Tomas Soucek (£5.0m) could compete with a number of mid-priced midfielders for a starting place in Fantasy Premier League teams this season.

The West Ham man finished the 2019/20 campaign in relatively encouraging form, scoring three times across the final nine Gameweeks and averaging 4.1 points per matches.

Those three strikes could easily have been added to as Soucek developed a real eye for shots during the Project Restart period.

A nailed-on route into West Ham’s midfield, the Czech Republic international could continue his assault on opposing goals in 2020/21, which makes him an interesting prospect compared the £4.5m assets and even some £5.5m options.

To assess his true Fantasy worth, we have examined Soucek’s underlying statistics from the final nine Gameweeks of 2019/20. As this uses Opta data, only those with a valid Fantasy Football Scout subscription can access it in full.

What is Soucek’s average position?

Leeds are predicted to finish like 13th this season. Not a plum fixture, especially with Bielsa and his disciplined system. I don't expect them to get smashed.

Fulham then West Ham, the only time you'd want the man.

Was slightly tounge in cheek with the speed of fixtures dropped but no city and I'll switch to him

Champions Liverpool will begin the defence of their Premier League title against newly-promoted Leeds United at Anfield.

The other two newly-promoted sides begin the season at home, with Fulham hosting London rivals Arsenal and West Brom taking on Leicester.

Manchester City's opening fixture is against Aston Villa, though the game will be rescheduled because of City's involvement in Europe. The same applies to Manchester United's opener against Burnley.

Chelsea and Wolves' opening games are both scheduled for Monday, 14 September after going out in the quarter-finals of Europe.

The Blues are at Brighton, while Wolves go to Sheffield United.

The other fixtures are Crystal Palace v Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur v Everton and West Ham United v Newcastle United.
