    Likelihood of TAA being benched in one of the doubles?

    Fully expect Bradley to return, but will he take his Trents spot or will Trent move into midfield?

    On WC - planning to do TAA to Van Dijk but can't reverse the move as selling value will price me out.

      For the premium TAA has to start and think Bradleys performances have give doubt to TAA starting both imo.

      i have Trent and he has to stick around till 26 regardless. Maybe will then downgrade to a cheapie and look to get Salah back

        100% agree have to hold if you already have.

        On a WC though.. thinking it may be better to get Van Dijk

    I have 2 Spurs and 3 Liverpool.

    Porro Richarlison Jota TAA Darwin.

    two Liverpool have to go in 26, but which two?

    was thinking TAA and Darwin seems most obvious.

    To explain why not Spurs players it's simple, we already know they are guaranteed to play in 29, it's decided already.

      Also keeping my Spurs assets for 29.

      TAA needs to go to unlock the funds, it then depends on whether you want Son or a forward that doubles?

    A) Solanke -> Toney
    B) Solanke -> Darwin
    C) Roll and reassess next week

    For A and B I'd probably bench Palmer this week. I would probably bring Solanke back in for his double in 28 (or even a week earlier for Burnley) so I'm not sure if it's worth making a transfer that I'll be reversing in a couple of weeks.

    Dubravka
    Trippier - Porro - Gabriel
    Saka - Jota - Foden - Richi - Palmer
    Haaland - Watkins

    Areola - Solanke - Estupinan - Taylor

    Very quick attempt to navigate and I’m getting to a -20 if I play 11 each week and have plenty of doublers. Do you consider that too many hits?

    Hello all

    Me and my rival both have Saka (away to West Ham). He is ahead by 26 points.

    Would it be a good risk to slightly differentiate and do Saka > Foden (Home to Everton), or just hold Saka?

    1. fish&chips
      • 15 Years

      26 points is nothing. You can easily make that up in 1 lucky week. Just make the moves you think being you the most points and ignore what they're doing

      • 2 Years

      Agree, probably more obvious times to differentiate.

      If you were to go through with it though, wait for City leaks as they have the early kick off this week

    GW29 Free Hit thoughts.

    Usually I believe a free hit isn’t as useful as it first appears during a blank game week due to the limited benefit of having 3 players from mediocre teams, something you are often left with.

    However, looking at how many teams with highly owned players will probably be blanking in 29, I initially felt the Free Hit could be justified.

    However (x2)… having looked at the fixtures closely, it’s a real mixed bag of pros and cons. I’ll break down what I see.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I’m making a huge assumption that the following fixtures BLANK:
    Newcastle v Palace
    Chelsea v Arsenal
    Bournemouth v Wolves
    Liverpool v Everton
    United v Sheffield
    City v Brighton
    … and the following fixtures GO AHEAD:
    Burnley v Brentford
    Luton v Forest
    Fulham v Spurs
    West Ham v Villa
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Factors in favour of using a Free Hit in GW29:

    Solanke, Palmer, Arsenal, United, Newcastle and Wolves all have excellent or decent fixtures before/after they’re blank 29 - making it difficult to transfer them in/out gradually.

    Villa and Fulham are not very appealing before/after their game in 29 - making it difficult to transfer them in/out gradually.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Factors in favour of NOT using a Free Hit in GW29, instead just using transfers:
    Forest, Brentford, Brighton, Burnley, Palace, Everton, Sheffield, are all not very appealing before/after their blank 29 - making it easy to avoid them anyway.
    Liverpool players you could sell for 28 as well as 29, while City players you could sell for 28, 29 and 30 (City play Liverpool in 28 and Arsenal in 30) - making the transfers/hits a little more justified.
    Luton (double 28) and Spurs have excellent fixtures before/after their game in 29 - making it easy to transfer them in anyway without taking too many hits.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    All team dependent. Personally leaning towards a FH to keep city players and I only currently have Watkins & Taylor

    1. lugs
      • 8 Years
      1 year, 10 months ago

      i will 100% use FH as i can't be bothered trying to navigate such a terrible gw using FT's or hits, i currently have 5 from those set of fixtures but with FH to take away the headache i can have even less when i get rid of players i don't want, current plan BB 25, WC 26, FH 29, TC whenever

        This.

    2. Sir Matt Bugsby
      • 6 Years

      1) It's not about the upside of the chip in that GW, but the ease of planning around it,

      2) You just need one of the assumed blanking fixtures to go ahead, to suddenly have a decent FH team, and

      3) It depends on how you see the FH. FH in a blank is defensive: very limited but certain upside.

    3. Camzy
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

      I think at least one surprise fixture goes ahead. Can see Chelsea losing to Leeds or Newcastle losing to us (Blackburn) and those fixtures going ahead.

      If Chelsea - Arsenal goes ahead most people won't FH imo since they can play their template Saka, Gabriel and Palmer.

      Of course the other reason to FH in GW29 is injuries - you could spend a lot of time carefuly trying to set up your team for GW29 only to have the whole house of cards tumble down due to one or two key players being injured.

    Trippier has 10 returns (1G/9A) in 21 games.

    Now add clean sheets (when Newcastle get them) on top of that.

      Same dilemma and it's Alvarez for me. He accumulated 37 points in the six games Haaland didn't start but only 18 in the six games before that when he did (and 2 on Monday). If you take that as reflective then he's a waste of a forwards space.

    Not a fan of ditching out Alvarez for coming fixtures. He can play every positions in front and even in midfield, i.e. minutes 'relatively' secured. Once Haaland is not on the pitch, he is on penalties too. For this price tag, nearly a must hold for me.

    Yay or nay for these moves? Konsa, Solanke, Palmer -> D. Carlos, Garnacho, Haaland (-4). need to shift a defender since estupinan is a mins risk and I don’t have much of a bench with Konsa out and archer/al-dakhil limited mins, Palmer blanks 26 and possibly 29, and currently haalandless. Team looks like this:

    Areola
    Estupinan* Trent Porro
    KDB Saka Richarlison Foden Palmer
    Watkins Solanke

    C) No hits

    Areola
    Porro, Gabriel, Burn
    KDB, Saka, Foden, Palmer, Gordon

    I have the next 6 weeks planned.

    GW24 - Alvarez > Darwin
    GW25 - Richarlison > KdB
    GW26 - Darwin > Solanke
    GW27 - KdB > Son / Foden > Richarlison
    GW28 - Jota > Richarlison + Estupinan > Doughty
    GW29 - Whatever transfers I need

    I field 5 DGWs in 25, 11 in 26, and I get Solanke in place for 28. A few moves seem a bit short term like Darwin and KdB in for 2 weeks each but that's the best way to take advantage of the doubles. I have to sell Alvarez to open up the 3rd City slot to get KdB.

          You have 1FT which you can bank and then use 2 transfers next GW is Salah plays well on weekend. Can advice me below mate? I have 2FTs and it's killing me to decide between saka KDB and who to replace

    Dubravka
    TAA, Porro, Doughty
    KDB, Foden, Palmer, Richa
    Haaland, Watkins, Toney
    (Areola, Gabriel, Garnacho, Estu)

    Already did Solanke to Haaland with the FT, is it worth taking -8 to set myself for the next 3 gws with following transfer?

    GW24 - Watkins & Palmer to Adebayo & Jota
    GW25 - save FT
    GW26 - Adebayo & Jota to Watkins & Hwang for free

      I would keep Watkins as he is better than any Luton player playing twice.

    Guys please help with any transfer to make as it's aching my brain lol
    2 FT and 1.7mn in bank

    Raya Dubravka
    Trent Saliba Porro Estupian* Taylor
    Saka Rich Palmer Foden Gross
    Haaland Watkins Solanke

    With Salah getting back in GW25 should I upgrade Saka to KDB or just ignore KDB for the double?

      Can't have both, if you want salah then forget kdb. Personally, I would get kdb and jota for the dgw

      I am thinking Estupian+ Saka to Gomez + KDB...losing Saka feels painful though

    2FT, 6.4M ITB

    Which one?

    A. Alvarez + Bowen -> Neto + Haaland
    B. Alvarez + Saka -> Jota + Haaland
    C. Other move(s)?

    Areola
    Porro Estupian Saliba
    Foden KDB Saka Palmer
    Watkins Alvarez Solanke

    Turner Bowen Taylor* Lascelles*

    How many dgw25 players are people having? Thinking if I could get away with just 4 (triple City + TAA). Not feeling the Pool players when I'd then have to sell them for a hit in bgw26 to field a full 11. Was considering FH26 but yesteday's results have thrown that out the window

      will have 6 at least and 11 in 26 with 1 ft

      I have 6 and felt it was plenty and didn't need any further hits, but I feel I have to strongly consider Doughty now after yesterday's announcement for GW28, and if I'm going there I'll be doing it this week given he has Sheffield Utd at home. So seems like it'll be 7

    I'm losing track a little.

    Is it this simple.

    4 teams double in gw25, 4 teams blank in gw26 and 2 teams double in gw28?

    There's plenty of blanks but also some decent fixtures in gw29 to pick off with a free hit?

    Is that where we are ... chip strategy dependent.

      Pretty much yeah. I was resigned to using FH in GW29 as I had 1 player as of yesterday for it and expected Villa to beat Chelsea, but Chelsea's win has given me 3 more now (Areola, Bowen and Moreno) so I'm going to see if I can realistically wiggle through without it as I like using FH on one of the late DGWs for some fun

        But does that mean going early with TC?

        Could be some risks on a Haaland TC in gw25 if he's still a bit rusty?

        It will be on the Everton game for Haaland to show signs of promise again.

        The way I see it is if you use a TC and a BB in a dgw, is it really worth saving a FH around the Big Blank weekend?

          Nah I'm holding TC for later, will be other DGWs for the likes of Liverpool and City, doesn't feel like the right time. I felt the same way last season and Haaland went onto get something like 8pts, might be different this time but I'm happy to hold off. I'm using BB next week though so there's that

            oh, I'm holding TC too I think.

            On BB I'm not quite there as my bench is largely away otherwise I could improve on Turner this week to play it.

            Gross, Gusto and Senesi doesn't look worth it for me this week.

              That's fair, I'm looking at Areola (nfo), Branthwaite (CPL), Solanke (new) and whoever I bring in for Olise (Garnacho probably but I'll have to see)

        I looked at the FH last night and I’m not sure why people think you can’t have a great week with it.

        While others hit themselves through it you could take a calm path, gain on anyone’s hits around you and aim for a high GW rank which will elevate you.

        Front 7 something like

        Son C, Maddison, Richardson, Bowen, Kudus, Toney, Watkins.

        I only have 2 of those & plan to sell 1 straight after 25.

        Defence feels better than it looks on paper, 2 Luton defenders home to Forest (Doughty being one) & 2 Brentford at low scoring Burnley.

        Upside is surely gauged on the hits saved either side of it, the points gained either side of it & the highest GW rank (which you have the chance to go for) which will give you a solid green.

        No point fighting it for me, set up well for 25 & 26, the DGW in 34 looks poor & 37 will take care of itself (BB week) if most teams have doubles.

        Don’t need to over complicate things to try and look clever IMO.

          I agree, don't agree with the general mindset here that it's a bad week for it, some good attackers to target there, and in the end it all depends on your team. If Villa went through last night and went on to beat Leeds I'd be looking at realistically getting out 3-4 in GW29 so of course I'd use it, I'd easily get the value out of it. But as it is I'm now on 4 and I will want Spurs attackers after their blank so I know I can get to a decent number now without destroying my team so I'll try to do that

            In some senses you want a FH in a big blank that's painful for everyone.

            It's a free hit and it's not like other players from other teams don't score goals.

            Be fun picking some for a one off and a 30 point net gain in a low scoring week is a big rank boost.

          I'm all for it.

          I find it odd people would contemplate a FH26 but not FH29.

          What I've learnt in these niche pages is some of the planners take great joy in working out a path with FT and saving the chip.

          Not for me ... FH29 baby all the way.

          Unless Leeds beat Chelsea which opens up the Arsenal fixture.

    Remind me of the permutations of Villa being knocked out last night? I have Martinez, Watkins and Palmer. Which GW do they play/blank? Thanks

      Palmer will blank in GW29 now if Chelsea beat Leeds in the next round. Martinez and Watkins now have a fixture guaranteed in that GW I think

        That’s great, thanks Nate. Nice to have 2 more players available in GW29 and also hoping Leeds win that so I have Palmer in the mix too. Would be nice if GW29 is easier to navigate than initially thought.

          Same here, was looking at just having 1 for GW28 if Villa won but I'm up to 4 now. Think I'll be taking a hit for Doughty this week who I'd hope will have a decent chance of having a game (need Luton to lose to City and Forest to lose to ManUtd). Should be able to get through with 9 or 10

    Is it worth spending 4 points this week to bring in trent for porro or better to wait until next week to use 1FT? Currently have exact cash so can't afford him to rise or porro to drop.

      Avoid a hit for Trent.

      I'm selling him when Salah is back and involved.
