Not sure I'd punt on Olise for GW22, not too sure as an owner that he'll start even if he makes it in time

Don’t fancy your benching dilemmas ! Wait and see what minutes Jota gets in 2 cup games and what position he plays before deciding on him. Personally think too early to be considering Toney - after this week fixtures very tough so would drop that position to cheap third striker ( even Jiminez) and bring Saka into midfield. Finally I assume you have plan to get Salah (and Son) back

Newcastle may well sign a new goalkeeper in the window.
Gusto, Foden, Jota game time minutes to be affected?
Toney?! You must need a differential. But Brentford do need a striker.
Injuries in FA cup games? I would have waited at least a week for the wc.

Initial thoughts this won't impact Richarlison starts but it may impact his mins with early subs though.

Absolutely, constant pressing from the front and playing on the shoulder of the defender for direct back to front suits Angeball. Hopefully Timo has learned to stay onside!

Can't see the point of him at Spurs. Would have been a good fit at United. They love a winter loan of a non-scoring striker - Ighalo, Wieghorst - he'd fit right in.

Think it's a good move all round personally. Suits Postecoglu's style and system, flexible for LW and CF, takes the burden off Richarlison and Son for those spots a little too. Anything that can give two players that have had fitness issues this season more of a chance of getting subbed early or a rest as opposed to having to play even when unfit can make a big difference

Exactly, and if it doesn't work out it's only a 6 month loan. Hardly the end of the world.

Agree with ND. All about increasing depth in the attacking spots and having 2 options in each position.

Ange expects high intensity throughout the game and normally leads to 60-70 mins subs to continue that intensity.

I’m open to changes but I think this offers a lot of strength in depth - which makes sense with a couple of risky options in there.

    2. james 101
      • 13 Years
      1 year, 11 months ago

Have considered Jota but he’s been out a while

      Doughty also on my radar

And Watkins- though he’d cost me a quality mid or defender (eg downgrade VVD and upgrade Sol to Wat)

      1. The Ilfordian
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member
        • 7 Years

I’m not keen on rotation or loads of bench depth so would downgrade one of the front 8. My preference would be someone like Garnacho or Archer, probably the former, and upgrade Alvarez who is a rotation risk to Watkins.

VVD is great but not my favourite and double Liverpool might be swapped for Doughty or another cheap defender which will give you more cash for the rerun of Salah and or son.

Also not sure you need two keepers but maybe they rotate well?

      • 14 Years

Route back in for Son, Salah etc. in hand?

Would get cheap defender for Coufal - e.g. Branthwaite, Gusto.

Richarlison > Elanga and bank the cash. He's a good enough first sub.
