Morning! On the subject of taking hits...

Not using my free hit this week and will wildcard in 30.

Going to do Solanke to Toney for free to field 11. Would you take -4 to do Gordon to Maddison? I would bench one of my defenders, who could offer security if Watkins or Reguilon miss out.

    A) Gordon + Solanke > Maddison + Toney (-4) and bench a defender
    B) Just Solanke > Toney (free)

    1FT 11.5ITB
    Areola
    Doughty Kabore Reguilon Cash Robinson
    Son Bowen
    Watkins Morris

    Dubravka Saka Foden Gordon Solanke

    Cheers!

Maddo has Luton in 30 as well, the hit could pay off I think.

Thanks. I'd definitely take the hit if I wasn't wildcarding in 30. I might have Maddison in my WC30 squad, reserving money to bring Saka back for him in 31.

Is Maddison worth the hit as a one-week punt? It's basically Maddison - 4 v Kabore

Missed the WC30 part, in that case I would not do it but maybe you could get Salah in 30 and WC in 31?

Thanks. I've considered that too - but that defence need sorting and I want Haaland, Palmer et al back as well. Cheers for the input!

    1) Kudus vs AVL

There's a 2.85% chance of the above scenario happening.

At some point we need them each to get eliminated though. Happy to see them fight hard and lose in the QF (and it's honestly pretty likely they both advance anyway. They're extremely good teams).

Glad neither of them drew Dortmund or Atletico and get a relatively easy time.

Only got 4 BGW playing players this week, including a potentially injured Watkins, Son, Doughty and Areola. Initially planned to not use FH as player selection this week doesn't interest me much, was looking to bring in Madison and Toney for a four point hit. Now weighing up the potential to Wildcard, aiming for a team of 7/8 players for this week, saving the FH for a DGW. Thoughts?

Thoughts on Watkins given his injury? Sounded quite serious but he's only flagged yellow. On a FH so tempted to risk him knowing I've got suitable bench cover if he doesn't play. A 10 min run out wouldn't be good though.

Thoughts on this FH still deciding on final selections,

    Sels
    Porro - Doughty - Reguilon
    Son - Madders - Bowen - Elanga - Bailey
    Watkins - Toney

    Martinez - Duran - Williams - Cash.

Elanga over Kudus? I know Luton are bad, but that seems unnecessarily risky to me.

Best choice for my FH team?

    A - Double Luton defence
    B - Double Brentford defence
C - Both and play Johnson instead of Porro

The main choice for A and B comes down to Flekken or Kaminski in goal as Doughty and Reguilon will start as my other defenders. If I go with C, then it will likely be Kaminski in goal and a second Brentford defender (Roerslev or Ajer) will come in.

Double Luton defence only if you think Kaminski is gonna get a brace while clearing from his area.
