriel was due to have a medical with Arsenal today, with Lille having agreed to sell the 22-year-old to the Gunners for around €30million.

Super stuff by arsenal. They have gone almost in a liverpool way this time
Contrast Arteta to ole, who is still trying to get one player when it was very clear which positions needed cover

It is very likely. Spurs are stagnant and a kane injury from disaster. Wolves are a real challenge but raul transfer could set them back. United wheels, will come off by November once their front four is played to the ground. Ole anyways depends more on individual brilliance than tactics.

If Coutinho also comes in, I think arsenal will be third ahead of Chelsea

Luiz worries me. You can put him next to van Dijk and they will concede two atleast. He is good off the field, but a liability on it. Only defender that gives Phil jones a challenge

Ryan's points for last 3 seasons

    2017/18 - 146
    2018/19 - 116 (extrapolated from 34 games)
    2019/20 - 135

It give us hope to expect something around 130 points. I surely worse than Allison's standards (160-170) or Pope/Henderson's top class last season with similar score, but very comparable with all other options (Ederson, DDG, Patricio etc) considering price. Does this make Ryan + Button safe set and forget option with guarranteed points during the season for just 9.5?

I did it last year, but switched to Pope during WC I guess. Your thoughs.

Auba being Auba - that'll likely be:

      ful - 2
      WHM - 5
      liv - 13
      SHU - 2
      mci - 12
      LEI - 7
      MUN - 13
      AVL - 2
      lee - 2
      WOL - 7

      etc
      etc

I don't think it's a waste to tinker without fixtures. You get to really think through the pros and cons of various players without being distracted by fixtures

For sure, and by that logic every video game would be a ‘waste of time’ - fact is tinkering away or watching fpl stuff is Fun and a nice change from work

Can theoretically get a 30-day gap between seasons, but only if they don't have a preseason or play for their counties in the Nations League.
