    Thoughts?

    Martinez
    Saliba - Tarkowski - Udogie
    Salah - Saka (C) - Fernandes - Kluivert
    Haaland - Watkins - Darwin
    (4m GK - Pau - Kaboré - Nakamba)

Like the Kluivert punt, very excited to see Bournemouth under Iraola and he should suit his style. Are we sure Udogie is a starter?

Agreed. Think they'll surprise some of the big boys.
        Udogie's been playing a lot in pre-season, I think he's nailed

I think you might be better off swapping Martinez, Kabore + Kluivert > Pickford, Estupinan + Ahamada in a 4-3-3.

Cheers, will consider that. Just don't want to stick with Pickford for GW2. Kluivert may get a cheeky, late return against the big teams. Tricky call, though.

Anybody knowledgeable enough to predict Brighton’s most likely starting XI? Tempted by many of their players but concerned over playing time

Neale will give it a good go, later next week i guess!

Gw1 must be hard to predict.

        Brighton predicted line up

        Steele

        Milner Dunk Webster, Estupinian

Mitoma Encisi Caicedo March ( new signing)

        Welbeck Pedro

I watched a ton of BHA games last season but its still very difficult with lots of ifs and ors.

Steele or Verbruggen - I don't know. If Dunk is fit - Veltman Webster Dunk Estupinan. If not fit, Van Hecke/Veltman covering CB; Groß RB if latter. Caicedo + Groß/Dahoud in the pivot. Mitoma should be nailed but the rest...
      March/Adingra Lallana/Enciso
      Welbeck/Pedro
Or even Welbeck & Pedro as 9/10

    Currently sitting on this..........

    Onana Forster
    Chilly Saliba Estupinan Botman Baldock
Bruno F. Saka Maddy Foden Jota
    Halaand J.Pedro Nunez

Not sure how to feel really considering the many many differential options out there. Possibly missing Mitoma, Watkins, Nkunku, Rashy, Shaw, Diaby or even Mbuemo. Thoughts?

Foden nailed for now, considering no KDB. Jota will surely get the better minutes but he will be rotated. Pedro, for what they paid for him and how he has looked all preseason.......willing to bet he starts the majority.

Like it a lot, some nice punts. Would go Gabriel over Saliba as better goal threat. Would also try and find the 0.5 for Rash over Bruno. Maybe Estupinan down to a 4.5 to rotate with Botman? Can't see many Brighton cleans and he's a bit of a troll attacking output wise.

      - RDZ raving about him.
      - RDZ pushed hard to sign him apparently.
      - Has looked great in pre-season.
      - Record signing hardly been signed to be benched.
      - Cheap Salah/Trent enabler.

As you can tell he hasn't left any of my drafts.

Very much worth the punt I think. I was set on Mitoma but I'm starting to think he's also going to be under threat of rotation with Adingra doing well in preseason (and he got burned out last season having had to play so much) so I think I'm going to end up with João Pedro instead. Also seems like a lot think he'll take over penalties

Depends on the rest of the team, I'm not sure on Pedro just yet but signs are good.

I'm spreading and only going two arsenal not three so have picked Gabriel and Saliba.

This means if Jesus or Martinelli start scoring I can get them in with a like for like swap not have to mess with my fwds and miss.

Any value at all in 5.5 mids? I've read the article and cannot find much at all.

Ideally I'd turn mitoma into a 5.5 then upgrade Bruno to Rashford and Nkunku to Watkins.

Would leave me with a really solid front 6 then botman, 5.5 mid and Anderson rotating for the 11th spot

I'm think of starting with Salah, captaining GW2 (home against Bournemouth) then selling GW3 as part of a 'Mini WC' (2 x FTs and a -4) to bring in Chelsea and City players like Chilwell and KdB.

One of the few I never considered removing from my initial draft. Hi everyone. I just want to apologise for rarely posting comments here to interact with the community. It's definitely not an intentional oversight from anyone here at Scout.

Personally, my days are getting more intense because of splitting time between editorial/FFC/videos/pods. So, in an attempt to maintain a work-life balance and quell the FPL obsession, I try staying away during evenings and weekends.

But yes, I see why that gets interpreted as shunning the FPL community. I think time will start being set aside to reverse this.... it's an incredible community. Plus, I know a few late-season articles specifically included ideas and answers from the comments section.

Anyway, hope you're all having a lovely summer. Not long til it all begins again!

I appreciate the intention & it would great to see more of you down here. However, the cynical side of me wants to point out that I've seen identical apologies from Az & Sam, but have yet to see anyone follow it up with some actual posts/engagement (Neale & Tom excepted). Hopefully its just a matter of time...

Why no love for kdb and son? Both are decently cheap

Love Son as a differential, bit better options to start with

I assume KDB because of fitness issues and can expect he has more rotation this year.

Son I suspect because there are just lots of good 7.5-9.0 options already

KDB fitness issues, Son because he's got a fair amount to prove to be better than Saka, Rash etc

    I can afford to have

    a) AWB and Rashford
    Or
    b) Stones and Mbeumo +£1.5m.

Is Rashford the stronger play here?

Would change Ederson, and not sure about Udogie and Ahamada but I guess you´ve got a reason for including them. Otherwise, nice Salah-team

Fairly set on this draft, but still got 2.5 itb - would you spend it on upgrading the fodder striker given rotation threats e.g., Wissa or Jackson? Or just keep itb?

    Pickford (4.0)
Stones - Gabriel - WanB (Henry - Baldock)
    Saka - Martinelli - Rashford - Foden - Mitoma
    Haaland - Darwin (4.5)

Think you put yourself in a great position to jump on any structure with that much ITB

Think I'd rather bank it than spread it on the bench given that you already have a decent 1st sub. Darwin will almost certainly come off the bench if not starting

This is how a Salah team would look and I really think it doesn’t feel too imbalanced. Pedro genuinely looks one of the best players in the Brighton attack so far but if he looks unlikely to start I’ll 0.5m for Wissa instead

Pickford (or Flekken if he wakes up)
    Stones Gabriel Estupinan
    Salah Saka Bruno Mbuemo
    Haaland Jesus Pedro

    4m Baldock Nakamba Kabore

With the uncertainty of which Brighton attackers start, I would try to find the extra 0.5 for Wissa or upgrade bench

Would probably mean Jesus > Nkunku which probably wouldn’t be the end of the world but would rather start with Jesus and move him to whoever looks best out of all the 7.5/7s

Wissa will likely be challenged by Schade for that spot up top too though. I was set on going with him but I'm starting to worry that they'll share more minutes than I initially expected (even though some Brentford fans were saying this a while ago)

Maybe keep it quiet now for a week or two?

Planned transfer receive a lot of hate on here but they can be effectively used to attack the fixtures. Eg..
Start with Gabriel, Estupinan + Salah.
    GW1 = NFO, LUT + che
GW2 = cry, wol + BOU (Salah captain)
Transfer out for Chilwell + Son (using 2 x FT) plus £3.0m itb
    GW3 = FUL, LUT + bou
Transfer out Gabriel for TAA (using FT)
    GW4 = AVL, NFO + bur
    GW5 = wol, bou + SHU

Fair to expect multiple cleansheets and hauls from that tidy little run.

The only transfer plans I have is to roll an FT from GW1 into GW2 and also into the IB after GW4 given there will be the usual issues an IB throws up combined with some fixture swings. No harm in having general ideas for what you want to do but if you start tying yourself to specifics I think problems begin to emerge

And scroll down. And keep scrolling down. You will find preseason scorers and assists just as you start to develop RSI. If you get full-blown arthritis you've gone too far.

Was thinking Bowen was doing well but been overlooked? Fixtures aren't great but if he's on form fixtures don't really matter in his case or am I wrong?

Shaw Stones or Chilwell? (Onana keeper)

I think people look way too much into pre-season goals and assists rather than hollistically interpreting players’ fitness, nailedness, history of league competitions, the difference between standards of pre-season friendlies and league games, and other sources of data.

This creates bandwagons for players with limited minutes, experience, bad fixtures, and enigmatic fpl potential, and I see many of such selections. I think the article itself alarms managers to select certain players that fit the description, and will lead to the occurence of new Baileys and Netos.

On the other hand the budget means an enabling player like Wissa, Enciso or Pedro is really helpful and you've got a transfer each week if you want to switch.

It's good there are many worth considering at that price. But with these players, you might end up being disappointed.

yea pre-season doesnt mean much when someone's granny could be banging in hattis. But I think its useful for some proven players, take Bowen for an example, I'm sure he will continue his form into the new season, but everyone ignoring him.
